the real struggle is telling your last name that contains a letter that literally only exists in your language to foreigners,,,, they don't understand, you're not able to spell it properly and in the end you're both like ?????!
White privilege is never having to spell your last name.

i have decided to stan him forever
I had a test in a data managment today and my teacher included a question about Chidi Anagonye being indecisive about sweater vests.
He is truly the most iconic teacher like ever. I stan.

let's not forget "i'm not sure what exactly this word means but i've seen it used in a sentence once so i'm just gonna use it in similar context and hope it makes sense"
ah yes, my favourite foreign language feel, “I know what all of those words mean individually but not together like that”

For any of you who are writing ‘across the pond’-here is a little guide I put together of some common differences between British and American English!

#and that's the tea
broke : alfred is a bi icon woke : “ victoria “ is a homophobic tv show that attracted queer people’s attention by promising a gay love story , while in reality created a historically inaccurate character with intention to kill him off in a couple of episodes , ultimately doing it right after showing the long anticipated kiss between the two male characters , and introducing us yet again to the infamous “ bury your gays “ trope , after which they quickly rushed to put the still living character of the pair ( who has been explicitly shown as gay before , whose practically only line in the first season was saying how good looking a man is , and who’s always seen women as friends , which was also explicitly stated in the show multiple times ) in a relationship with his female friend , who he’s never showed interest in before , in order to not overcomplicate things for themselves and make sure the homophobic audience sticks around to watch the show

she had no problem to portray half of the events and characters inaccurately but suddenly there's a problem when it comes to a gay storyline? suddenly everything has to stay 100% accurate? except for... like... the fact that they were never actually together in reality. or the age difference. or that they probably wouldn't even have met. or literally anything else regarding the relationship, but drummond just HAD to die because that's what happened irl and it HAS TO be that way. there was no problem with accuracy when harriet's husband died like 20 years earlier than he was supposed to, just so ernest and harriet can continue with their relationship. (and since we're at it, i wonder what they're gonna do with ernest and harriet's storyline in the next season. are they gonna pretend it never happened too?)
5 AM thoughs (long post im sorry)
So I just finished binge watching series 2 and I had a thought. If they don’t mention the M'Naghten rule at least once in s3 (even briefly) introducing Drummond as a character would have been a complete waste of time. Firstly, Drummond’s entire character was completely off, his age was split in half, he was engaged despite the fact that real life Drummond was never married (or engaged) and he and Alfred had a gay relationship even though that’s pretty improbable. Then, they decide to kill him off, crying ‘Historical accuracy’ even though his story and the show itself is historically inaccurate (ep 6, the Irish famine.) But it gets worse, having decided that they need to kill him off, they don’t even have the decency to get his death right, they have him die after the repeal of the corn laws (he was dead a few years before this,) in a dramatic display of heroism, ignoring the fact that it was a case of mistaken identity. But then they have him die instantly, instead of 5 days later like he actually did, (FYI this would have meant Alfred and Edward could have had a goodbye, but no daisy didn’t give a damn.) But you know what, I could forgive all of that, because I understand that his death led to the M'Naghten rules being introduced, these still being in use today, but you know what I couldn’t forgive? I couldn’t forgive them basically re-writing the history of Edward Drummond, basically creating a whole new person, then killing him off and not even bothering to mention the ONE reason why his death was significant or the One reason it ‘needed’ to happen! That I couldn’t forgive!
#accuracy who? never heard of her#maybe i'm even more bitter than i thought#nothing makes sense honestly#yo daisy what the heLL#not to sound petty BUT-
