So I’m attracted to women, I think. I think I’m still completely aroace, and am so confused because women are ✨hot✨, and I’m attracted to them, bug I don’t know how I’m attracted to them? Overall I’m just confused. Any advice for how to figure myself out? 😭

Identities are definitely complicated! One of the things that helped me was learning about the different kinds of attraction.

(I wanted to make sure I got them all, so I did some research for you, my lovely. I'm referencing this reddit post for the most part.)

The main types of attraction are romantic attraction, sexual attraction, platonic attraction, aesthetic attraction, and sensual attraction.

Romantic attraction, as we know, is wanting to date someone. Maybe kissing, marriage, building a life together. They give you butterflies in your stomach.

Sexual attraction, something we're also familiar with, is obviously wanting to bone someone.

Platonic attraction is wanting to be friends with someone. You vibe with them.

Aesthetic attraction is liking and admiring their style or look

Sensual attraction, now, is specifically wanting to do things like cuddle and snuggle someone.

It may be helpful to examine which kind of attraction you're feeling! All of these are independent of each other, so you may be aesthetically or romantically attracted to women without being sexually attracted to them, or vise versa! Think about what you're attracted to in women and what that attraction makes you wanna do!

(This is gonna be a long one, so buckle up.)

I'm going to tell you a story, my lovely, as an elder (ooc: enby) lesbian.

Way back when, I met a woman. We shall call her Mari. She was friends with my friends and tagged along with us for lunch. We started talking and our friends decided to try and set us up. They didn't need to try hard. She liked me and I liked her, though I was too oblivious to see that my interest was reciprocated at first.

I was nervous at first, so rather than manufacture an entirely new date, I invited her along to a dinner I already had planned. Granted, I was broke, so it was a trip to Burger King before my therapy appointment, but it gave us a chance to talk and bond just the two of us. It actually started raining on our way there, so I covered her with my jacket bc she'd just done her hair (#black-girl-hair). This gave her an incentive to see me again.

And that, my lovely, is how mod got their first girlfriend as an enby lesbian.

Now, that's a nice story, but how does this help?

Well, I think an important thing to take away is that it doesn't always have to be a big giant date, especially for your first time, and especially if you're on the younger side or a bit more awkward like me. Invite them to small things to get to know each other and figure out the vibes.

Another reason I told you that story is to give you a little hope. It doesn't matter where you are in life. You don't have to be crazy rich or particularly good with people. I was very much neither at the time, but Mari and I still hit it off over burgers at an awkward time for dinner because, and here's the next lesson, I was myself. I came to her as I was, and she welcomed it with open arms, something you deserve too.

Okay, so, let's get into something more digestible!

Put yourself out there! Sadly, if you stay inside and never talk to anyone, there is not a goddess who will grant you a girlfriend. (@aphrodite-offical you should definitely work on that) Whether it is taking walks, going places with your friends, or hanging around online spaces, go to places you wouldn't mind finding someone! (This is so cliche, but I met Mari through hanging out with fellow art/theater kids! I wasn't looking for a partner, but I found one through being able to connect with similarly minded people.)

Be You! 👏YOU👏DESERVE👏TO👏BE👏LOVED👏FOR👏WHO👏YOU👏ARE👏

Love Yourself. If you can't be at peace and cherish yourself, not only will you not have the confidence to take necessary leaps or establish boundaries or communicate, but you can unintentionally leave yourself vulnerable to unhealthy relationships. If you don't respect yourself, you are more likely to let others disrespect you and your boundaries, and we need to stay safe, my lovely

Take the risk. Ask. It's hard, but you can't get the reward without the risk. You don't have to ask her to be your girlfriend or of no where, in fact you shouldn't, but if you never ask, it won't happen. Do something, even if it's baby steps.

Above all, I think it's also important to remember it's okay to make mistakes. We need those to grow. Experiment and figure out what works for you.

Haha we just took him to the vet cus he puked and at some weird thing around his eye and the vet said it’s probably just a stomachache?????? So we’re doing bloodwork (which cost like $550) and monitoring him.

Im kinda scared rn cus my cat was meowing outside my door and when I opened it, he lead me to his food and then to the middle of the kitchen and all he was doing was walking around my legs and he hasn’t really done that before so im assuming he’s slowly dying cus cats tend to start acting differently when they’re abt to die and idk but id do without him 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
