I'm happy to know that I'm not the only who gets off vibes from Anthony. I thought I was biased because of my general dislike of "hippie, spiritual, enlightened " people. I've had bad experiences with those kinds of people, some of them are so condescending and self-absorbed.

As for their friendship, I like to think that they're still friends, but whether they are or not, it doesn't really matter if they don't share it, ya know? They don't owe us their friendship, but I don't owe them money, views or attention. My investment in their friendship is practically nonexistent at this point, and I'm pretty sure they want it that way.

His last relationship with Mykie he continued to date her even after all that stuff came out. I think he is selfish and wants what he wants without thinking of anyone else. The entire smosh cast is better than him because all of them actively think about others.

I still think they’re really good friends. They’ve said they watched crappy movies together, hung out at Ian’s place playing the game Ian liked, and Ian said they can talk about everything now. Anthony’s mentioned more than once that their adult friendship is awesome, so I don’t think his comeback was just about them being 17 again.

Honestly, if they weren’t that close, Anthony wouldn’t have offered to pick Ian up six times when his car broke down, wouldn’t still be checking Ian’s IG stories and retweeting them, and all that.

He clearly cares about Smosh, supports the cast during their live shows, helped out with the LA wildfires, and even went with the crew to that pirate show in February. He’s still involved, just not into being on camera anymore.

Him offering to help 6 times was a year ago 😭 and Ian openly said to him that him unfollowing Ian shows his lack of interest *in him* directly and Anthony is still not following him. That was also a year ago too.

He didn't help with the LA wildfire thing the crew was doing everything he highly likely only came to donate, was not in the live charity stream, actually he was not in any of the charity streams.

Idg why we're angry with anthony when we have no idea what happened. If he and Ian aren't getting along, it makes way more sense for anthony to leave than ian, given that ian has way more history with the cast. I don't think it's helpful to assume that Ian is a victim and Anthony an abuser.

I kinda agree with the anon that said Ian and Anthony dont feel like they’d be friends. Obviously there’s so many types of friendship but it feels like in the time they spent apart they grew into very different ppl and maybe they are very close (thats what we’re told anyway) but I feel like when they bought back Smosh they very much went back to “it’s like we’re 17 again!” And now they’ve realized it isn’t always like that. Like I wonder if part of Anthony not being on camera as much anymore is because of them growing apart a little along with all the other stuff. it also kinda feels like they bought Smosh back and then merged the two companies so now it feels almost like Ian’s more in charge of everything that Anthony is. Anthony feels almost more disconnected, sometimes he’ll repost Smosh TikTok’s and stuff on instagram but thats about it in terms of him acknowledging Smosh. I feel a little bad about speculating and talking about all this but at the same time they haven’t given us any clear answers so what else is there to do other than speculate? It’s really hard to just accept all these changes and move on without any actual answers

It does feel that way. Tbh they don't share any interests if you think about it, Ian would talk about trash tv Anthony would talk about yoga, Ian would talk about gossip and Anthony would roll his eyes and talk about zen. When I look at this way they're so opposites on so many stuff. I seen Ian talking about parties and Anthony rolling his eyes talking about how he loves home the best etc. Ian likes to go improve classes with Smosh for example and Anthony would just stay at home painting. I saw Ian begging Anthony to go traveling to Europe or Turkey or somewhere else but as far as we know it never happened. Or Ian kept pushing Anthony to watch dune 2 for like weeks and he didn't, he prefers to watch gaming youtube videos instead.

So like i think nostalgia and love brought them together and kept them together for a while but after some time they realized they're not really that similar and they're not 17 anymore. Like i don't think Anthony is big on humor/comedy atp. So he doesn't enjoy being on the channel much. I hope they spent time together but atp i don't know if they're doing it actually or like they're that compatible. That's just my opinion tho who knows 🤷🏻

Also like you said if they don't give us explanation all we have is speculation, it's inevitable. And about the companies merging i actually feel bad about Ian in that case not Anthony. Honestly, with all the stuff I have been seeing in this fandom recently and with how Anthony hasn’t been around at all, I often wonder now about if there is any point in being in this fandom anymore. With all the speculations around if Ian and Anthony are even still friends and what could have happened to Smosh, I almost wish I never got invested in Ianthony and their story to begin with as I now find myself really not liking some of speculation and discussions around here. (I don’t have an issue with any of the people around here, it’s just that these theories do admittedly make me feel a bit concerned about Smosh and Ianthony and what could possibly be happening behind the scenes, even though I know it is all just speculation at the end of the day) I’m autistic so I can sometimes develop fixations on things and I wish that I can just let go of this fixation on Smosh and Ianthony, but it feels nearly impossible to do so, despite how much I want to just move on to other interests instead. I really just want to accept and move on from the fact that Smosh is so different now in comparison to how it was around the time of the reunion-mid 2024 and that Ian and Anthony might not be best friends anymore, but it really is so hard to do that when this fandom and Smosh as a whole has been a big part of my life for such a while now and how fixated I have become on it partly due to the fact I’m autistic. I almost wish I could just completely forget about Smosh and Ianthony as a whole so that I’ll never have to feel so disappointed with how Ian and Anthony content has just disappeared with Anthony not even being in anything anymore, along with the speculation around if Ian and Anthony are even best friends anymore. I just hate how they literally have not communicated at all to the audience about anything and just silently killed off lunchtime with Smosh, which means that our last bit of Ianthony in videos is now down the drain, likely never coming back. I have felt very disappointed with this and how it feels like Ian and Anthony as a duo will forever be gone from videos now, but my fixation still persists. I just want my interest in them to just die off already so that I can fully go in to other fandoms instead. I hope I’m not coming across as too over dramatic in this ask, I just needed a place to express how I feel about the state of this fandom and Ianthony content as a whole.

The state of the fandom is literally in shambles 😭😭 i am autistic too and i feel exactly the same. I'm not gonna sugarcoat this and say nooo don't leave it's just speculations we don't know it's true etc. Cause i feel the same this shit is tiring atp. No one comes into the fandom to stress over people we come to enjoy the content and have fun not get stressed and anxious and trigger our mental illnesses more. They never communicate, they don't care about us, they don't respect us as fans to even inform us about anything. Anthony doesn't even care to be around Smosh so like why would i care atp?

Fortunately tho i got fucked over by some people (not Ian and Anthony funnily) and now i grow cold to the fandom. Like i don't care about the fandom or ianthony or Smosh atp. I have no advice to give tbh cause I was in the same place. For so long i was in the fandom and I was so obsessed with them invested in them because of my hyper fixation and these last events really make me so tired i don't wanna care atp. So i really really understand what you mean and how you feel but i don't know how you could fix it😭 you need to grow cold of them some way idk that was the only way i broke my hyperfixation finally.
