The shards of ice don’t go unnoticed and he wonders what has her on guard. It couldn’t be him - could it? Still, he presents himself as charming as ever, sweeping low into a bow while he smirks. His muscles are tense, ready to fight, ready to run - probably to run. Definitely to not get hit.

There is something almost Vastayan about her and how the magic in the air hums. It gives him pause.

“Uhhuh,” he says, considering her response. It takes him a moment to realize she doesn’t answer his question - what are you. Still, Rakan is a creature of charm and manners (when he so pleases) and he offers a wry smile.

“Name’s Rakan and I’m on a vacation!” he announces to the world. His chin juts proudly upward. It’d taken weeks of bothering Xayah about how they should go somewhere new and exciting to get her to even consider the Freljrod. They’d never met the Vastaya here, he’d pleaded.

He hadn’t considered how damn cold it would be until well after they’d arrived.

Rakan bounces slightly, shifting his weight from foot to foot.

“Now, what are you doing out in the cold, Lissandra?” he purrs, the r in her name rolling easily off his tongue.

    Her eyebrow cocked as the man quickly dipped into a bow with a sly smile on his face. His gestures made her less wary of his power, but his demeanor didn't seem malicious. Almost as if he was trying to warm the ice witch's cold heart. Her eyelids narrowed as her arms had folded over her lap.

    ❝ I've come to deal with a pest that is troubling my home. ❞     ❝ A large beast has wandered closer to my home than I would like it to. So I've come to kill it or force it into retreat out of Frejlord. ❞

    The icicles sunk into the snow, disappearing as quickly as they were sheathed. There was no time to be coy with a Vastaya who chose the coldest of Frejlord for vacation ... without a shirt or jacket. The man's stupidity to go bare in the snow was more charming than his abs.

    She couldn't afford to be distracted, there was an ursine to hunt in the vast forests of the mountain. The queen had already scoured this patch of land high and low to locate it. It was time to search onwards into the deeper parts of the plateau.

    ❝ Now if you pardon me, I need to be on my way. ❞     ❝ I'd recommend going back to where you came from, or possibly just find something warmer to wear out in these lands. Snow squalls are going to be coming soon. ❞
