It was my first day at Shean Woods High, the most prestigious highschool for performing arts. It was well known for the amazing singers, dancer, producers, pianists, actors/actresses and much more. I was another that got lucky enough to pass the auditions, I was nervous, I had to admit that. I mean I was literally in a top school, it was a dream come true. This was my chance to prove everyone who had doubted my career choice wrong. I was ready to face anything that came my way. I promise myself that no matter what, I will never fail completely. I couldn't let myself down, I needed this break through, it could finally be my escape. ,
Join me, a 16 year old girl on this adventure, maybe I could perhaps have new friends, maybe someone more than a friend? Who knows, anything is possible if you put your mind to it, right? That's what Grandmother always said before she left us forever, without a goodbye, I need to make sure she was still proud of me in heaven.
Luna Jane Parker, the protagonist of this story. She was 16, worked a part time job to put food on her table, her blonde hair growing longer. She didn't have extra money for a trim even, no one knew about her situation, after her parents divorced 2 years ago, her mom became absent from a lot. Luna's mom was barely home, she learned how to make do with her old withered clothes in the winter. Her dad had took her brother with him, as he got custody of him and her mom got her. Her dad and brother moved to LA, leaving her to fend for herself (unknown to them).
Luna worked in the noon, wore old clothes, ate ramen and instant food. She parented herself, threw herself into studying becoming top of her class, she still practiced her singing and dancing but not as much as she cared to admit she wanted to. After a while a social worker showed up at her house. The woman explained they had gotten a complaint about her living alone as minor.
Luna, was then placed with her dad as her mother was faced with negligence, child abandonment and child endangerment. She was reunited with her brother after 2 years. He wrapped in a warm and somehow comforting embraced, her brother looked great, his brunette hair, brown eye and sweet smile made her feel at ease. "Lulu! I missed you so much." her brother Jake said as he tightened his grip around her.
Luna was malnourished, and quite thin. Her dad's new wife erged her to eat the fresh food, it was the first bit of motherlyness Luna had felt in 2 years. No more instant food, proper meals, but still she felt the need to be careful, the trauma was still fresh. She ate very little and packed away the rest to keep in her newly awaited clean room. She held the box of food as though it was her life line.
She slowly walked into the room, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She no longer had to worry about bills, meals or school fees. The room slowly became hers, it had a picture of her grandmother and grandfather framed, by her bedside table. She claimed it was the most important and priceless thing she owned. She looked at every morning with determination in her eyes. Soon came the day, the big audition for Shean Woods High. She practice over and over, perfecting her dancing, singing and acting as much as possible.
She arrived at the auditions, her dad drove her, she was quite scared. She excited the car, her baggy jeans slightly dragging as she walked up the stairs of the bright and lively school. She waited in the office for the principal, later a few teachers joined to watch Luna's audition.
Luna stood, preforming a scene from The Penthouse :: War in Life, the scene was perfect as she acted as the freaked out and anxious Ha Eunbyeol. Then Luna stood in the middle and did the dance for the song I AM bye IVE and sang the song as well. Most would say it was a good audition and she actually did good. This brings us to the present day, where our Luna stood in Shean Woods High, nervous as she looked for her locker and put in the combination.
She was talking to brother about how nervous she was and scared she might mess up.
