Title: It was all going okay, until it suddenly wasn't. [November 16, 2023] - - - I finally made a Bluesky account. Added it on the website, but here you go. I don't use Social Media that much, really, but it is nice to have an account that I can actually log into again after all this time. This seems to be where everyone's settled on going, so I've at least signed up for it. https://bsky.app/profile/robynmarkius.bsky.social Y'know, I thought 2023 had been: A Year.

It was going fairly well this year, for most of it. We finally moved out of the old apartment and moved into a new place. The cats had settled in and picked their favorite humans. I was getting used to life again, I was progressing in my personal life...

And then politics began happening. They got progressively worse. We could see the bullet train heading right for us and we yelled and yelled til we couldn't yell anymore. And then we cried. We sobbed. We hugged one another. We still can't believe the devastation that train has caused the last time it crashed through the station, and this time, it's going to take out so many innocent people and so much structure it's really hard to see how we're gonna come back from this.

But we have to come back from this. You are not alone in being afraid. You are not alone in feeling sad, scared, and betrayed. You are not alone in questioning if there was anything more you could have done.

But we do need to start over.

Together.

We need to keep hold of community and we can't let them break us down nor apart. We have to keep fighting for what we have so we can build on it and make things better. Hold on to your neighbors, your friends, and your loved ones. Do not let them tell you that you are lesser. Do not let them tell you that you have no power, and do not believe that you have none. Because you do.

We do.

Together. I hope no matter what's going on, that you manage to have a wonderful Holiday Season, and please take care of yourselves, and be safe.

December 2023 - We All Deserve A Pizza Party After This Year

Hello everyone. 2023 has been: A Year. I certainly hope it's been better for all of you. Time has gone by in the blink of an eye and I can't believe it's nearly 2024 already.

Boy, I don't know where to start… Well, actually, here's a good first note: I lost access to my Twitter back when it… "changed hands". I couldn't log in anymore and eventually, all my cached logins just stopped working, so I was left just kinda… in the air. Still can't access my account, and frankly, I just don't want to. I was never really on there much, I only had the account because everyone else had one. I actually had a personal Twitter and a site Twitter.

Back in July was the first big event. Our beloved cat of 15 years, Ichigo, passed away. It was difficult, and it was also my partner, Loki's, first real loss of a companion animal, so it hit him particularly hard.

I was just beginning to feel like I was recovering from that at the end of August. Then, at the beginning of September, my mother passed away quite suddenly. I had to go across the country to handle that for nearly a month.I'm extremely grateful for all the help our friends and his family gave us during that time. Thank you all so very much. ❤ At the same time; in FFXIV; my Main Static dissolved, and my Alt Static went on hiatus, so I had little to come back to after all that. It was difficult to deal with, and still is; the holidays are proving to be very rough. Though, some good news: We have inherited two lovely girl kitties from my late mother, who are now part of our family. ♪

This all impacts the site a bit, as the PayPal I have been using for over 20 years was my mother's due to circumstances. With her recent passing, I have had to close that account and make a new one. It unfortunately locked the username "RobynMarkius", so my new PayPal.me link is now "ShadowSenshi". I've updated the link in the site's navigation. Oh! And I finally got the "display most recent video from YouTube" to actually automatically pull the most recent upload rather than making me have to update it manually. So happy for that.

We Have a Store Now!

Hey, everyone! Guess what! I managed to get a store started! It took a little to get he DNS to settle. It's through Teespring, and I plan on putting more on there. For now, you can buy the [Chibi-Angel] you see on my YouTube videos if you'd like, or you can buy [Aph and Popo holding an LGBTQ+ Flag] for yourself or someone you want to support. :3 I tried to make a bunch of the flags, so I hope you can find something. ❤

As a member of the LGBTQ+ Community myself, I really wanted something that people could buy to help support the things that I do, but that would also make them feel happy. I've always had a hard time thinking of what I could offer, so I hope this is something. All purchases are handled through Teespring, so you can shop comfortably and safely.

I've been trying to get back to drawing, despite the computer chair being rather uncomfortable. D: A lot of my sketches have been Chibi, and I think it's just cause that's the quickest thing to doodle for me. I'd like to do some art for the XIV Story; [Shard Weavers]; that's been on a bit of a hiatus due to Shoto's hectic and extremely stressful Real Life. I had lost the sketch I did for two chapters ago, and I'd really like to actually have the character drawn. Hopefully I can get things going again.

Mostly a post to say that we haven't died. Has it really been a year already?

I've been thinking that it may be better to post the old fics on AO3 as their own works, even if I don't like them as much anymore. People still want to read them and they're still partly my work.

It's actually been really hard for me to get motivated to work on code when we only have one functional computer between the two of us. x_x;

I will say that in 2021, I'm uh... I'm glad I never went with my Flash-based website layout I'd tried a while back. lol

What’s this? SailorShadow.net finally has the new design? Why, yes, it’s not a fever dream! After months of putting the url on my YouTube videos, I finally managed to get the design live. I cleared off all the old files and lots of things I’m not using anymore. I cleared up so much space on the server. I do want to warn you that I’m still overhauling pages. The Libraries are down, my art isn’t up yet, the comics are offline, I need to rewrite how those are called because right now it requires me making a new page for everything and it’s hard to keep up with. The Libraries I decided to take down for now not because I don’t want to share the old fics anymore, but because they’re such a mess, code-wise, that it would break the brand-new and clean code I finally have on the site. I want to make sure the Libraries, Galleries, and my intended FFXIV Page(s) will all be smooth and easily updated when I eventually change the layout to another character... which I will, because that’s how I am... But both I and Loki decided that the site works, and it would be better to put up the working website and slowly build up the old stuff again than to let the old one sit there and never be updated. We’re on our way to actually being a lot more dynamic and I’m very happy with these base steps. It’s so much less crap for me to go through to update and fix things. Thank you all so much. Website Progress Update [01/04/20]

☆I noted everything that's broken and redirects to the reseller/'theolddotcom'. I haven't gotten to fixing them on the Live Site yet. It's both frustrating and a bit heartening to know that my intentional redirects actually worked as intended... but uh... now I gotta fix a bunch of stuff. ^_^;;;

☆I deleted a bunch of unused databases. Three databases were absolutely empty... wtf, self.

☆I removed a bunch of old and useless files from the Server. "I haven't played on FurryPaws in like... 12 years...? Man, I need to not be such a PackRat... I can't even play WoW anymore, why do I still have these screenshots!?"

☆I signed up for Archive of Our Own for another writing project I'm part of. I will look into how frustrating it would be to put the fics on there as a backup option.

♡I'm posting an update on what I do have done because I'm trying not to let my Anxiety overwhelm me. I've been stuck for the last half an hour just overthinking everything I'm doing, (and not doing,) as well as second-guessing my decisions and ideas.

My biggest hurdle right now is that I want to make the site as accessible as possible and I want to offer the fics in a readable format. I also struggle with whether I should even continue using databases or not, primarily because of the Guestbook Debacle. I don't want to be unreachable, but so far, everything I have tried to put in place has ended up drowned in spam and/or broken.

I'm posting on Tumblr because I don't like Twitter as much... but I have thrown some Tweets, because I do see you, 2 followers. But aside from that, the character limit makes actual status updates harder for me.

2019 was kind of a bad year.

It culminated in my loss of my domain name (SsilorShadow[dot]Com) to a Domain Reseller with nothing I can do to regain a domain that I owned for 20 years. I thought I had renewed it, but I didn't, and so, it got snatched as soon as the Grace Period expired without my notice.

I do still own SailorShadow.Net and .Org, and I purchased .us to make myself feel better at the loss. I made .Net my Primary Domain now, so please use that to access the site again.

I'm trying to look at the positives, though...

•My e-mail turned into a Spam Dump and there wasn't anything I could do to stop it.

•I haven't been able to send mail for almost 10 years, and now it doesn't matter.

•Maybe losing .Com might kick my ass to get the update done... though, that kept getting put off because I'd think myself into a corner with trying to overdo the fancy CSS. I should just go with simple, instead of trying to make super fancy cool tricks work.

Maybe 2020 will be better, and less of a huge Garbage Fire. See you in 2020, everyone.

Friends and Awesome in Sailor Moon Drops!

The SUPER WONDERFUL AND ADORABLE gem-matching game Sailor Moon Drops has been out in Japan since September 2015, but an English language version was just released April 2016 in Canada and the US! (Edit: And it works in Australia, too!)

I’ve been playing the Japanese version all this time, and I can’t recommend it enough. Have a look through my Sailor Moon Drops tag for the whys, but basically it’s packed full of detail and love from the game devs. They clearly care a lot about Sailor Moon (the anime version specifically in this case), and it shows in absolutely everything they do.

Having it in English now only makes it that much better for those of us who know that language and not Japanese. There’s a bunch of people finally jumping in and trying it, AND YOU SHOULD TOO.

There’s a huge buzz for filling up those thirty friends spots, too. Friends can send each other hearts every day (which let you keep playing when you run out of lives), and can be used to unlock the next chapters on the map for free (without spending crystals or worrying about collecting keys).

I have a lot of people sending me their friend code to publish, WHICH I LOVE I WANT EVERYONE PLAYING THIS GAME. But it’ll all be a messy flood on my dash, PLUS you’re subject to waiting on me to get to them. Instead, then, I thought we could use this post as a general hub for friend codes and make it easier for people to find each other.
