don't know who needs to hear this but gender non-conformity is not only for trans people. cis women can wear binders and packers. cis men can wear breast forms and tuck. cis women can use he/him pronouns and cis men can use she/her pronouns. anyone can use they/them pronouns or neopronouns. anyone can dress fem or masc regardless of gender identity. anyone can take hormones and get surgeries even if it doesn't match the 'normal' presentation for their gender. all the rules about gender are fake and you can do what you want. gender isn't some finite resource. do whatever the fuck makes you comfortable.
#something something 'granularity of experience's#important and true#and also tbh; as much as often conflated#being transgender and being transsexual are two separate things and you can be one without the other#define yourself how you want to and how suits you

I did something a little different with the surface of this mug. After I finished underglazing, I sort of flooded the negative space with more underglaze that I’d watered down. It feels quite a bit smoother than usual!
On the bottom there, we see the benefits of loading a kiln yourself. I’m at a community studio, and our kiln shelves are in pretty rough shape. It looks like this cup was set on a particularly dirty area. I may try to sand the hell out of it later, but fortunately it’s almost all on the bottom of the foot.

You are always, without exception, allowed to critically evaluate the information presented to you and make up your own mind about it. This is baseline human dignity; to deny it is abusive. Resist anyone, even the loudest and most influential voices, who tells you that allyship requires subordinating your own capacity for critical thought. You do not owe anyone that.

Zrai are cold blooded and have smooth moist skin fit for the semi-aquatic environment they evolved in, the salty reef-mangrove coastlines. They've evolved chromatophores on their skin to display their emotions, and every zrai language heavily incorporates color as a supplement to vocal speech, which is especially useful underwater. Each language uses unique colorful flashing stripe patterns, but all their languages use the same color for each emotion, with few exceptions.
It's very difficult but possible for a zrai to learn how display any color they want independently of how they feel, it's a skill that generally takes years of practice to pull off effectively, though rarely it comes naturally for a small few. Those that can pull this off are usually regarded by fellow zrai and other sophant species in the galaxy as emotionally mature and above average intelligence compared to other zrai, and often live in or move to nedal settlements to pursue careers in acting and performance (though it varies whether they live up to the high exceptions put for them).
Males evolved to generally have more choromatophores so their matriarchal female partner can keep better track of their harem. Also, most females who you ask would tell you it makes them more cute :>

Ugandan entrepreneurs Sandra Namboozo (26) and Samuel Muyita (28) have scooped both the People’s Choice and Community Healers awards at the prestigious 2025 Young Inventors Prize, organised by the European Patent Office (EPO). The duo was recognised for their groundbreaking innovation, Karpolax—a biodegradable sachet that preserves fruit freshness without refrigeration. The invention impressed both the public and an independent jury. The sachet, placed inside fruit packaging, emits a blend of plant-based volatile organic compounds derived from cloves, lemongrass, eucalyptus, and wintergreen. These compounds suppress ethylene emissions to slow ripening and protect against mould, fungi, and bacteria.
In pilot trials conducted with the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO), Karpolax extended the shelf life of mangoes from 11 to 33 days. The technology has also been tested successfully on bananas, apples, and oranges.
The innovation offers a critical solution for smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, where cold storage facilities are often unavailable or unaffordable.
Since its launch in 2020, Karpolax has supported over 100 farmers, 20 exporters, and 250 vendors, helping prevent the spoilage of more than one million tonnes of fruit. The sachets are now being adapted for use with pineapples, capsicum, and berries.
“One sachet can preserve a five-kilogram box of fruit for up to 30 days, after which its active ingredients are used up,” Namboozo explained.

iDigBio's amazing new chatbot starts lying literally immediately
it took one (1) question for the amazing new agentic LLM iChatBio to start fabricating information out of nothing. I asked for a list of clam shrimp in Florida, and it skipped a whole genus. when I told it that it was missing one, it confidently replied that Cyzicus also lives in Florida (it doesn't).
Here also is the GBIF listing for a specimen of Paralimnetis, the genus it skipped. There are no exact coordinates, which is probably why the robot skipped it, but I would hope a person could properly interpret "Florida" to mean Florida:

I sent these screenshots to the team, I wonder if they will respond?

I think mostly what young fandom types (and I guess younger people in general) who are very very invested in the idea that “20 is still basically a minor” need to understand is that the feeling of “I’m just a child pretending to be an adult, and everyone else around me is a REAL adult” is DEEPLY universal (and won’t stop, ever, by the way, sorry!) and also is not, like, praxis.
Believe me, I get it, but the self-infantilization needs to stop, especially when you’re trying to engage in conversations about actual children and the harms they can face. Yes, it is scary to wake up and realize you’re 22 and you still feel like you’re 15, but it happens to all of us. You’re an adult. You have to deal with it.
