Kayne would not work off my BPD and get me unhealthy obsessed with him. I mean, like, it's THERE but the crush and infatuation is one-sided and doesn't fuel the fire. If you compare Jack and I to Kayne- Jack's own personality and mannerisms and way of interacting with others was ALWAYS going to fuel my single person obsession; Jack needs someone to worship him as a hero, I'm there on my knees to prove he is one, Jack keeps me around because I do exactly what I want.

Meanwhile, Kayne has his fixation. It's set in stone (heh.) And while I do imagine he'll often give into my crush, tease me, work with and against me, it's uniquely one-sided. We're exes that never dated (perhaps akin to the way the Gods intermingle and everything becomes wishy-washy), wrong time, wrong person, truly a "it was never meant to be".

And I think unlike Jack who dearly loves and often needs someone to use as a scapegoat and abuse however helps his own narrative, Kayne would become bothered and at the worst of times entirely annoyed to the point of completely ignoring me when I became too much. And while that would fuel me to continue pursuing him, Kayne wouldn't care. Until I act out enough that I become something eye-catching to him. Annoying in a new way.

When someone claims to know your story better than you do- especially to Kayne, NOW you have his attention. Now I have what he wants. And the relationship becomes a skewed dance of who's lying, who isn't lying, and who's too deep into the lie and lost what was originally their own?

And that's when Kayne starts to almost speak fondly of me.
