Alucard had always been known for his elegance, his strength, and his unshakable demeanor. But if there was one thing that Y/N had learned about him, it was that he could be ridiculously stubborn over the smallest things.
It all started with something trivial—she couldn’t even remember how the argument had escalated. Perhaps it was about him over-exerting himself during training, or maybe it was the way he dismissed her concern with that infuriatingly calm tone of his. Either way, Alucard had decided he was right, and instead of talking it out, he had chosen to brood in silence for the entire day.
He ignored her completely—not in a cruel way, but in a way that was so obviously petty. He would walk past her with his nose slightly upturned, his golden eyes flicking away just as she tried to meet them. If she spoke, he’d respond with a hum or a brief nod, nothing more. Even when they sat across from each other at dinner, he barely acknowledged her existence, quietly eating as if he was the most dignified and righteous being in the world.
And honestly? Y/N found it adorable.
There was something undeniably cute about the way Alucard’s stubbornness manifested—his usual gracefulness replaced by a sulky, almost childish determination to prove his point. His lips were pressed into a thin line, his brows slightly furrowed, and every time she so much as giggled, his ears twitched in the faintest hint of frustration.
She had tried to hold out, to match his stubbornness with her own, but how could she stay mad at him when he was this precious?
With a soft sigh, she finally decided to be the bigger person.
She approached him in his study, where he sat reading by candlelight, pretending to be engrossed in whatever ancient text lay before him. Y/N stepped closer, watching as he stubbornly refused to look up, his golden eyes fixed on the pages despite the fact that he hadn’t turned one in several minutes.
With a smirk, she leaned down, resting her arms on the desk, her face just inches from his. “Are you really going to ignore me all night?”
Silence.
She reached out and gently brushed a strand of his golden hair behind his ear, watching as his jaw tensed slightly. “Alucard,” she cooed, her voice laced with teasing affection, “you’re so cute when you’re being stubborn.”
That finally made him react. His eyes flicked up, narrowing just a fraction. “I am not being cute,” he muttered, the faintest pout tugging at his lips.
Y/N couldn’t help but laugh, and before he could turn away again, she cupped his face in her hands, forcing him to meet her gaze. “I’m sorry,” she said softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “I didn’t mean to upset you.”
Alucard exhaled slowly, his pride visibly warring with the desire to just melt into her touch. After a long pause, he finally gave in, leaning ever so slightly into her hands. “You’re impossible,” he murmured.
“And you’re adorable,” she countered, brushing her thumb over his cheek.
A long silence stretched between them before, finally, the corner of his mouth twitched upward in reluctant amusement. He sighed, closing his book and wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her into his lap. “You win,” he admitted against her shoulder, his voice muffled.
Y/N grinned, pressing another kiss to his temple. “Of course, I do. Now, let’s go to bed, you stubborn little puppy.”
Alucard groaned, but the way his arms tightened around her betrayed how much he loved her teasing—no matter how much he pretended otherwise.

The battlefield was silent, save for the crackling of flames and the distant echoes of the dying. Alucard Tepes knelt in the ruins of what was once a grand hall, his lover—his heart—bleeding out in his arms. Y/N’s breaths were shallow, her skin growing cold beneath his trembling fingers. He cradled her close, his golden eyes filled with unshed tears, his fangs clenched as he fought the primal urge to destroy everything around him.
“I’m sorry…” Her voice was barely above a whisper, but it cut deeper than any blade.
“No,” Alucard shook his head violently, his long blond hair falling over them like a curtain, shielding her from the cruel world. “Don’t you dare apologize. This—this is my fault.” His voice cracked, the weight of guilt crushing him. He had sworn to protect her, to keep her safe. And yet, here she was—dying because of him.
She had thrown herself in the path of an assassin’s blade meant for him. She had sacrificed herself without hesitation, and now he was left holding her broken body, powerless to save her.
A part of him screamed for vengeance. His father, Dracula, would have burned the world to the ground for this. He would have massacred entire kingdoms in the name of love, drowning the earth in blood and grief.
But Alucard had sworn to be better than his father.
He had spent his life denying the monster within him, choosing restraint over rage, mercy over madness. But as he held her, as he felt her heartbeat weaken against his chest, the darkness inside him stirred, whispering of slaughter, of destruction, of revenge.
“I swore to you,” he choked, pressing his forehead against hers. “I swore I would die for you, kill for you, be by your side until the end.” His voice wavered. “But I—I can’t even keep you alive.”
Her blood stained his hands, a cruel reminder of his failure.
Tears slid down his face, something he had not allowed himself for a while. He had watched his mother die, condemned as a witch. He had lost his father to madness and vengeance. And now, the only light in his life was slipping away.
Y/N’s weak hand touched his face, smearing his cheek with blood. “You… already saved me,” she whispered. “Not from death… but from being alone.”
Her words shattered him.
The world blurred around him as she took her last, fragile breath. Her body went still, the warmth fading from her skin.
Silence.
Alucard’s entire being screamed in agony, but no sound escaped his lips. His grip on her tightened, as if holding her closer could bring her back. But she was gone.
And now, there was nothing left but vengeance.
His father had sought revenge for the death of his beloved. And though Alucard had fought to be different—to be better—in that moment, he understood.
He would not become Dracula.
But he would not be merciful either.
With a final, lingering kiss to her forehead, Alucard gently laid her down, his golden eyes dark with resolve. He rose to his feet, his once noble heart now hollow, and turned toward the night.
The ones who took her from him would suffer.
He would drown the world in blood—not for power, not for pleasure… but for her….

Y/N sat at her desk, shoulders weighed down by exhaustion. The pile of requests from those she had helped seemed endless—people who relied on her kindness, her abilities, her unwavering presence. She had spent days prioritizing their needs over her own, forgetting to eat on time, ignoring the fatigue in her bones, and brushing aside the quiet ache in her heart.
Jing Yuan had watched this unfold silently. He admired her selflessness but couldn’t ignore how it was draining her. He had seen the way her once bright eyes now carried the weight of exhaustion, how her lips, usually graced with a gentle smile, now pressed into a thin line of weariness.
So, without a word, he approached her. His strong yet gentle hands rested on her shoulders, his warmth seeping into her tense muscles.
“Y/N,” he murmured, his voice a soothing lull. “Come with me.”
She barely had the energy to protest as he took her hand, guiding her out of the confines of responsibility and into the open world. The moment she stepped into the familiar forest, she felt something inside her ease.
The towering trees were adorned with soft pink blossoms, their petals fluttering down like a gentle rain with every passing breeze. The sun peeked through the branches, casting a golden glow over the lush greenery. The air smelled fresh, a mixture of earth and sweet flowers, and for the first time in days, Y/N breathed deeply.
Jing Yuan watched her reaction carefully, a small smile gracing his lips. “I thought you could use a little escape,” he said, keeping his pace slow as they walked along the petal-strewn path.
Y/N sighed, feeling the tension in her shoulders slowly unwind. “I’ve been so caught up in helping others, I forgot how much I needed this,” she admitted.
Jing Yuan gently intertwined their fingers, his grip firm yet comforting. “You give so much of yourself to others, but even you need rest, Y/N. You are not alone in this—let me share the weight with you.”
She turned to look at him, her heart swelling at the sincerity in his golden eyes. He had always been her pillar of support, but in moments like these, she realized just how much he truly understood her.
Leaning into his warmth, she whispered, “Thank you, Jing Yuan.”
He chuckled, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “No need to thank me. Just promise me you’ll let yourself rest more often.”
As they continued their walk, the pink petals continued to fall around them, dancing in the wind like quiet blessings. And for the first time in a long while, Y/N felt at peace.

Y/N should have known it wouldn’t last.
She should have known that the more time she spent with Ellie, the more dangerous it would become. Because the thing about emotions is that they don’t just go away. They build. And build. And build.
Until they finally break.
It happens on a night when the air is heavy with an oncoming storm. Y/N is sitting on Ellie’s bed, knees pulled to her chest, while Ellie paces the room, clearly agitated.
“She’s such a bitch,” Ellie mutters, running a hand through her hair. “Acting like I don’t even exist—like everything we went through didn’t matter. I swear to God, if I see her again—”
A sudden snap inside Y/N’s head.
The rage—Ellie’s rage—crashes into her like a tidal wave. It’s too much. Her hands tremble. Her breathing goes ragged.
And then, before she can stop herself, something inside her shifts.
The lamp on Ellie’s desk shatters.
Ellie freezes.
Y/N gasps, staring at the broken glass on the floor, her hands shaking violently. “Oh my God.”
Ellie turns to her slowly. “Y/N… what the hell was that?”
“I—I don’t know,” Y/N stammers. “I felt your anger, and I couldn’t stop it. It—it just—”
She looks at her hands like they belong to someone else. Like she isn’t sure if they’re even hers anymore.
Ellie steps closer, cautious. “Hey. It’s okay.”
“No, it’s not.” Y/N’s voice cracks. “I’m losing control.”
Ellie hesitates, then, against all reason, she kneels in front of Y/N and takes her hands.
“You’re not losing control,” she says firmly. “You’re just feeling too much. And we’ll figure it out. Together.”
Y/N’s chest heaves. “What if I hurt you?”
Ellie’s lips twitch into something that’s almost a smirk, but there’s something serious beneath it. “You won’t.”
“You don’t know that,” Y/N whispers.
Ellie squeezes her hands. “Yeah, I do.”
Y/N stares at her, searching for doubt, for hesitation. But Ellie isn’t afraid. Not of her. Not even after the lamp shattered, not even after Y/N nearly lost herself in Ellie’s rage.
It terrifies Y/N.
Because Ellie doesn’t get it. She doesn’t understand that Y/N isn’t safe. That if she loses control again, it might not just be a broken lamp next time. It might be her.
“I should go,” Y/N says suddenly, pulling her hands back. “I—I need air.”
Ellie frowns. “Y/N—”
But Y/N is already moving, grabbing her jacket and rushing out the door.
She doesn’t stop running until she’s outside, the cool night air biting at her skin….to be continued

Warning:none
The more time Y/N spends with Ellie, the easier things become. The noise in her head quiets when Ellie is around, like her presence alone is enough to drown out the thoughts that don’t belong to her.
But there’s a problem.
Y/N is getting too used to Ellie’s presence. Too dependent. And worst of all, she’s starting to feel things she isn’t sure belong to her.
Like how, when Ellie laughs, Y/N’s stomach flips in a way that isn’t just relief—it’s something more.
Or how, when Ellie brushes against her in passing, it sends warmth up her spine.
Or how, when Ellie looks at her, really looks at her, Y/N feels like she isn’t drowning anymore.
It’s dangerous. Because what if this isn’t her? What if she’s just feeling Ellie’s emotions?
She doesn’t know what’s real anymore.
——————————————————————— One night, they’re sitting on the rooftop of Ellie’s apartment complex, the city lights stretching out in the distance. Ellie has a cigarette between her fingers, though she’s barely taken a drag from it. Y/N watches as the smoke curls into the night sky.
“You’ve been quiet,” Ellie finally says.
Y/N stiffens. Of course Ellie would notice. She always does.
“Just thinking,” Y/N says, pulling her knees to her chest.
Ellie exhales through her nose. “That’s dangerous for you, isn’t it?”
Y/N gives a dry laugh. “You have no idea.”
Ellie nudges her knee against Y/N’s. “Wanna talk about it?”
Y/N hesitates. The words are right there, threatening to spill out. What if the way I feel about you isn’t real? What if I’m just mirroring you? What if I lose myself completely?
But she can’t say any of that.
So instead, she just says, “I don’t know who I am when I’m around people.”
Ellie frowns. “What do you mean?”
Y/N takes a shaky breath. “I feel everything they feel. I think everything they think. And sometimes… sometimes I don’t know where I start and where they end.” She swallows. “I’m scared, Ellie. Scared that one day, I’ll be so full of other people’s emotions that I’ll forget who I am.”
Ellie is quiet for a long time. Then, she says something that almost breaks Y/N.
“You’re you when you’re with me.”
Y/N’s breath catches in her throat. She turns to look at Ellie, and there’s something in her eyes—something raw, something real.
Y/N wants to believe her. She really does.
But then, the fear creeps in.
“What if I’m just reflecting you?” Y/N whispers. “What if everything I feel—everything I am—is just because of you?”
Ellie doesn’t look away. “Then let’s find out.”
And then, she reaches out and takes Y/N’s hand in hers.
Y/N expects a flood of emotions, a rush of thoughts that aren’t her own. But instead, there’s just… stillness.
And for the first time in forever, Y/N feels like she’s herself…….to be continued

They end up behind the old gym, a quiet spot where no one ever goes except for kids sneaking smokes. Ellie hops onto a concrete ledge, stretching her legs out in front of her while Y/N stays standing, arms crossed.
“So,” Ellie says, raising an eyebrow. “Wanna tell me what that was back there?”
Y/N stiffens. “What do you mean?”
Ellie gives her a look. “Come on. You looked like you were about to pass out.”
Y/N sighs, glancing away. She wants to tell her. She wants to explain the chaos in her head, the emotions that aren’t hers but feel like they are. But every time she’s opened up before, people either don’t believe her or get scared.
But Ellie… Ellie doesn’t feel like someone who would run.
“I can feel people’s emotions,” Y/N finally says, voice barely above a whisper. “And hear their thoughts.”
She waits for Ellie to laugh. Or call her crazy. Or get that look in her eye that says Oh, she’s one of those people.
But Ellie doesn’t do any of that. She just tilts her head.
“That sounds like a nightmare,” she says.
Y/N exhales sharply. “You have no idea.”
“Yeah, I think I do.”
Y/N frowns, watching as Ellie pulls her sleeve up, revealing a faint, jagged scar on her forearm. “People have their own kinds of hell. Yours just looks different from mine.”
Y/N doesn’t know what to say to that. No one has ever gotten it before. No one has ever looked at her gift—her curse—and understood.
For the first time, Y/N wonders what it would be like to have someone stay.
Being around Ellie makes everything easier. The thoughts are still there, the emotions still threaten to swallow her whole, but when she’s with Ellie, it’s like there’s a wall between her and the chaos. Like Ellie grounds her in a way nothing else can.
But that doesn’t mean the power isn’t dangerous.
It happens one afternoon when they’re walking through the empty streets behind town, where the old train tracks run. Y/N is laughing at something Ellie said when suddenly, a wave of rage crashes into her.
She barely has time to process it before she realizes—it’s Ellie’s.
Y/N stumbles back, the fury clawing at her chest, making her breath come short. Her hands shake as she grips her head, trying to block it out, but it’s too much.
“It’s not mine, it’s not mine, it’s not—”
Then Ellie is in front of her, hands gripping her shoulders. “Hey. Hey. Look at me.”
Y/N forces herself to meet Ellie’s eyes, and just like before, the chaos fades. It doesn’t disappear completely, but Ellie’s presence is like an anchor, keeping her from being dragged under.
“You’re okay,” Ellie says, her voice steady.
Y/N breathes in sharply. “I—I felt it. Your anger. It just—” She shudders. “It took over.”
Ellie’s expression darkens for a second, but she pushes it away. “Yeah. I get that.” She exhales. “I… I have a lot of shit in my head, Y/N. You don’t have to carry it.”
“But I do,” Y/N whispers. “That’s the problem.”
For a long moment, they just stand there. Then Ellie reaches out, fingers brushing against Y/N’s wrist. It’s not much. Just a small touch. But it’s enough.
Y/N exhales, the storm inside her settling just a little.
Maybe—just maybe—she doesn’t have to do this alone….to be continued

A/n: hey guys so this chapter is based off of life is strange and the last of us and if you guys have any recommendations please feel free to share them!
*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・* ゚・*:.。..。.:*・'・*・
Y/N has always been different. Born with the overwhelming ability to feel others’ emotions and hear their thoughts, life has never been simple. At times, it’s a blessing—to comfort a friend before they even speak, to know who to trust. But more often than not, it’s a curse. The weight of the world crushes her, emotions too intense to bear. She loses herself in others’ pain, their anger, their fear.
She starts to believe she isn’t real—just a mirror for everyone else’s suffering. That is until she meets her.
Ellie Williams.
A girl who, for some reason, doesn’t overwhelm her. A girl whose thoughts don’t scream at her like the rest of the world’s. A girl who doesn’t just tolerate Y/N’s powers but understands them. Ellie is the only one who makes her feel like herself—the only one who makes the chaos quiet. But as their connection deepens, Y/N realizes that Ellie is battling demons of her own. And with emotions running high, Y/N risks losing herself in Ellie’s pain, too.
Is love enough to keep her grounded? Or will she lose control and become something unrecognizable?

Chapter 1:The Noise
Y/N presses her hands against her ears, but it does nothing. The thoughts, the feelings—they never stop.
“I can’t fail this test—my dad will kill me.”
“God, why does she even try to talk to me?”
“I miss him so much. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.”
A flood of emotions rushes through her—anxiety, disgust, grief. It’s not hers, but it feels like it is. The walls of the school hallway close in. Her breaths come faster. Her fingers twitch, knuckles white. If she doesn’t get out—if she doesn’t breathe—
“Hey.”
A voice. A real one. Not in her head.
She blinks, and suddenly, the noise fades—not completely, but enough. Enough to make the world stop spinning.
Ellie Williams stands in front of her, green eyes studying her with a mix of curiosity and concern. Y/N realizes she’s been staring too long, the weight of silence stretching between them.
“You good?” Ellie asks, shifting her weight. Her voice is steady, real. Not like the others. Not like the storm of emotions Y/N usually drowns in.
For the first time all day, Y/N takes a deep breath.
“I think I am now.”
Ellie doesn’t press for answers. She doesn’t ask why Y/N looked like she was about to collapse or why her eyes darted around like she was drowning in something no one else could see. She just leans against the locker beside her, casually tossing a switchblade between her fingers.
For the first time in a long time, Y/N doesn’t feel like she has to run.
“You skipping class, or do you actually need to be somewhere?” Ellie finally asks.
Y/N hesitates. She should go to class. She should pretend everything is fine, sit through another lecture while the thoughts of her classmates claw at her skull. But right now, the idea of being anywhere else but here, with Ellie, feels unbearable.
“I don’t know,” Y/N admits.
Ellie studies her for a second, then nods toward the exit. “Come on.”
Y/N doesn’t question it. She just follows…..to be continued

The year was 1923, and the world was caught in a quiet war—one fought not with nations but with creatures that hunted in the dark. Among the most dedicated of warriors was Giyuu , a Hashira known for his stoic resolve and unmatched skill with a blade. But beneath his unyielding exterior was a man haunted by loss, drowning in guilt over the death of his wife, reader.
Giyuu and reader had been inseparable. She was his light, her laughter a song that could banish even his darkest thoughts. But one fateful night, a demon descended upon their village. Despite his efforts, Giyuu was unable to save her. He had cradled her bleeding body as her life slipped away, her final words a whisper of love. Since then, he had blamed himself for her death, believing that he was cursed to bring ruin to everyone he loved.
For years, Giyuu lived as a ghost of himself. He threw himself into the Demon Slayer Corps, becoming a Hashira in hopes of protecting others from the same fate. Yet, he kept his distance from his comrades, his heart walled off by the fear of losing anyone else.
One evening, during a mission in a remote town, Giyuu came across a woman who stopped him in his tracks. She had the same gentle eyes, the same soft smile—she was the image of reader. But it couldn’t be her. He had seen her die. His mind whispered that it was a cruel trick of exhaustion or perhaps even a demon’s deception. Still, his heart clenched with the hope he dared not acknowledge.
The woman, who went by the name (whatever name u want), lived a quiet life in the town, working at a small apothecary. She had no memory of her past beyond five years prior, when she had been found injured in the woods by kind strangers. She carried an air of calm, but in her dreams, she often saw fleeting images—a man with sorrowful eyes, the sound of her name spoken with love. She dismissed them as figments of her imagination.
Fate intervened when readers town came under attack by demons. Giyuu arrived in time to fight, his blade a whirlwind of fury. During the chaos, a demon lunged toward Hana, and Giyuu shielded her without a second thought. As their eyes met, something stirred within her—a flash of recognition, a fragment of a memory.
In the aftermath, Giyuu couldn’t bring himself to leave her side. He convinced himself it was his duty to protect her, even as he wrestled with his emotions. Reader, in turn, felt a strange pull toward him, as if he were someone she had known in another life.
Days turned into weeks, and their paths crossed again and again. With each encounter, more fragments of reader memory began to surface: a name whispered in the wind, the warmth of a hand in hers, the sound of his voice calling out to her. She began to wonder if her forgotten past held more than she had imagined.
One night, as they sat beneath the stars, Hana asked Giyuu about his past. For the first time in years, he opened his heart, sharing the story of readers and his endless guilt. As he spoke, tears filled her eyes, and she reached for his hand.
“I don’t remember everything,” she said softly, “but when I look at you, it feels like I’ve found something I lost a long time ago.”
Giyuu’s breath caught. He saw the flicker of reader in her gaze, a glimmer of the woman he had loved and mourned. Hope bloomed in his chest, fragile but unyielding.
Their journey was far from over. Demons still lurked in the shadows, and readers memories remained fragmented. But together, they would face the darkness, searching for the truth of her past and the love that had never truly been lost.
And in the quiet moments between battles, Giyuu allowed himself to believe that perhaps, just perhaps, fate had granted him a second chance.

The Luofu’s annual fireworks festival was a breathtaking event, a night when the stars seemed to bow to the brilliance of lights blooming in the dark sky. It was a night of celebration, of joy, and for Jing Yuan, a night he hoped to remember forever.
For weeks, Jing Yuan had wrestled with the whirlwind of emotions he felt whenever he saw her. She was the first thought when he awoke and the last before sleep claimed him. She was kind, witty, and her presence filled the spaces in his heart he hadn’t even realized were empty. He wanted to tell her—needed to—but for someone as composed as the Arbiter-General, the right moment was elusive.
Tonight, under the glow of fireworks, he hoped the perfect moment would find him.
The festival was alive with music and laughter as Jing Yuan arrived at their planned meeting spot. His usual calm demeanor masked the quiet thrum of his heart when he saw her standing under a lantern-lit archway.
She wore a soft, flowing kimono that danced lightly with the evening breeze. Her hair shimmered like silk in the golden glow, and her eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked up at the fireworks beginning to bloom in the sky. In that moment, she was more radiant than the festival itself.
“Jing Yuan!” she called, waving to him with a smile that could rival the sun.
He walked toward her, his hands tucked behind his back, hiding the nervous clench of his fingers. “You look… stunning tonight,” he said, his voice soft but sincere.
She laughed lightly, brushing off his compliment. “You’re too kind. The fireworks are the real stars of the show tonight.”
He wanted to disagree. To tell her that no firework, no matter how grand, could outshine her in his eyes. Instead, he chuckled and gestured toward the viewing area.
“Shall we?”
They found a spot by a quiet hill, away from the bustling crowd. From there, the fireworks painted the sky in brilliant hues, each burst more dazzling than the last. She watched in awe, her face lit up by the vibrant colors, while Jing Yuan watched her.
“You know,” she began, her voice carrying a wistful tone, “fireworks are so fleeting. They burn so brightly, but then they’re gone in an instant.”
He looked at her thoughtfully, his golden eyes soft. “Perhaps their beauty lies in that fleetingness. They remind us to treasure the moment while it lasts.”
She turned to him, a curious smile playing on her lips. “That’s surprisingly poetic coming from you.”
“I have my moments,” he replied with a chuckle, though his gaze remained steady on her. This was it. The moment he’d been waiting for.
“[Y/N],” he said, her name rolling off his tongue like a prayer. She turned to him, her smile still lingering but now tinged with curiosity.
“I’ve been meaning to tell you something,” he continued, his voice softer now, almost vulnerable. He reached out, gently taking her hand in his. “You light up my world in a way I never thought possible. Every time I see you, it’s as if the clouds part and the sun shines a little brighter. And tonight… tonight, you’ve outshone even the fireworks.”
Her breath hitched, her eyes wide as his words sank in.
“I don’t want to keep these feelings to myself any longer,” he said, his golden eyes searching hers. “I care for you deeply, more than words can express. You’ve become the center of my universe, and I—”
Before he could finish, she squeezed his hand, her face breaking into the most radiant smile he’d ever seen. “Jing Yuan,” she said softly, her voice trembling slightly, “you’ve always lit up my sky too.”
The next firework burst above them in a cascade of golden light, but Jing Yuan barely noticed. All he could see was her, all he could feel was the warmth of her hand in his. And as their gazes locked, the world seemed to fade, leaving only the two of them beneath a sky ablaze with light.
This was the perfect moment.

The room was dark and silent, except for the soft rustling of the wind against the window. You lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, your heart racing as you fought to steady your breathing. The nightmares had been relentless these past few nights, each one worse than the last. They always started the same: Howl, carefree and beautiful as always, wandering off with his confident, unbothered grin. But then, something would happen—a shadow would loom, danger would strike, and he wouldn’t return. You’d call his name, over and over, but only silence would answer.
Tonight, though, it felt too real. In the dream, you stood in a crumbling battlefield, your voice hoarse from screaming for him. The skies burned orange, the air thick with ash. You saw Howl in the distance, fighting off faceless foes with his magic, but then he turned to look at you—his vibrant blue eyes filled with pain—and collapsed. You couldn’t reach him. No matter how hard you ran, the ground seemed to fall away beneath your feet, pulling him further and further out of reach.
You woke with a jolt, your chest heaving as if you’d been running for miles. Cold sweat clung to your skin, and your hands trembled as you wiped at your face. For a moment, you couldn’t tell if you were still dreaming. The shadows in the corners of the room seemed to move, taunting you with the lingering memory of the nightmare.
But then you felt it: the warmth of someone beside you.
You turned your head sharply, and there he was—Howl, his golden hair softly illuminated by the moonlight streaming through the window. He was sound asleep, his face relaxed and peaceful, his breathing steady. Relief flooded you, making you gasp audibly.
The sound must have woken him, because Howl’s eyes fluttered open, groggy at first but quickly sharpening as he noticed your distressed state. “Darling?” he murmured, his voice low and husky. “What’s wrong?”
“I—I’m fine,” you stammered, but the tears pricking your eyes betrayed you.
He sat up, his hand gently brushing your damp hair away from your face. “No, you’re not,” he said firmly, his tone laced with concern. “Tell me what happened.”
You hesitated, your throat tightening as the memory of the nightmare clawed its way back into your mind. But Howl’s steady gaze, filled with warmth and patience, made it impossible to hold back. “I had a nightmare,” you whispered. “You were… you were in danger. I tried to help, but I couldn’t reach you. You didn’t come back, Howl.”
His expression softened, and he pulled you into his arms without hesitation. His embrace was warm and grounding, his heartbeat a steady rhythm against your cheek. “Oh, love,” he murmured, his voice like a soothing melody. “I’m so sorry you felt that way.”
“It felt so real,” you said, your voice cracking. “You’re always out there, doing dangerous things, and I— Howl, I worry so much. I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you.”
He pulled back just enough to look into your eyes, his hands framing your face gently. “Listen to me,” he said, his tone steady and sincere. “I know I can be reckless sometimes. I know I’m not the easiest person to love, with my magic and my stubbornness. But I promise you this: I will always come back to you. Always.”
His words made your heart ache, but in the best way. “How can you be so sure?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Because,” he said, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, “there’s nothing in this world, or any other, that could keep me away from you. You are my home, my anchor. I would never leave your side willingly.”
Tears slipped down your cheeks, but this time they were tears of relief. You leaned into him, letting his presence chase away the lingering shadows of your nightmare. Howl held you tightly, his fingers stroking your hair as he whispered comforting words, each one a vow etched into your heart.
Eventually, your breathing evened out, and sleep began to claim you once more. But this time, as you drifted off, you felt safe, knowing that Howl would be there when you woke. No matter the dangers he faced, no matter how far he wandered, he would always come back to you.

———————————————————————
The warm sun bathed the tranquil landscape in golden hues as Rengoku guided you toward the shimmering lake nestled in a meadow far from the hustle of life’s demands. His enthusiasm was contagious, and though you had no idea what he had planned, his radiant smile reassured you that this day was going to be special.
It had been his idea to take a break from everything—the Demon Slayer Corps, the constant battles, and the lingering weight of duty. You both needed this escape, and when he proposed a picnic by the lake, you eagerly agreed. The thought of being surrounded by nature and in his company alone was all you needed to feel at peace.
Rengoku carried a large basket filled with all your favorite foods, his muscles flexing slightly under his loose white shirt. The sight of him like this—relaxed, smiling, and free from the weight of responsibility
—made your heart swell. You couldn’t help but admire how the sunlight seemed to embrace him, highlighting his golden hair and fiery eyes. He glanced over his shoulder, catching you staring, and chuckled softly.
“What’s this? Are you already captivated by the view before we even reach the lake?” he teased, his voice full of warmth.
You laughed, shaking your head. “I think the view is following me, actually,” you replied playfully, earning a hearty laugh from him.
As the two of you reached the lake, the scene was nothing short of breathtaking. The water mirrored the sky, its surface rippling gently in the breeze. Tall trees framed the clearing, their leaves whispering softly as if guarding the serenity of this moment. Rengoku set the basket down on a soft patch of grass and spread out a blanket, gesturing for you to sit.
“It’s perfect here, isn’t it?” he asked, his voice quieter now, almost reverent.
You nodded, taking in the tranquil beauty. “It really is. I can’t remember the last time I felt this peaceful.”
He sat beside you, close enough that his warmth brushed against you. As you shared the meal he had so carefully prepared, the world seemed to shrink until it was just the two of you—no demons, no missions, no worries. Just the sound of the lake and his laughter echoing in the breeze.
Unbeknownst to you, his heart was racing. Hidden in his pocket was a small box, and with each passing moment, the weight of it grew heavier. He waited for the perfect moment, savoring the joy on your face, the light in your eyes. And when the sun began to dip toward the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and gold, he knew it was time.
Rengoku cleared his throat, his usual confident demeanor softening as he turned to face you fully. His warm hand gently took yours, his thumb brushing against your knuckles. The golden light of the setting sun made his eyes burn brighter, filled with an emotion so deep it made your breath catch.
“Y/N,” he began, his voice steady but tinged with emotion, “you’ve been my light in the darkest of days. When the world feels heavy, you remind me of the beauty in it. You remind me why I fight, why I persevere. And being here with you, away from everything… I’ve realized there’s only one thing I want more than anything else.”
You blinked, your heart pounding as he let go of your hand and reached into his pocket. Time seemed to slow as he pulled out a small velvet box and opened it to reveal a ring—simple yet elegant, its delicate design shining like the lake under the fading sun.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice now trembling slightly, “will you marry me? Will you let me spend the rest of my life loving and protecting you?”
For a moment, the world seemed to stop. All you could hear was the soft lapping of the water and the rhythmic beat of your heart. Tears blurred your vision as a wave of joy and love crashed over you.
“Yes,” you whispered, then louder, “Yes, Rengoku! A thousand times, yes!”
His face lit up with a joy so radiant it rivaled the sun. He slipped the ring onto your finger, his hands gentle but sure. Then, with a laugh of pure happiness, he pulled you into his arms, holding you close as though you were the most precious thing in the world.
In that moment, there were no demons, no battles, no burdens. There was only him, the love in his eyes, and the promise of a lifetime spent in each other’s arms. The lake, the sunset, the whispering trees—they all bore witness to the start of a new chapter, one filled with love, hope, and endless possibilities.

The world had fallen apart about some years ago. Skies once filled with birds were now smudged gray, and the streets were overrun by the dead. Ellie and reader had found each other 6 months ago Ellie let her in and surrounded her with love by the people of Jackson. She introduced her to Dina, Jessie, and Joel they loved her like their own reader felt at home again. Reader was there with Ellie when joel had passed and was even with her during the journey to hunt down Abby. Ellie and reader the two wondering souls who tries to make it to see another day everyday trying to survive the end of everything.
Ellie was a stubborn woman she was tough and guarded when they first met, her hazel eyes hard like stones, a survivor to the core. Reader,on the other hand she was the dreamer—a gentle heart that hadn't yet been crushed by the horrors of the new world. Ellie admired that, though she would never admit it aloud.
They was looking to find ammo, food, and other supplies because they was running low on. It was getting late when they found an abandoned bookstore and made camp there that night, firelight flickering across their faces as the groans of the undead echoed faintly in the distance. Ellie sat on the ground sharping her knife, while reader hummed to herself quietly, her fingers tracing the cracked spine of a novel.
"What ya humming?" Ellie asked, breaking the silence.
" 'wicked games ,' " Reader replied glancing at her. "It used to be my favorite song"
Ellie smirked faintly. "What a choice for end of the world."
Reader smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Fitting, don't you think? No, I don't want to fall in love.' "
Ellie's gaze flickered to her, the words hitting too close. She cleared her throat and returned to her knife. "Love's not exactly useful anymore.."
"Maybe," Reader said softly, pulling her knees to her chest. "But don't you miss it? Even just the idea of it?"
Ellie didn't answer. She had spent her life building walls—first because the world had always been harsh and later because love seemed like a weakness, Especially now. Every person you cared about was a liability, someone you couldn't protect forever.
But Reader was different. She had a way of making Ellie feel things that she didn't think anyone would make her feel in months —hope, warmth, fear. It terrified her.
"I don't have time to think about things like that," Ellie finally said. "We've got to stay alive, reader. That's all that matters right now.."
Reader studied her for a long moment, her green eyes full of something Ellie couldn't quite place. "You don't have to be afraid of it, you know"
"Of what?"
"Of feeling something," reader said quietly. "Even in a world like this. Especially in a world like this."
Ellie shook her head, frustration bubbling to the surface. "What's the point? It's just makes everything harder. I can't—" she stopped herself, the words catching in her throat.
"I can wait," Reader said, cutting through the tension. Her voice was soft, but there was steel in it. "I'm not going anywhere, Ellie. I'll wait as long as it takes."
Ellie looked at her, really looked at her, and for a moment the weight of everything—the apocalypse, the fear, joel, even the walls she built to keep people that she loves away from getting hurt in her grasp—felt like it might crush her. Reader's hope was dangerous, and yet Ellie couldn't bring herself to push it away.
"Don't wait for me," Ellie said, her voice barely a whisper. "I'm not worth it.."
But reader just smiled, the kind of smile that felt like sunlight breaking through storm clouds. "I think you are"
Outside, the world was chaos, a nightmare of shambling corpses and despair. But in that quiet moment, in the glow of the firelight, something fragile and unspoken passed between them—a flicker of something that felt almost like love.
Ellie didn't know if she could ever let herself fall, but for the first time in forever, she thought maybe, just maybe, she'll wanted to try love again..
THE END
