They said life is like a roller coaster, it brings you up and down. There is excitement, thrill, the scary part, and other feelings. However, unlike the roller coaster, we have the power to control our self, when to go and when to stop. We can stand up from a fall, we learn from mistakes. Yet, life begins at the very moment you step on the outside world, when you embrace your weakness, let go of plans that did not go the way you want it, accept and appreciate the things you have, and leave the things you cannot contro to Him, the Father.
Hi! Bonjour? I'm Hyde, 25 years old from the municipality of San Julian, Eastern Samar.

I was born in Dolores, Eastern Samar (my father's place), and was raised there until I was 3 years old. By the age of 4, my parent decided to settle in our current address where I and my siblings started taking a formal education.

Year 2015 when I graduated from High school and started college on the same year. On 2018, I had my On the Job training at a newspaper publishing company in Tacloban. After the OJT, I was confident and with full hope that I will graduate on time. However, some things are beyond our control, due to personal matters, I had to stop on 2019, a week since the school year started. I was on my 4th year.
I worked and accepted wholeheartedly that I am responsible for the family. Yet, none in my wildest dream that I thought that it will be possible for me to travel abroad.

It was year 2019, I was in Thailand for 1 month vacation with cousin's family.
Year 2021, I have decided to go back on studying until present, still having that hope that this time it is for me.

Borongan is the capital city of Eastern Samar where the sun rise at the east and sets at the west. The city celebrates its town fiesta on the 8th day of September each year in honor of our Lady of the Nativity.

According to the blog wrote by Dr. Lope Coles Robredillo (2002), which expresses the story behind the tradition of the Padul-ong festival in Borongan.
It was stated that the tradition started with a woman from Portugal who sailed a ship with the help of the captain without the crews knowledge. It was a month-long journey without food being served to the woman. The captain happened to forgot about her who was in the cabin. After a long voyage, the ship tried to cross different paths but was not able to pursue headlong due to difficulty on crossing the sea. However, when the ship turns to the East part (Eastern Samar), that was the only time they were able to pass smoothly and docked by the shore of what we know now as Punta-Maria.
The woman in the cabin was found dead by the captain and its crew. Not knowing where the woman was heading, they tried to look at her things with a hope to find something that can tell them where the woman is going. They found a wooden box but the writings on it was blurred and hard to read: Niestra Señora de Br... (Nuestra Señora de Borongan)
