The email started with an introduction:
Dear Mister, my name is Doreen Caliente. We haven't met but I'm acquainted with one of your bosses and was assured that you're the go-to man for my little problem.
Bismarck couldn't recall the name Caliente but was interested. The email vaguely mentioned a vermin problem: A rather big 'mouse' to catch and a hefty reward. She also name-dropped Danzig Lin as 'an admirer of his work', with an invitation to a small island where the details of the job would be discussed in person.
So this is how Bismarck has ended up in Witch Isle. Soon after he lands, his phone rings and it's Doreen.
Doreen: Glad you could make it, Bismarck. Time is limited. Meet me at The Witch's Cauldron at 11 AM sharp!
Earlier, Bismarck could sense the forcefulness in her words, now that he hears her voice, he feels the force accentuated. His curiosity peaked, he decides to tour the town before meeting Doreen. And he can't believe there are island towns even smaller than his hometown.
At 11, he finally puts a face on the mysterious voice and the name Doreen. They sit and she tells the short version of a long story.
Apparently, her beloved daughter, Serena, has been 'bewitched' by a lowly man and all her efforts to save her was undermined by the 'vermin' himself. "I don't know how you do it, just make him disappear!" she says with passion.
Then some ground rules are laid:
He has to be alone or away from the rest of the family at the time of the 'incident'.
It cannot be traced back to her.
She will create an opening for Bismarck, but it's his responsibility to finish the job.
"Do not disappoint me" is her last words.

Bismarck goes by the pier to contemplate the situation. How hard could it be?

With his mother and brother gone, Bismarck quickly realises his life is lacking. His criminal career is going well and his friends and relatives always make sure he's alright.
But he's itching! The only things that happen in this town are weddings, births and elderly deaths; with some occasional burglar attempts. "Those idiot robbers can't even finish a job!" he thinks to himself.
The Burglar: How AM I supposed to rob them if people put alarms EVERYWHERE!!!???
Away from the commotion on his home lot, Bismarck is moving up on the social ladder which grants him another trait: Irresistible, as suggested by the game.
Helping him in the right direction is non other than Caren the unimportant cashier at the Arcade. Well, she has some style, yet bad taste in men.
A few nights later, Bismarck impresses his bosses at work and is finally a henchman. He will have more opportunities to satiate his evil desires from now on.
And before long, some opportunity presents itself when he receives an email from a woman called Doreen.

Bismarck's days are going as usual with his pets, his late night criminal activities and friendly visits from the people he knows.
He's unfortunately the most boring heir so far. We need some spice in this story.

I didn't expect to write another guide so soon, but this one is a simple set of text instructions and I've also provided the fix itself as a download- the method is really just documented for posterity.
After a few false starts, I've finally hit this error on the head. If you haven't taken the plunge to only using .package installs, this was the last unsolved issue I knew of them having ;)
Download + Guide Here
Download contains a fix for (hopefully) every Store counter and cabinet, please let me know if you find one I missed.

I will release an update with the other MDLR objects- sectional sofas and swingsets- as soon as I've rounded them all up and had a chance to fix them.

I switch to Bismarck and while he works at night as a getaway driver, a weird music plays and grim appears. Apparently, old boy Cash has run out of days. 😢
He takes his place at the family pet urn display leaving Bismarck his favourite chew toys.
Bismarck being more concerned about his work performance, is in a good mood after getting the promotion he has wanted. Literally every time he leaves work, he lights a cig, like clockwork.
At home, he has a sudden urge to carve a pumpkin. And now we have an evil jack-o-lantern.
In the morning, he's long awaited visitor arrives: Brother Quixote. He had a wish for that, and I'm glad the foreign visitor issue has been now fixed.
Bismarck gives his brother a much needed gift which hopefully will help Quixote in some matters back home. Later they go bowling at the arcade and in the evening Quixote returns to his town and Bismarck has another night at work. Bonus: Bonehilda goofing off.

It seems like spares are having more interesting lives than the heir. For context: this and this.
This is the option I mentioned in my earlier post. It's false by default and I never enabled it. So how is my plantsim able to get PREganaNANt? There must be something else doing it. 🤨
Exactly one day after her father Bodhi's passing, Midori goes into labour on her front porch in her bikini, while her useless husband decides to hop into a sleeping bag right behind her. You're happy right, Midori?
Look at her face she's like 'What have I done?' Starting to re-evaluate our life choices?
After hours of lonely agony she gives birth to TWINS! I don't think they are ready for this. Welcome Jaimey and Willow! And this is exactly where she looks at with her eyes popping. 'Another one?' !!
She carries one of the babies inside to safety and thankfully comes back for the other one. She then hands her over to Christi, her teenage sister, who immediately gives the baby back to her. 😹
Oh, look the useless husband is awake now. Midori moves fast.
Midori: Here, it's yours to take care of. I've already taken care of the other one. ** And leaves the premise quickly **
Jeremiah: The other one?
Sleeping through your wife's labour doesn't exempt you from the responsibilities of a parent, you know. Right, Jeremiah?
It's Jeremiah's turn to re-evaluate his life choices. He's also like: 'What have I done?' Seriously, these sims with their eyes are killing me. 🤣

It's been so long I last played my game I can't remember why I switched to Quixote's side. The Ghost Unicorn seems to be enjoying the training; while the evil bot collects scraps. He wants to be an inventor, literally playing with his food. 😂
Quixote still not having his first romance is getting restless. So he tries his chances at online dating. And he receives two responses! Amazing achievement for him if you ask me.
He chooses Harlow to spend the day with and, crazy enough, she seems to be impressed. Even after he burns himself to a crisp and has arguments with himself openly. Could she be the one for him? 🙃
The next day, he has business in town but Dulcinea refuses to have him mounted so he has to lead her to the town, on foot. 😸
He visits the partially-built bookstore to buy some books and oh my, he's recognised! ... having only two stars? Even his much more famous ancestors didn't get any freebies.
After fishing for a while, he tries to mount the ghost unicorn once more, and what do you know! He succeeds. Oh, he's so proud of himself.
At midnight this alien comes and watches Rocinante for hours while he reads his skill book. 👽
And the next day, continues as usual, with Quixote fishing so he can eat. But one thing is sure, this world is beautiful. I'm secretly in debates with myself whether I should build and move my whole legacy here or not.

Follow-up on this extra. Midori and Jeremiah is now married and expecting! HOW? I mean she's a PlantSim. I have NRaas Woohooer but I believe you have to enable an option for plantsims to have babies in regular ways. And I don't remember doing so.
Anyway, she still lives with her parents and Jeremiah has been visiting them even after becoming a young adult. And as soon as she becomes one, he moves in and they're married. Wow. The dedication.

In the morning, I catch Bonehilda hiding behind a tree near the house. She might be the goofiest Bonehilda I've ever played with.
Bismarck adopted an evil kitten named Bodica. He's obsessed with her and they become BFFs in no time.
One thousand years later, Bismarck's foreign visitor has finally arrived.
I was away from my game so long, this was just sitting in my drafts all this time. Might as well post it. Really want to return to it now.

An Update for the Blueberry Cheesecake Texture Issue
I know this was long overdue and I apologise that it took this long to resolve the issue. But I managed to find the issue and if you're still interested you can re-download from the same post. Links are the same so the previous reblogs will not be an issue.
If you're curious about my inadequacy and such details. I will ramble about the issue under the cut.
I realise that because I don't allow anonymous asks, I don't get many interactions. So when 3 people complained about missing textures and strings, I knew that it couldn't be just those 3. But this project had so many ups and downs, it wore me down. So I took a break from it, and eventually from Sims 3; mindlessly played Minecraft and finally returned for it after months. And it only took 2 days to finally fix it, (hopefully). :/
I totally understand the frustration of finding a cute CC, only to find out it doesn't work. And I hate half-assed jobs. The problem is, I put so much effort and still manage to mess things up. This is not the first time I uploaded a faulty CC; not knowingly, though.
Between testing it in my game and uploading I always do something stupid and it stops working. This time the texture issue was caused by a corrupt DDS for the cake. The slice was fine, but the cake was just craptastic.
You can't ignore my dedication though, I loaded the EAApp. I have the luxury of playing my games on Steam. So I stay away from eacrapp. It took like 20 minutes just to open the damn thing properly.
Then I loaded my game and had Yuki Sekemoto buy the recipe book, learn the recipe and with her 7 levels of cooking, bake that horrible looking cake in a completely vanilla Base Game environment with only necessary mods. Yeah, such a failure.
Then I switched to my Steam setup with an unholy amount of mods and such. Even the best shaders wouldn't be able to hide how crappy Lucy Fern's baking is.
OK, it not Lucy's fault. But don't ask me how I managed to corrupt a DDS file and used it after the testing while there was a working one in the folder the whole time... Oh, and I added the missing strings to all languages, so blank text issue should be gone as well. Now I can shamelessly go back to Minecrafting...

Heart-Shaped Glasses and Spiked Collar For TS3
In Nobody-Asked-But section, we have low-poly and sort of kinky accessories for your male sims. Yes, these are male only, as my lovely model Danzig demonstrates, because I'm lazy. Feel free to convert to female if you wish.
When I was playing Danzig's generation I searched for these glasses and found none. There was one for sims 2 but I wasn't into converting accessories back then so I gave up and used something else.
Then, a couple of months ago, I bumped into a simblr post - that I cannot suffer to search for - with a link to a character maker called Panqueques Maker on Picrew. I had my fun with it and ended up with this boi:
I know you're saying "I don't give a damn about your stupid stories, give me my CC!" Well, I like my stories, even if nobody listens. It's OK, you can easily scroll down.
Making this, I realised that I really need those glasses, that collar/choker, and those chains for Bismarck. So another blender adventure started for me and Bismarck had his gifts at his photoshoot.
A word of caution, though: These are really low-poly items designed for gameplay only. If you want fancy screenshots these may not be for you. Keep in mind that these are not perfect. Glasses can be see-through or semi-reflective depending on the angle as you see in the screenshots. They are cloned from the Aviator Glasses and use the temples, bridge and nose pads from that mesh. Although, I had to adjust them accordingly. Front frame and lenses are created from an .svg file done in GIMP.
The collar have clipping issues especially at the chest with the ring. I thought I handled that issue but then I idiotically overwrote my only perfect copy with another project. Yeah, I do these kinds of things a lot. So, whatever I had elsewhere seemed fine enough and I'm not going back at it.
I remember trying to make it BGC since it was cloned from the Late Night spiked collar. Let me know if I failed. I'll try again.
Also chains are not included because they're so low-effort, low-poly shit, that it would be a really bad joke to release them. And now even more technical details:
Heart-shaped Glasses
3 Channels, 3 Presets, Re-colourable Lenses
Polycount -> Highest: 1296 Mid: 838 Lowest: 160
Compatible with glasses sliders
Spiked Collar
3 Channels, 3 Presets
Polycount -> Highest: 776 High: 690 Mid: 274 Lowest: 84
Made with: GIMP, s3oc, s3pe, Blender, CAS Texture+Unitool, and TSRW

Bismarck returns to Fayne Island and have a one night stand with a repowoman called Gina.
Wow, OK. All this time woohooing he NEVER had a satisfying experience. I think NRaas Woohooer supplies service sims with high Kama Simtra skills, so this is the result. Honestly, this is something Bismarck would enjoy throughout his life.

We're in Halley Crimson Basin. Bismarck wants to visit his brother in his new dwelling so he takes the trip to come here after Egypt.
We find Quixote on a lot with minimum necessities accompanied by the ghost unicorn now named Dulcinea and a simbot with the worst personality ever - named Rocinante. Don't bother telling him that he's gotten the names all mixed-up; he's out of his wits already.
Not being able to help his good brother who's surrounded by evil creatures, Bismarck decides to explore the town. And guess what, he meets this cutie called Janet Kilgore. Awesome name aside, she would make a good baby mama. Alas, she doesn't meet the criteria.
So she will have to be a filler love interest until the true one comes.

Happy 25th Anniversary to All Sims Lovers
The whole 25th Birthday Re-release debacle and the reaction it created, sent me back in years once again. Honestly, I've been thinking about writing a 'memorial' of sorts regarding this weird game for a long time.
So if you're not interested in a middle-aged nerd's personal memories and ramblings about a video game series, you can skip this post.
The year 2000, my brother is playing a game while also trying to get me into it by explaining things. At some point, he says 'Do you want to know how they make babies?' and proceeds to show. If memory serves, he chooses an option from a popup and a text appears on the screen saying: "SHALL WE HAVE A BABY?"
If you click yes or ok, a bassinet with a baby in it, appears out of nowhere, just like that. That entertains me well, so I'm intrigued. This is my first ever memory about the sims - the one and only back then.
The other thing that I remember is him telling me that the game was actually designed as an architectural tool for students of architect. And then they decided to put little people in the houses they built to see how they used the house. 😂 Regardless of the truthfulness of the story, you got to admit it's a good one.
So I'm already enjoying playing the SimCity games, the idea of managing the households individually sounds like a fun idea. Right? But as someone who's barely 20, I don't have the patience to build up. I want things done ASAP but these creatures called sims are constantly whining, weeping & having nervous breakdowns at every turn. And I'm like 'Fuck this game!'
After having successful SimCity runs, I can't understand why this game is so buggy and whiny. A year or so later, I complain about it to a friend and she says to me:
"You're doing it wrong. All you need is House Party EP. Then cheat all their needs, give them money and throw parties all the time. That's what I do and I'm having so much fun!"
Well, this friend was from a smaller city with non-neglecting parents and her thirst for parties in real life was ever present. Whereas I, from a metropolis with neglecting parents, having thrown or been to house parties since 17, had little interest in partying.
I dismiss her suggestion simply because I don't find it helpful. More than 20 years later, I keep remembering that friend and the wise words she uttered that day, whenever I throw a successful party playing sims 3. 😂
If the sims games were lovers, The Sims 1 would be a platonic one. Never knowing about your desires, intentions and efforts to impress them, they move on with their life unaffected, sometimes forgetting that you even exist.
I know a lot of people have different perspectives and experiences regarding this game, and this is solely mine. Fast forward a couple years or so, in year 2004, I would be in a totally different situation with The Sims 2. But that's another story. Happy simming!

A little update on my Traveler adventures. I found out that when I use MC commands like Status or Family Tree, I can see every connected world under Homeworld filter including Crimson Basin.
But when I try to use Invite Over, Transfer Money or Transfer To/From functions only Fayne Islands sims appear. This was not the case earlier since I sent money and objects between worlds before.
But more intriguing or concerning than that, is I have a world showing up as random numbers with just one sim in it under the Homeworld filter. I assumed it was a Fayne Island resident that 'travelled' to Crimson Basin with Bismarck as a tourist and somehow his minisim got stuck there.
But it turns out that one sim is actually Bismarck. 😅 So he still lives in Fayne Island as an active sim but his Homeworld is a non-existent world that consists of some numbers. How I managed to fuck this up, I don't even know.
Also, Using Debug Enabler's Fix Homeworld does nothing. Totally unaware, Bismarck's new obsession is the megaphone ranting.

Recently, I saw this secret on simsecret. I can't relate to it entirely since I only play events on Sims 4 and I keep it unmodded because I'm lazy. But I relate to it in a different way:
Every time I get pumped up about this save the game welcomes me with bugs, glitches and persistent crashes. And by the time I resolve all the issues I lost my zest to continue playing so I take a break and the cycle continues.
This time I had a shader glitch which wasn't because of anything I've installed recently. However, I still went through all my custom shaders and made sure they're installed properly. Then I started testing different scenarios. Something was wrong with simeyes shader for outdoors so all my sims looked like aliens sometimes with all whites with no irises.
After testing, it occurred to me that it might be caused by the proton version I was using. I'm on linux so I use Steam to run my game and proton is the steam's version of the compatibility layer that makes games run in a non-windows environment.
But I also use custom builds for proton and I like my stuff bleeding-edge, so I update my proton whenever a new version is released. But new is not always better. And in this case, I had to downgrade to an older version to make the shaders work properly. Which is not a big deal.
As soon as I put this matter to rest, another issue creeped out of the shadows and said 'hello'. And I cannot find a solution to it.
I sent Quixote to Halley. Just like how I played both siblings with Bodhi and Satori, in different worlds in the same save, I imagined doing so with these ones as well.
Normally, you can switch between two or more worlds using NRaas Traveler, removing the sim from the list before clicking ok. This will send you to the world you want to visit without a sim and upon arrival you will just choose a household or return to game if there's an active household.
But a blank screen welcomes me with this method which was working previously, and now somehow broken. But one of these days my brain has worked overtime and I decided to hit hotkeys and F5 as usual brings up the Options Menu and when you click on the 3 dots, black screen goes away and you end up in the world you visit.
Before this workaround I had to use a placeholder sim to visit both worlds which was extra work and an inconvenience. This issue resolved, but there is even more.
Now, Bismarck wants to invite foreign visitors but they never arrive. But, hey you can use MC Invite Over but these sims never appear under the Homeworld filter or without any filter.
Nraas Chatterbox says that some custom worlds come without unique IDs so they are incompatible with NRaas Traveler. Halley comes with CAW files so I load the world in CAW, gave it a new ID, did lot addresses and redid the unroutable area entirely, named it Crimson Basin and exported it as a new world.
Guess what, Crimson Basin can see everyone in Halley and in Fayne Island which is my main world but Fayne Island still can't see the sims in Crimson Basin. But at least, Bismarck's foreign visitor could finally visit, so that's improvement.
I know nobody will read this; but if you did, I hope it's helpful to you in some way.
