Hm, I do agree. I don’t think it would be deserved, but you are right. These lil critters are kinda funny looking, and I’d support their hype a lot more if the consumerist culture around them wasn’t so rampant.

Then again, I’d bully ANYONE who fought a child to buy a stupid keychain or blind box. The people lining up down the street and buying them out… what are you doing? Wait for a restock or just save yourself money 😭

I hope I didn’t come across as accusatory, I didn’t think you were claiming I was bullying them… I just wanted to make sure my message came across. I was sort of preaching to the choir, but I under stand how I might have been harsh.

Though I definitely agree, this wasn’t meant to bully anyone for owning a Labubu— The issue is simply those who buy into micro trends, only for them to end up in a landfill in one or two years. If they will be a lifelong companion, then by all means, buy the dang Labubu! But if you’re just buying it because it’s popular… maybe reconsider. I may be biased because I’m privileged to be an artist, but if you really want one, try making one yourself out of clay and an upcycled teddy bear or a basic sewing pattern! You can make one with an old fleece blanket for Pete’s sake— keep things out of the landfill AND make something you might actually keep forever! If it’s not worth your money, I think a DIY mindset is one step toward reducing waste, carbon emissions, and a step toward protecting the environment. Long story short: Buy things because you love them, not because they are popular. Save yourself, save your money, save the clutter, and most importantly: save the planet.

Watched several films I wanted to watch while on long flights, I’m very delighted with myself. I viewed Ernest and Celestine, Dogman, and The Day the Earth Blew Up, as well as finally watching the larger part of But I’m a Cheerleader. Enjoyed them thoroughly!

I'm so behind on my drawing prompts list and I haven't actually gotten much done.... so have this, I guess 😬

Ignore the goofy pose, the sketch I worked off of was from an in-between shot on one of my projects.

This is my version of Juno! I combined a lot of stuff from the musical and the movie, then put my own lil twist on it

I like the idea of her being Beej's mum, so that rings true for my Beej also, and, in typical fashion, she is awful to him

Almost definitely gonna add a bit more to her design later, buuuut I probably won't take anything away, so I feel good about sharing this version (keep an eye out for any upgrades next time you see her)
