𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 is kang yumi's first single release. it was released on july 14, 2023, as a single. it is the artists first single and it was a surprise release. yumi has credits for lyrics, and composure of the song. it is still unknown if the single will be promoted on music shows.

𖦹 . . . 𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 live !

on july 13, 2023 at 11:50 pm ( kst ), yumi began an instagram live named: "what I'd do 4 you". when the fans entered, they saw yumi sitting on her bed, her tablet propped up on it showing the countdown of a lyric video on youtube. fans quickly went over to youtube to see that the enhypen youtube chanel was premiering the lyric video for a song, the tittle of the video being: “BIGGER PERSON — KANG YUMI”.

yumi then explained how this was a surprise song she had been working on for a couple months; “this has been a project i've been working on since february. it is very dear to me and I can't wait to show it to the world.”

while the 10 minute wait time passed, yumi spoke with her fans and answered some questions they had. she wanted to connect with the in the time she had before the song was out.

bigger person dropped on july 14, 2023 at midnight. yumi watched the lyric video with her fans on live and throughout the video you could see yumi's eyes start to water as she tried holding back her tears.

“this song has a piece of my heart. i never thought the song would see the light of day. I'm very grateful it did though.”

she then went on to explain the meaning behind the song and why it was so dear to her: “bigger person is about a relationship where you are constantly taking the blame, constantly making sure the relationship stays afloat. i wrote it not with no particular romantic relationship in mind but I think this song can be related to either a romantic or familial relationship. I have experienced this for a long time and wanted to shine light on these types of toxic relationships which are, sadly, a lot in our generation.”

as the live neared it's end at 12:30 AM, there was a knock on yumi's door to which she told the person to come in. yumi's face lights up as the enhypen members are heard entering her room, a cute cake with 'bigger person's written on it coming into frame. the members had stayed up to congratulate her on her song. at this sweet gesture, yumi broke down in tears. happy tears. the live was needed shortly after.

She was nervous. She felt like she was gonna pass out. She wanted to do this for the longest time and now that she did it, it doesn't feel real. It hasn't hit her yet. She knows why she's nervous. Of course she does… but she knows she doesn't have to be. It honestly felt weird but comforting to call them parents. But they deserve to be called that. They took her and her siblings in and raised them. It's been about four years since the crimsons took her and her siblings in as their adopted children and she's so grateful for them for doing so.

She's felt safer and happier with them in these four years than she did with her biological parents for thirteen years. So she wanted to do a little something. She knew it wasn't little and truthfully it wasn't. The legal name change process was a pain in the ass. She had to submit a ton of paperwork and that took a lot of time.

She's so lucky that Ivy knew someone in the legal office in vancouver that could help Bella out. (She doesn't quite understand how the older mentioned knows everyone and their mom). But it still was such a hustle. But she's so happy that she's finally changed it. She's officially Bella Ruby Crimson now and not Bella Ruby Smith. Now hearing her new one, the old one didn't even sound right. Bella Ruby Crimson felt right, just perfect. Her siblings had all agreed that they would too change their names once they are legal of age. Now, she just had to tell her parents. Nervously she stepped inside of her house. She was back with the family for the holidays and she felt like it couldn't be a better time to tell them. Spending a few days with them before Christmas felt very different. She moved out just a few months after they got adopted so she couldn't spend much time with them and try to get to know them that much. But don't get her wrong, whenever she was back home on leave from training she would always spend it with them.

They knew everything about her. They also knew about her boyfriend when they accidentally walked in on them facetiming once and from then one, there's literally nothing they don't know. She's had various nights from when she was a trainee and when she wanted to give up, but her parents were there for her. She would call them at like 3am korean time and they would still pick up without complaints and start comforting her. They facetimed her when her siblings graduated middle school and on the first day of high school. They even called her to seperate them after a fight they siblings had. They loved her with all their heart and she couldn't be more thankful and happy that she found a family like this. Family, she smiled at the word. She never thought she'd have parental figures after her biological parents left them up for adoption. Now she has a family picture of the crimsons hung up in the entrance of her house. They were family. Not by blood but it doesn't always have to be that way. Sometimes, she feels like she can be a kid around them. A kid that she was never once one. She grew up always protecting her siblings and she never had a proper childhood herself. But her parents and her members made her feel like she could be a carefree child with them. And she was forever grateful for that.

So when the family gathered around Christmas Eve night to open the pre-presents, she felt the nervous ball in her stomach. She honestly got a lot of stuff for them. She had gotten a lot of skincare from Korea for her mom and sister and she got a new espresso machine for her dad, for which she was scolded by her mother for wasting her money on something so stupid. She got a new camera that her brother wanted, she got her sister a brand new electric guitar signed by her good friend and older brother / mentor woosung because she's obsessed with 'the rose' these days and wouldn't stop screaming about him. And she promised her mother that she would help renovate her little library while she's here. And she promised her father that she'd accompany him during his daily walks. Now after opening and watching everyone open their gifts, alex – Ruby's brother looked at her as if asking her when she was gonna tell them. She sighed one last time calming her nerves before saying, "okay we have one last present for the both of you".

Her parents were asking her when all of the siblings discussed it and stuff as Bella got up to get the envelope. Smiling, she gave it to them and watched them open it up. They looked pretty confused. She could see her sister recording the scene that was about to unfold. Her father was the one to take out the paper first. But he didn't know what was new or even if something was different. Her mother noticed it first. Of course she did, she noticed everything. She looked at the paper and at Bella's face back and forth for a few seconds before tearing up and getting up to hug her. That's when her father noticed it. She could see the tears forming in his eyes and she motioned him to join the hug which he did. Pulling away from the hug, her mother asked "bella- when, how ?" Laughing at her reaction, bella wiped her own tears before answering "I wanted to always do it and after dozens of paperwork later, it was here. Ivy unnie helped tho. But you guys deserve it. Like- this is just a small thing I can and want to do. It means a lot to me, us and you've taken care of us so much so I thought it was about time I do it" hugging bella again, her mother whispered "the best thing i could ask for is you three and i already have it and now you're officially ours" her siblings got up to join in the hug. It was fair to say it was a Christmas they'd remember, forever.

The next morning, Christmas day, bella was woken up to the sound of her mother bragging to everyone and anyone she knew about the best gift that her daughter gave. Bella laughed to herself as she got up to wish them merry Christmas. She got ready for the day and soon she received a few calls back from Korea wishing her merry Christmas. A few notable ones that asked how it went were ivy, yeonjun (who was the only one to know among txt), her manager, and her boyfriend. They were all scolded by bella for staying up late to wish her but they all brushed it off rushing her to tell them how it went. Ivy and yeonjun were together so they facetimed and so did her boyfriend. After telling them everything and laughing at their own teary eyes, she bid the couple goodbye.

Still facetiming her boyfriend, she showed him her family home as he's never seen it and he was complementing every detail. Her mother heard this because of course she did, taking Bella's phone to talk to her future son-in-law (she liked to call him that and every time, bella would turn scarlet at the mention of the word) leaving her standing in the middle of the living room. She only got her phone back about an hour later that too only because the boy in question had fallen asleep on call. Smiling to herself and taking a few screenshots, she ended the call.

Getting ready for the day, she got down to have lunch with her family. The day went by with them going out after lunch and coming back from dinner filled with laughter. After freshening up, she popped her head inside her parents room to tell them good night when her mother patted the space next to her indicating bella to come sit next to her. When she did, her mother took her hand in hers and said, "thank you so much for making me the happiest woman bella. Thank you soo much''. Bella wanted to cry. But she hugged her mother whispering, "no, you're the best mother we could ask for momma. I love you". The mother and daughter duo bid each other goodnight and bella headed to bed.

You could say that bella, for once, had good dreams that day.
