“You better trust me! I’m your best friend!” she screeched teasingly across the arena as she tried to push her way through the wall of bumper cars to catch Nevaeh. If she were her, she’d use her super speed to get ahead of the game, although that might not make the whole thrill of the sport quite as much fun. Finally Sydney maneuvered toward Nev, a proud beam on her face. That was until Owen’s car came colliding into hers, Farrah in the passenger seat. Not that Sydney had met either yet, but her friend filled her in.“Hey, you guys! Wanna help me team up on Nev?” she asked loudly enough to purposely let her bestie hear.
Her grin grew a bit more. "Alright, alright. I trust you!" She hollered back over to her as she made her way around the floor, trying anything she could to keep away from her. No way was she going to give up and let her crash into her so easily. All her pride would probably slip away in an instant if that happened. When she heard word of teaming up on her, her eyes went back over to her best friend, spotting the two in the other car. "Hey, you can't do that! They're the enemy too, Syd!" With a dramatic groan, she made her way to the other end of the track, keeping her distance from both of the cars. Tag teaming was never a good thing when on the receiving end. It meant no way out.

"Oh, I know, Syd. Just making sure that hasn't changed the few years we were apart because I certainly still plan on telling you everything. That is if I can trust you." Her eyebrows rose slightly at her friend, a small smile on her lips to give away that she was only joking. She'd never stopped trusting her, especially after she kept her secret of being a mutant for so long. She wasn't sure what she would have done if she went off and told someone. Her grin only grew as she heard the name from the other girl. "Bet you can't catch me, Syd!" While usually that would be true with her power, this was all a fair game and she'd play by the rules and not use that speed of hers. Moving across the floor, she tried to keep away from her.
iamtwinkletoes:
“That’s a great question, but isn’t the whole point of our friendship to not keep secrets?” Her eyebrows rose over at her friend as she got herself out of the jam. Her reply had been a bit more of a tease, to tag along with the kiss and her apparent non innocent dreams. Though noticing her red cheeks, she realized she may have taken it more seriously. She was quiet for a moment before laughter bursted through when she got hit again. “The whole point is to bump into each other, Syd! You’re on your own.”
“It is; you know I tell you everything. probably things you don’t even want to know!” she laughed from afar, not really caring at all who caught their conversation. She figured Nevaeh was just teasing about wanting anything, but that didn’t keep Sydney’s mind from wandering a bit. “You traitor!” she called out, a sound of amusement in her tone. After messing with the gears for like the millionth time, Syd finally maneuvering out of the mess, a bright, scheming smirk on her lips as she whizzed toward her best friend.

“That’s the point, my darling, Nev. What kind of enigma would I be if I just gave everything away like that? And yes. Anything.” She felt even her own cheeks heat at that, curious what it was exactly her best friend might even want from her. Sydney giggled as she noticed Nevaeh was now stuck as well, but of course she freed herself quickly, the brunette’s laughter stifled as another bumper car slammed into her. “Help meee!” she exclaimed toward Nevaeh as she boiled over with laughter.

Sydney’s thoughts about everything confusing and sad in her life were temporarily halted by the distraction of bumper cars. She was terrible at maneuvering them though, even with Nevaeh’s guide and coaching. “Sometimes, maybe! Although these would be the more innocent ones,” she mouthed over the sound of cars colliding into each other, and the boundaries of the driving arena. again, she twisted around but found herself trapped between the wall and Nev’s car. “Don’t you wanna spare me?” she plead teasingly, fluttering her eyelashes in a flirtatious gesture. “I’ll do anything you want!” She tried to back out of the corner, but failed miserably. The ferris wheel was definitely more her speed.
"You confuse me so much, dear Syd." Chuckling, she pushed the controls forward more keeping her trapped. They were supposed to be having fun, and letting her go easily was not the way to do it. "Anything?" She wiggled her eyebrows a bit, grinning. After another moment though, she pulled back, turning the car so she could turn away from her. Accidentally, she bumped into someone behind her and she got trapped between the two cars. Moving the controls around, she started to maneuver her way out of the jam. "And now I'm stuck." Laughing, she started to get out, pushing the car behind her a way from get as well.

"Oh, I know." Her grin grew over at her best friend as the ride had turned on. Nevaeh wasn't sure at all what her feelings were doing to her right now, but she was definitely interested to hear exactly what these dreams were that Syd was having. And were they new? Or had she been having them for a while. Though, she also wanted to hear more about the dreams of her parents, as long as she was okay sharing. She wanted to help her get them back. It had been a long time since Nev had been to a carnival, and just as long since she had rode the bumper cars, but that didn't mean she wasn't confident in knowing she'd be great at them still. Her eyebrows rose as Sydney apologized to the person then grinned again at her words. "Only in your dreams, Syd." Starting to move the car, she dodged another player and made her way around the floor.
iamtwinkletoes:
“There is no one else on Earth I’d rather have in that position.” Everything happening was beginning to honestly confuse her. The kiss starting it all. When the two were younger, some of their friends or other classmates would always joke that they were always so close they might as well be dating. From time to time after that, she would occasionally wonder what that would even be like. If it’d be awkward since they were best friends. Of course, she had always seen it as the others messing around, but now she kind of wondered if Syd really did feel that way. Or if she was just being her old flirty self. Her eyes rolled as she spoke about her dreams, that only made her thoughts wonder more. Getting into one of the cars, she grinned over at her. “You wish, Syd.” As the ride readied, she started to move hers around, turning to look at her friend. “The two bars to each side of you. Pull them back to go backwards, push them to go forward and they twist a bit to go left or right.”
“Thank you, Nev. That means a lot. and I hope you know I feel the same about you.” She did mean that; Sydney knew that her friend would likely never return her feelings, so, she’d have to settle. In school she had taken the teasing lightly, but the older she became, the more she realized the truth behind her feelings. And then, Nevaeh was gone. She was purposely baiting her a little, because if Nev was truly interested in those dreams, she’d ask again even if the topic had been dropped. It didn’t take long into the ride to discover that she was not made for this; Syd was being bombarded by a few more stealthy drivers. “I thought that’s what I was doing!” she cried, laughter bursting from her. Suddenly her car started to spin and collided with another. “Oops! Sorry!” she called out to the person with a bright smile. “I’m gonna get you, Nev!”

“You better be. You’d be my maid of honor after all, can’t have you disappearing on me.” Ever since they were young, they had agreed to do most everything together, being each other’s maid of honor when they got married being one of the top priority. Though, when Nevaeh had to leave so suddenly, she was scared none of that would ever be able to actually be followed through. It was nice to finally have her back and know everything could return to normal, well for the most part. She kind of wondered if she even would get married, if she was going to be stuck here for the next several years, a wedding wasn’t the best thing to have. That, and she had yet to find anyone anyhow. Her eyes rolled just slightly. “I love all the praise you’re giving me Syd, but I’m not the best human being even here.” She noticed the blush and bit down on her lip a bit. “Hot dreams, huh? I would have never guessed.” As they were ushered forward, she hopped into one of the cars, grinning over at Sydney. “You ready?”
“I damn well better be,” she grinned, though deep down inside something ached at the words. Since they were kids that idea had been a dream come true, but the thought of Nevaeh being with someone else unsettled her. Sydney would always be happy for her of course and support her, but a pang o f jealousy hit. Changing the subject probably wouldn’t be a bad thing. “Hah, right. Most of my dreams are pretty steamy,” she winked before slipping into one of the cars. She was terrible at bumper cars, but it was still fun. “Hell yes. Be ready to eat your words, Nev,” she giggled as she stumbled to figure out how to make the car move. “How the hell do these things work?” she laughed loudly, just as another bumper car slammed into her from behind.

“I’m not jealous yet. I was just stating that if you ever happened to, I would be. I believe you though.” Nevaeh wasn’t really sure how or what she thought of Sydney. Of course she was her best friend and she loved her with all of her heart, but it seemed like Syd was taking it in a bit of a different way. Maybe it was just them being back together that made her act that way, or maybe there were feelings starting to grow there, for the both of them. Her cheeks heated up at her words, and she rolled her eyes to try and divert her thoughts from it. “Oh, shut up. Just for that, I’m not sure you deserve to hear it out of my mouth.” Her eyes fell as her face got redder. “I don’t know about being the best Syd. There are people out there better than me. I’m sure we’ll both find someone though.” Looking past it, she nodded. She’d be fine with talking about it later, she didn’t want to make Sydney talk about it. “Inappropriate? Jesus, Syd, what exactly is going on in that mind of yours?”
“You better believe me. That’s not going to happen, Nev. Even if you go off and marry someone someday, I’ll still be here.” Sydney laughed, though the idea of that made her sadder than she let on. For a long time she’d been in denial about her feelings for her best friend; she no longer was with herself, but was pretty positive Nevaeh was still unaware. She grinned though, proud to be making her blush so much. “Never. You know better than that,” Sydney mused. “And that is so not true – that anyone is better, I mean.” She gave a little nod, even if the idea of them finding other people was underwhelming. Now it was her turn to blush, and she gently led them to the front of the line; they would be in the next group. “I don’t know if you wanna know… but there were some pretty hot dreams,” she waggled her eyebrows, just before they were ushered onto the ride.

iamtwinkletoes:
“I can’t imagine myself much as a jealous type either, but I promise you, that is something I’d be jealous of.” She wasn’t lying, she really would get jealous if she heard her best friend was off cuddling with someone else, probably even if it was someone she’d be dating. She wouldn’t be mad or anything, but she would be a little upset it wasn’t her instead. Syd was killing her with all the flirting though, not necessarily in a bad way. Nevaeh had always found her friend attractive, but they were best friends, she was allowed to think that. However, she hadn’t liked or dated anyone yet at the compound. What if that was her sign that Sydney was the person she should be with? No, that didn’t sound right. “Oh, Syd I’m sure you’d love for me to say that about you wouldn’t you?” Her grin returned as she rolled her eyes playfully. She wasn’t wrong though, but again, Nevaeh knew how her ego was. Or at least how much of it she showed, and she also knew if she said anything, she’d probably tease her or flirt more. Nevaeh kept her smile, nodding at the other girl, but soon she also shook her head. “No, I haven’t met anyone. No one here really seems to be my type.” Her shoulders shook with a small shrug. Then her smile faded. “Syd, we can stop talking about it if you want. Though, if you want to talk about them, we can as well.” She squeezed her hand again. “I’m always here to talk. I hope those ones about me aren’t bad though.”
“You don’t have any reason to be jealous, I promise that. I am completely yours.” Sydney meant it the way it sounded exactly, even if she figure Nevaeh probably assumed she just meant as a friend. She was a shameless flirt, but if she knew that her favorite person would ever give her the light of day in such a way, it would be solely devoted to her. “Hah, caught me. I mean, hearing your sexy self calling me so is a huge boost, sweetie.” Sydney too was grinning now, biting her lip a little as she continued holding her hand. She just couldn’t get enough closeness now that they were reunited. “Well, I don’t know if anyone is deserving of you anyway. You’re the best person in the world. But I hope you find someone that makes you happy.” She kill to be that person. The mention of dreams had a little pang tearing through her, but the brunette shook her head and offered a softer smile. “Thanks. Maybe later, when we aren’t here. It just hit sometimes.” She’d never been one to show weakness, not even to her best friend, but Sydney felt as though sooner or later, she might have a breakdown. “I know you are, Nev. Thank you. And are you kidding?” her smile was back in a flash. “They’re great dreams, although some probably what you would consider inappropriate,” she said honestly.

“They better be. I think I’d get jealous if you were to give them to someone else.” She didn’t care that she was admitting that. She really would get jealous because ever since they were kids, there had always been things they’d do together but never with anyone else and that was one of them. She laughed softly at her friends words, grinning. “Of course I think you’re cute. Much more than cute even.” Her cheeks heated up a bit again as she admitted that. “Well, if you wanted to hold it again, all you had to do was say so. You didn’t have to do it suddenly and pull me.” She stuck her tongue out at the other girl before stepping in line with her. Her eyes flickered back over to her as she went on, her smile fading a bit. “Syd, even if I did meet someone, you’d still always be the first person I allowed in my bed to come cuddle with me.” Her head tilted to the side a bit, her hand squeezing the other girls a bit before her eyebrows raised. “Oh? And why not?”
“I can’t imagine you jealous, Nev. I’m the jealous one. Don’t worry though, they’re always yours too.” She was shocked by the confession, but it also gave her a little pang of hope. They had always done their own kind of thing, even if on a more innocent level than now. Not that they weren’t still, but Sydney was definitely feeling different sparks than for the teenager she’d grown up with. “More than cute, huh?” she grinned fully, admiring how adorable Nevaeh’s cheeks were. “Like what? Sexy?” she questioned out of curiosity. “Sorry, you know I’m eager. Next time I will though.” Sydney squeezed her friend’s hand back, her response was bittersweet. Especially because Nev had avoided part of the question. “Thank you, that means a lot,” she promised softly, giving her a shaky smile. “But, um, did you meet someone?” It would make sense if she had – maybe that was why she’d been so perturbed by the kiss? “Because many are scary, with my parents,” she answered, focusing her gaze on the line to try and avoid tears. “And others, well, many of them involve you.”

“Well, I can understand that, my snuggles are pretty damn great. I missed yours too, but I couldn’t just give them to anyone cause it wouldn’t be the same then.” She let out a sigh at the thought, rubbing the back of her neck. Her lips turned up into a bit of a smirk at her friends reaction. Nevaeh definitely knew Sydney was attractive, she had been since she could remember, but she wasn’t just going to fee her ego anymore. “What would you rather be, Syd?” She stumbled forward a bit as she pulled her along, laughing a bit when they stopped. “You realize I can walk myself right?” Standing up straight again, she met her eyes. “I’m fine giving you cuddles anytime, and I don’t think anyone in the room would mind you in there either.” She paused as she bit down on her lip a bit, shaking her head after a moment. “I’m not too sure, but we can figure something out?”
“Your snuggles are the best, Nev. and same here. My cuddles are always reserved for my bestie.” Despite her outer confidence and boldness, Sydney was more insecure than she let on. Sometimes she fished for compliments, so she couldn’t help but pout at Nevaeh’s answer. “I dunno, pretty much anything else? You could at least say cute, or something. Unless you don’t think I’m cute.” Syd laughed at her friend’s reaction to her grabbing her hand. “Of course I do but I wanted to hold your hand again. Jesus. And good, though I don’t care what anyone else thinks anyway. I’ll keep you in bed all day if you let me. I was just warning that I don’t sleep in much. Unless of course…” she trailed, feeling her stomach knot. “Unless you met someone?” Of course she would be happy for Nevaeh, but deep down, heartbroken. “Maybe we can. I might be able to pull you into one of my dreams, but you may not like what she see,” she joked as they moved with the line again.

Nevaeh was a little frustrated, but she wasn't too sure why. She had done this now many times to Owen, did he feel the same way when she did it to him? If so, she kind of felt bad now, not that she would ever change anything she has said to him yet. He was right now, it was weird that she had never flirted with her in the past, and the kiss. Maybe she did have feelings for her, and maybe Nevaeh had feelings for her too. Not like she would really even know, she'd never really found herself attracted to someone before, but it had felt a little weird having Syd back. In more ways than one. She just shook her head at first. It wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing at all. The two were already close and it's not like they hadn't done weird couple like stuff before, but that was specifically because they were best friends, wouldn't it be awkward if they were more? "I'm not annoyed with you, Owen. I'm just confused."
iamtwinkletoes:
She smiled up at him as he admitted he believed in her as well. She had heard it many times before from other people, but this just felt different. It was probably the brotherly feeling she was getting from him that made it feel so much more special. “Thanks, Owen.” She wasn’t sure what she would do now if he hadn’t came into her life or she were to ever lose him. She found herself caring about him just as much if not more than her own family back home. Though getting into the Sydney thing was slightly annoying, though she didn’t blame him after everything she had said right back to him before. “What? No, just cause Syd is flirting doesn’t necessarily mean she had feelings for me or anything.” She wasn’t sure how she felt herself though. It had been an interesting reunion for sure, threw her off from the moment she kissed her.
Owen could tell he was frustrated Nevaeh a little, but wasn’t that the job of a sibling. Not just the protectiveness, and the sweet exchanges, but also giving the other a hard time? He really was just teasing, much like she had done about Farrah before. “I’m not saying it does, but it is kind of weird that she never really did in the past. people can change over the years, you know. Maybe it’s something more and it just took her a long time to realize it. You being gone, even,” he pointed out gently. “I know you haven’t ever thought of her in that way, but would it really be such a bad idea? Also, don’t get annoyed with me,’ he mused. "Now you see how I felt when you were giving me crap about Farrah.” It was said lightheartedly though, followed up with a smile.

"I'm fine giving you cuddles anytime, and I don't think anyone in the room would mind you in there either." She paused as she bit down on her lip a bit, shaking her head after a moment. "I'm not too sure, but we can figure something out?"
iamtwinkletoes:
“You’re dependent on my snuggles? I mean, I know they’re great and everything, but come on.” She joked, grinning over at her. “Either way, you can have them anytime you want alright?” Her cheeks almost immediately began to heat up again as Syd went on, barely being able to believe the words were coming out of her mouth. She figured it could have just been more innocent flirting, but what if it really wasn’t? “Ah, thank you, Syd. You’re not too bad looking yourself.” She grinned at her, that was until her cheeks got even redder. “What does sleeping in have to do with anything?” She wasn’t going to deny that she probably wouldn’t want to peek at least once. Sydney was definitely attractive and Nevaeh had never thought otherwise, but still it was kind of embarrassing that Sydney was suggesting it. “Hey, that’s not a very nice way to show me your power, Syd.”
“Yes, I am,” she replied in a seriously tone, though there was a playful twinkle in her eyes. “I just about died without them these last several years, so I have a lot of TLC I need to catch up on. But, good. Thank you. Same goes for you, you know.” Sydney was used to being the one usually to initiate such things, but Nevaeh’s offer made her happy. And currently, her heart was speaking for her more than her brain was. She was flirting, of course, but not as innocently as she did with others. “You’re welcome. And not too bad looking?” she stuck her tongue out at her childishly. “I guess I’ll take that.” As the line moved forward she took Nev’s hand again, pulling her with her. “Well, I’m especially needy for cuddles at bedtime,” she chuckled, feeling her own cheeks flush. “It was just a warning is all.” Sydney still didn’t know too much about her power, especially not how to control it, so she pouted a little at her best friend’s response. “I just don’t know how to otherwise,” she admitted gently. “But if I figure it out, of course I’ll show you.”

iamtwinkletoes:
“Oh? So you’re allowed to cry but if I even say I’m gonna do it, I’m a drama queen? Now how does that make any sense, Syd?” Her eyebrows arched at her friend, genuinely curious. She was glad no one had heard their conversation though, definitely a relief. She didn’t have any real problem talking with her friend like that, but she hadn’t been this close to anyone the past five years, it wasn’t necessarily something the people around there were used to. “And why exactly are you wanting to take a peek so badly?” Her head cocked to the side a bit, a small smirk on her lips. She couldn’t keep letting the girl get her embarrassed, so she had to play along. Not that anything she was saying wasn’t true. Her power really did seem cool. As much as Nevaeh loved her own power, she knew there were definitely cooler ones out there, and Syd’s seemed like a great example. “As fun as that sounds, I’m not sure I really trust you with my dreams.”
“I was teasing you of course, Nev. I just feel like I might b more dependent on your snuggles than you are mine, that’s all.” Sydney gave a little nonchalant shrug, her own cheeks heating up. “Um, because you’re stunning? And hot? Like, why would I not want to? For the record, if you wanna peek at me I have no problem with it. I think you should know though that sometimes I don’t sleep in much.” Sydney returned the smirk, laughing as she pulled Nevaeh into the line for the bumper cars. “I can’t really blame you or anything,” she admitted honestly. “I can’t promise that it would be a very appropriate dream if you let me in.”

She smiled up at him as he admitted he believed in her as well. She had heard it many times before from other people, but this just felt different. It was probably the brotherly feeling she was getting from him that made it feel so much more special. "Thanks, Owen." She wasn't sure what she would do now if he hadn't came into her life or she were to ever lose him. She found herself caring about him just as much if not more than her own family back home. Though getting into the Sydney thing was slightly annoying, though she didn't blame him after everything she had said right back to him before. "What? No, just cause Syd is flirting doesn't necessarily mean she had feelings for me or anything." She wasn't sure how she felt herself though. It had been an interesting reunion for sure, threw her off from the moment she kissed her.
iamtwinkletoes:
Nevaeh had been glad that her and Owen were able to get along so well. Not having any siblings was great for the most part, but she had also seen some of her friends with them and would sometimes get jealous that she didn’t have any of her own. Maybe it was just cause she’d love pranking them, but they’d also be another friend to have around. Owen definitely made her feel like she finally had someone like that. She loved Sydney, she did, but this was different than that. While Sydney had felt kind of like a sister when they were kids, as they grew up it just felt different than that. “And I always will believe in you.” Her face scrunched up a bit as he went on about Sydney, the red not fading. “I don’t know how it made me feel, Owen. I mean, it was kind of weird being on that end of it considering I was usually watching her flirt with others, but I – I just don’t know, okay?”
As much as Nevaeh pranked him and gave him hell at times, Owen adored her. He’d do anything to keep her safe, and it meant a lot that she cared about him as much too. Or that she believed in him. He needed that confidence. Although he appeared to be cocky to most, it was all an act. Deep down he was an incredibly insecure person. “And me in you too,” he promise with a soft little smile before teasing more about Sydney. He was about to give her a hard time about not being able to take what she dishes out, but could tell his questions were starting to get to her. Maybe she had feelings for Sydney but hadn’t accepted it yet. “Okay, I’ll drop it, but to me it sounds like you both might be feeling more than friendly for each other. I’m here if you wanna talk about it or anything.”

"Oh? So you're allowed to cry but if I even say I'm gonna do it, I'm a drama queen? Now how does that make any sense, Syd?" Her eyebrows arched at her friend, genuinely curious. She was glad no one had heard their conversation though, definitely a relief. She didn't have any real problem talking with her friend like that, but she hadn't been this close to anyone the past five years, it wasn't necessarily something the people around there were used to. "And why exactly are you wanting to take a peek so badly?" Her head cocked to the side a bit, a small smirk on her lips. She couldn't keep letting the girl get her embarrassed, so she had to play along. Not that anything she was saying wasn't true. Her power really did seem cool. As much as Nevaeh loved her own power, she knew there were definitely cooler ones out there, and Syd's seemed like a great example. "As fun as that sounds, I'm not sure I really trust you with my dreams."
iamtwinkletoes:
“You have no idea what I would and wouldn’t do. Maybe I’ve changed more than you think over the past few years.” She stuck her tongue out a bit at the other girl before smirking at her instead. Her eyes did roam a bit as they stepped off the ride, taking the time to notice that thankfully no one had really taken their time to notice what had been said between the two. It made her relax, not only knowing that, but knowing it was probably because everyone was focused on having some fun of their own. Something that was hard to achieve around there. “Well, if you’re gonna be in my room all the time anyways, I can’t really stop you now can I?” It wasn’t like there were guys in the rooms. Even with tight space, they were able to keep guys and girls separated. Except the families of course that lived in a room on their own. So, she changed by her bed anyways, not taking the time to go to one of the few bathrooms they had, unless she was showering of course. “That isn’t lame, Syd. In fact it sounds pretty cool. You’ll have to show it to me sometime. If that’s possible.”
Sydney shook her head as a titter of a laugh came from her throat. “Mhmm, sure. For the record, I would totally cry if you gave away my cuddles.” They were in the clear – no one had taken notice to her words, no matter how loud they’d come out with the stillness of the teacups. It was nice to be surrounded by such optimism, though Sydney had a feeling it wasn’t always this way and tried to prepare herself for it. “I guess that’s true. I mean, I wouldn’t like, gawk at you if you were uncomfortable with it, but I’d love to peek if you’re not opposed.” She was being her cheeky self. When they were growing up they changed around each other all the time. Sydney hadn’t thought much of it then, but now… she found herself wanting it. She waited for Nev’s reaction to her power, it changing the subject, and although her best friend was full of assurance, Syd still sighed. “Thanks. I still think it kind of it, but at least it can’t be too harmful. Well, I’d love to, but the only way I know how is to manipulate your dreams. I think.”

She raised her eyebrows at him before she smiled softly at him. He really was sweet, even if he didn’t want everyone to believe it. Which was one reason she found it hard to believe that Farrah wouldn’t eventually fall for him. “Thank you, Owen. That means a lot.” It was definitely nice to see him smiling more, though it did suck to see if fading as they went on about Farrah. Not really what she had planned. “Don’t feel shitty, I think you’re making good progress. Soon you’ll be wondering how you ever doubted yourself.” God damnit, he kept switching the topic back to her and Sydney and it wasn’t doing anything but making her even redder. “What? What do you mean did I like it? It was just some harmless flirting.”
“You’re welcome,” Owen murmured back, a little embarrassed that he was getting all sappy, but it was only the truth. “Just telling it like it is.” If nothing else amounted to him and Farrah, or this place, he found someone that was like family to him. That was why he seemed in better spirits lately. “I really don’t know about that, but it’s nice to know someone believes in me,” he shrugged, but gave a soft smile too. Owen definitely noticed the shade darker her cheeks got at the mention of her friend; now it was his turn for payback. “Are you sure? Didn’t you say she didn’t do that before? I just mean, how did it make you feel?”

“You better have.” She narrowed her eyes at her friend. “I’d be very upset if I had saved mine and you hadn’t. I’d probably cry.” She let out a dramatic sigh before her smile returned. She had been surprised when she saw Sydney here, even incredibly scared that she could be hurt or something, but now all she felt was happiness to be around her best friend again. It was just like when they were younger. As the rode died down, she tried to keep the conversation on the down low, but when Sydney spoke up, her cheeks got red once again. She didn’t look around, she couldn’t. She didn’t want to know how many people had heard them. “I never said I didn’t.” She said as she stood, making sure only Syd could hear her now. “That sounds like a great idea, I wanna know about it.” She stepped off the ride, going out the exit gate of the ride and then heading towards the bumper cars once she had caught up.
“I promise I did! But you so would not, you drama queen,” she teased, Nevaeh’s smile quite contagious. Despite the ride ending and their raised voices, no one seemed to be paying them any mind, Sydney noticed. Nev would be happy about that. Everyone was in their own little happy world that night. Her friend looked adorable with a blush to her cheeks, but even Syd’s mouth fell open a little at the response. She wasn’t expected Nevaeh to go along with that. “Well now you’re practically encouraging me,” she winked, giggling as they searched for the ride. She had been putting off revealing her power because Sydney felt it was mostly useless, but Nevaeh deserved to know. “Dream manipulation,” she spoke up with a soft little sigh. “That’s my power. Told you it was lame.”
