anyway it says a lot that elain archeron can look directly and openly at Azriel's visceral scar tissue in the sunshine and murmur dreamy kind things when Azriel has never been able to physically look at that part of himself without emotionally wincing for centuries.
that's all it really boils down to.
and probably why he's been staring at something as innocuous as headache tonic every night for a year straight.
Nobody stares wordlessly at ibuprofen like a religion.
Unless perhaps they are falling in love.

This fandom is literally driving me crazy. I'm randomly watching a tiktok and Rhys is telling Azriel to stay away from Elain which makes me laugh and I go to the comments and people are writing things like 'Elain doesn't deserve him, Elriel 👎, Azriel just wants a mate' and my face drops people don't know how to have fun I want to buy the Elriel book and never look back at this fandom again, they bother me so much
Same here! I just stick to my own bubble at this point and pray I’ll get the elriel book sooner rather than later. The “ship war” (is it even that lol) is so exhausting.
It’s also part of the book-tok-ification of romance that just freaking sucks.

Do you think Az still has feelings for Mor in ACOSF? He still seems jealous of Helion: "Where's my beautiful Mor?" Az said tightly, "Away."
No. That’s confirmed by this passage in ACOSF chapter 22:
“Cassian looked over at Az. “You think you’ll ever be ready for one?” Ever be ready to confess to Mor what’s in your heart?
“I don’t know,” Azriel said.
“Do you want a child?”
“It doesn’t matter what I want.” Distant words—ones that prevented Cassian from prying further. He was still happy to be Mor’s buffer with Azriel, but there’d been a change lately. In both of them. Mor no longer sat beside Cassian, draped herself over him, and Azriel … those longing glances toward her had become few and far between. As if he’d given up. After five hundred years, he’d somehow given up. Cassian couldn’t think why.”
His tight smile could very well be because he doesn’t want Helion to know where Mor is (in Vallahan). We won’t truly know until we get his POV.
But what we do know, per Cassian, is that Azriel doesn’t really seem to be as into Mor anymore.

This is how a touch starved man looks like
The relief in his eyes because she's finally touching him, and his cup is being filled is unreal. And it doesn't matter how many times he had sex with some random chick he paid before this. THIS is what he needs, THIS is what matters.
Someone finally give Luke Newton some award!!

Colin’s whole ‘You’re not going to die tomorrow.’ and ‘You’d already be dead’ is so funny and one of my favorite parts from the book.
But in the show it’s so great because Luke plays it EXACTLY like a guy with four sisters who he has seen in full meltdown mode before it’s so spot on I giggle every time.

Hello, I thought of something about the bonus episode and by the way, I'm a fan of Elriel. In the last part (my English is not very good, so I may use broken sentences), it says something about Azriel Gwyn's eyes when she saw the necklace and that there was a slight smile on his face, I wonder why?
Hi! So @silverlinedeyes has extensively covered this in her lightsinger theory post and the follow up to it but I believe that the explanation for Azriel’s reaction (as a whole) is that he had been inadvertently lured in response to Gwyn’s potential powers.
The passage right above what you sent discusses how a “faint, beautiful singing followed him” down the stairwell after his conversation with Gwyn with Azriel swearing that his shadows “sang in answer” (which parallels Nesta’s powers reacting to Gwyn). Azriel then he “found himself” at the library when the clock chimed seven, against his intention to go to the market square.
The passive language - everything is happening to Azriel as opposed to him consciously making these choices, the “glowing image,” and the faint singing that followed him points to some magic at play. His faint smile could be him somewhat happy at the thought of somebody appreciating the gift he bought for Elain or it could be part of whatever lure Gwyn inadvertently (or purposefully hahaha) used on Azriel.
Regardless, the bonus chapter is inconsequential as it really just confirms what ACOSF seemed to hint at extensively - Elain and Azriel’s budding romance, Gwyn having certain powers, tension between the different courts and the possibility of war, etc.
