You ever think about Yoo Joonghyuk looked close to his 0th turn self by the time Kim Dokja comes back? Except this time, he isn't starting his horrifying journey, but ending it? He started by wanting to seek out his beloved constellation Demon King of Salvation and ended it by finally finding him and keeping him by his side for real as his Life and Death Companion, the human Kim Dokja. It's all he wanted for literal lifetimes.

I mean. It was intentional for Sing Shong to mention that he looked more aged. They wanted to show the parallel, and boy oh boy is it always on my mind

I haven't been in the fandom for long but I feel like there is untapped potential for the trio of Uriel, Lee Jihye, and Lee Gilyoung to be the number one proponents of the Yoo Joonghyuk-Kim Dokja agenda. Like, "number one Joongdok shipper" Uriel plus "think of the child" Lee Jihye plus "Hyung likes a man" Lee Gilyoung, especially given how stubborn all three of them are, absolutely gives birth to several new conspiracy theories.

So, we all know Yoo Junghyeok kept dying while fighting constellations and trying to reach the end of scenarios in all 1863 regressions.

But, Kim Dokja also died in all the 1863 regressions. The difference was that it happened even before the scenarios started.

Both of them were victims of chronic depression and trauma. Yoo Junghyeok faced countless betrayals while Kim Dokja suffered from bullying and child abuse.

However, when they had the other with them(YJH was with KDJ through 'ways of survival' and KDJ was with YJH as Demon King of Salvation in 0th turn) they lived despite being in same circumstances as before.

And 1864 turn was the happiest lifetime for both of them even if it was in no way blissful. This is the lifetime in which they were together.

In other words, the term 'Companions in life and death' is truly justified for this duo. And they need each other to survive.

look, I know it’s ~problematic~ for all kinds of reasons but I do kind of love when there’s a character with few or no scruples who outsources their moral compass to someone else

it’s sort of the equivalent of when a cat jumps up somewhere they shouldn’t be and you just pick them up and move them off it, only with murder or whatever.
