I am trying to remember a book series I read but couldn't finish in middle school
There were two siblings, a brother and sister, they go to live with a relative for the summer. Things are weird. Mildly sus. SOMETHING happens and the kids drink this magic milk(?) And can see the magic world. Faeries, a giant cow, a golum etc. The dangerous pond turns out to have nixies, or sirens I don't remember. The family maid turns out to be one of those nixies or sirens and rejoins her sisters until they trick her back onto land. The sister becomes a fairy queen, I think? And can see the magic world without needing to drink the magic stuff. The brother accidentally turned a faerie evil by trapping her in a jar overnight. He is almost killed over this. The brother also makes a deal, I think, and is eaten by a giant frog and saves himself by going inside a giant pea pod and then eats his way out of the pea pod when the frog(toad?) Turns to stone. I never finished the series because the middle school didn't have the full series and now I'm going insane trying to remember it.

So after seeing Legs from here to Homeworld, I entered my usual state of slightly comatose analyzing everything I’ve just seen. Then I noticed, ALL the crystal gems have Stars with the exceptions of Peri and Lapis, but, well, thats going to change. So having noticed that, I remembered. White Diamond calls Pink “Starlight” was the “stars on the rebels” a homage to White? And what the heck was Pink’s relationship with White? Because knowing this show there has GOT to be a connection. Also, I haven’t noticed anyone else make this connection, maybe I’m just going insane.

The truth about band kids (probably part one)
I'm a Junior in highschool, getting on to my 8th or 9th year of being in a school band. And, honestly I'm tired of everyone assuming it's boring. Okay sometimes it is, I've even fallen asleep in band once or twice, but that's why we have each other. And I'm telling you all this because I was inspired, I spent a good half-hour petting and scratching my former color guard sophomore (freshman?) friend like she's a cat while she played on my phone. And that's not even the weirdest thing I've done or seen behind the concrete walls that separate entertaining insanity from... normal insanity. I couldn't begin to start about the inside jokes, the stuffed animals hidden around the band room, or the time my teddy bear covered in fake blood sat on top of the old T.V for a whole semester. There's also the fact that we're all salty about the lack of funding we get. But band is where you make memories, or in some cases nearly get dragged into a closet with a hot horny Senior boy...I think I regret not going in, instead we stuffed it full of random band members and...yeah it was weird, but funny as hell.
We're the kids who will rule the world, but for now we prefer to eat donuts and Hold 23 then Float 16.
