“ and you didn’t invite me ? ” the elder girl pouts slightly, feigning DISAPPOINTMENT for missing out on what would have been a delicious excursion... though what sunny totes ensures that she hasn’t missed out too much. she drops the downcast look, biting her lip while looking off to the side. “ i mean, i doubt anyone would say no to an offer like that... ” it’s then that a grin begins to appear, gesturing for the adorable brunette to join her at the small table. hyeran had just began her break, and one could call it perfect timing for the supply of sugary snacks to be offered to her — especially over the cup of coffee that sits before her to aid in increasing her wakefulness. “ how’s indulging in a box of cupcakes ever pathetic, though ? ” she inquires, a perplexed smile tugging at her lips, “ overdoing it aside. ”

“so there’s this new bakery that i just found the other day, right? well…it’s not really new, it’s actually been around for a couple of years now, but you get my point. i guess i’ve been there before because they recognized me and gave me my ‘usual’ which was a chocolate cup cake with strawberry frosting. i had no idea i even liked strawberry frosting but oh my god, it’s so good! so i may have gone a bit over board and bought all these different cupcakes because, you know, for taste test reasons and realized i might look slightly pathetic eating all these cupcakes by myself. so moral of the story, do you wanna possible try some cupcakes with me?”

–– ilsung smiled ( albeit a little sheepishly ) when he heard her call out his name. he took a step closer to the bar she was working behind, off to the side where he wouldn’t have to bump into any other customers all on their way to wherever they have to get to that day. ilsung didn’t have much else to do that day besides the usual slew of coursework he had willingly, and near-happily, subjected himself to for the past three years and the translations he chose to pile on top of that. for fun, he always tried to explain to anyone who asked why anything written in ancient greek needed to be written latin as well. that, and usually some other mumbled reasoning as to why it just needed to be put into something with more expansive verb tenses or anything of the sort. “how’s it going?” ilsung asked as his gaze travelled across the other side of the bar from his high vantage point, his eyes pausing briefly on the top of the latte she was making. hyeran looked equally, if not likely more, exhausted than he was, though ilsung counted himself lucky that he hadn’t needed to get up and work a shift of a real job at god knows what time she had. all he had to do that morning was give whoever was still laying beside him a nudge towards the door and actually get a start to his day. he shrugged, looking back up at her. “however i go out, i’ll definitely have it coming,” he said. although he was joking, his tone still sounded as nonchalant as almost everything else he said was. “it’s uh, the day caesar got stabbed. i noticed the date on the wall.”

“ mm... it’s going, ” she deduces, believing there’s not much to be said on her part, “ just the usual half-dead ass-busting. ” rannie laughs, incredulously for the most part — since she likely wouldn’t call it ass-busting if she organized her time properly over the span of a day — as she moves the drink before her to a better view, calling out the order for its respective patron. “ what about you ? ” she inquires before shooting the passing customer a smile, “ busy day ? ” it’s with that that she starts in on the next order, conversation sadly doesn’t clear her of her duties, turning away for a cup to begin with; she glances over her shoulder though, scoffing at him in the meantime. sure, they all have it coming in the end, but — “ that sounds a little concerning, ” the brunette chuckles, “ i have my doubts about that, though. ” it’s sometimes as if the days blur and blend together, hyeran can’t seem to keep track at times, so she’s none too surprised to realize her mistake once again — though she carries the same attitude as always when she does. “ OH ! oh... i kept thinking it was tuesday for some reason, that makes sense now. ”

it having been a busy day thus far, hyeran much anticipates her upcoming break. in truth, it wasn’t too taxing with a couple of her co-workers on shift as well, not to mention it wouldn’t be for one who’d consider herself a PRO when it comes to making lattés, however her late night habits and early morning shifts render her an exhausted mess in dire need of a nap at any given moment. and while the influx of people has certainly slowed as she concocts her current customer’s beverage, it only makes matters worse, if she's to be honest; thus she almost misses the infamous phrase uttered by ilsung, recovering after a few seconds pass and glancing upward as she seals the top of the cup with an appropriate lid. it’s times like these where she’s fond of her english knowledge — both the language and the subject. “ ilsung ! ” she beckons, a light smile on her face while gesturing to his order. though, upon hearing his question, her expression shifts to that of a quizzical one, featuring pursed lips. “ maybe in my bed when i’m past my prime — i’ve never been a fan of knives, personally. ” leave it to her to shrug at his implication. “ how’d that come to mind, anyways ? ”

「  &&.  」–– ilsung paused in the corner of the coffee shop, his eyes landing on a calendar tacked on the wall opposite him. he smiled softly once he noticed the date, though somehow with him it always looked at least a little deprecating. “beware the ides of march,” he said partially under his breath in english. he hadn’t expected anyone to overhear his rather pointless comment, but as he turned to grab his drink off the counter nearby, he found himself starting a conversation as if they had followed what he had said to himself. “isn’t that how you’d like to go out?” ilsung switched to korean to ask. no matter what he did, it always seemed like he was looming over whoever he was speaking with; it was a side effect of being so tall. he smirked at them as he finished his question, “surrounded by friends?”

buT she became involved in music through her father, who studied it in uni and ended up becoming a music instructor with a focus on piano, flute and vocals

her and her mom.. also her older brother, didn’t have the best relationship when she grew older, which seemed to die altogether when her parents divorced and her mom left. but her and her brother’s still exists, it’s just that he’s a bit of a toxic influence on her and she tends to distance herself from him

went to uni in seoul to pursue music like her father ( a daddy’s girl too like ) and found her way into the world of production !! by junior year, she’d transferred out of her original program and majored in that instead and has loved it ever since; she recently graduated

moved to gangnam bc.. idk, she just wanted to KDFJSGLGKFD

among the aesthetic, lo-fi music crowd ( one of those yt accts with a livestream for certain playlists that go on for hours, rip ) where for the most part, it’s personal faves mixed with her own works, and has a substantial following as of now. but has an interest in experimenting, with mashups ( as a lover of them ?? i couldn’t help myself sgflkdsjg ) for example, with a small fear of how that change would be received

in terms of her personality and other things:

she’s a very loyal person, v e r y. while like i said ( and will elaborate on in her bio ), her relationship with her brother is Not Great, she hasn’t completely given up on him. maybe for the time being, but her being someone who’s open to the idea of people changing for the better somewhere down the line, leaves a bit of room for her to possibly change her mind if he does enough to allow her to consider it

so she can be a bit of a doormat in some cases, it all depends on how she sees the person that determines if that’s the case, but she generally won’t let you off if you’re being dumb/an ass to someone or if she gets advantageous vibes from you for example ( given she can.. be a little naive and is a p gentle soul ) so.. idk fgklsj good luck to the 99% ig ??

she does have a slight dependency on others despite her thinking all signs point to the opposite, and even though her and her mom never rly had a good relationship she still reels from the neglect/abandonment some days so handle her with Care if she deems you a close pal

spontaneous tbh, moving to gangnam was a little last minute on her part, for one

she’s a bit reclusive when focused on something, if she tells you she’s working on a track, it’s essentially a head’s up that you might not see her for a couple of days depending on how soon she gets it done — lowkey that bitch™ who makes up an illness to her boss, so she wouldn’t even show up for work if it’s more than just her fucking around

bc admittedly, a lot of what she posts is fucking around and liking it, her more thought-out and effort packed projects are hidden away on her laptop
