The International Space Station is our home in low-Earth orbit.

For more than 20 years, our NASA Astronauts have been living and working in space, running scientific experiments to help us learn how to live on other worlds while making life better back on Earth.

Our orbiting laboratory gives us new ways to study diseases and medical conditions, develop new materials and technologies, and protect our changing planet. When they're not running studies, our astronauts are speaking with students, recording demonstrations in microgravity—or just enjoying the view from 250 miles (400 km) up.

1 जून, 2016 को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी में ‘राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन योजना-2016’ (NDMP) जारी की।

देश में पहली बार इस तरह की राष्ट्रीय योजना तैयार की गई है।

राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन योजना की मुख्य विशेषताएं निम्नलिखित हैं।

(i) यह योजना आपदा जोखिम घटाने के लिए सेंडई फ्रेमवर्क में तय किए गए लक्ष्यों और प्राथमिकताओं के साथ मोटे तौर पर तालमेल करेगा।

(ii) इस योजना का विजन भारत को आपदा से उबरने में अधिक सक्षम बनाना है।

(iii) प्रत्येक खतरे के लिए, सेंडई फ्रेमवर्क में घोषित चार प्राथमिकताओं को आपदा जोखिम में कमी करने के फ्रेमवर्क में शामिल किया गया है। इसके लिए पांच कार्यक्षेत्र निम्न हैंः

(a) जोखिम को समझना

(b) एजेंसियों के बीच सहयोग

(c) डीआरआर में सहयोग-संरचनात्मक उपाय

(d) डीआरआर में सहयोग-गैर-संरचनात्मक उपाय

(e) क्षमता विकास

(iv) इस योजना के कार्यकारी हिस्से की पहचान 18 बड़े कार्यों के रूप में की गई है, जिनमें निम्नलिखित शामिल हैं:

(a) पूर्व चेतावनी, मानचित्र, उपग्रह इनपुट, सूचना प्रसार।

(b) पशुओं और लोगों की निकासी।

(c) पशुओं और लोगों को ढूंढ़ना और बचाना।

(d) स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं।

(e) पयेजल/निर्जलीकरण पंप/स्वच्छता सुविधाएं/सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य।

(f) खाद और आवश्यक आपूर्ति

(g) संचार

(h) आवास और झोपड़ियों

(t) बिजली

(j) ईंधन

(k) परिवहन

(l) राहत रसद और आपूर्ति ऋंखला प्रबंधन

(m) पशु के शवों का निपटान

(n) प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में पशुओं के लिए चारा

(o) पुनर्वास एवं पशुधन और अन्य जानवरों के लिए पशु चिकित्सा देखभाल सुनिश्चित करना

(p) डेटा संग्रह और प्रबंधन

(q) राहत रोजगार

(r) मीडिया संपर्क

(v) 6 क्षेत्रों में केंद्र और राज्य सरकारें आपदा जोखिम शासन प्रणाली को मजबूत करने के लिए कार्रवाईयां करेंगी।

(a) मुख्यधारा और एकीकृत डीआरआर और संस्थागत सुदृढ़ीकरण

(b) विकास क्षमता

(c) भागीदारीपूर्ण नजरिये को बढ़ावा देना

(d) चुने हुए प्रतिनिधियों के साथ काम करना।

(e) शिकायत निवारण प्रणाली

(f) आपदा जोखिम प्रबंधन के लिए गुणवत्ता वाले मानकों, प्रमाणीकरण, आदि को बढ़ावा देना।

(vi) राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन योजना आपदा प्रबंधन चक्र के सभी चरणों के लिए सरकारी एजेंसियों को रूपरेखा और दिशा प्रदान करता है।
