In Demand Entertainment’s mission is to bridge the gap between public health and social services organizations and in need, at risk, hard to reach, underserved population to decrease health disparities and empower the community through the arts and entertainment. Our largest program is called Project Serve. The PS vision is to strive to promote the positive aspects of the LGBTQ+ community via an array of curriculums connected to outreach, education, social media activism, HIV prevention/testing/treatment, job readiness training, housing assistance, substance abuse rehabilitation and overdose prevention, self-harm reduction, primary care and specialized care referrals, prescription program referrals and insurance coverage navigation, research studies, mentorship and professional development, individual mental health counseling and psychosocial support groups, non-medical case management and referrals to medical case management, gender identity affirming assistance, social justice and equality advocacy, and performing and visual arts trainings by way of the League of In Demand Community Partners.

It’s a new year and In Demand Entertainment is excited to be able to continue to do the work in the community that needs to be done for us, by us! To be apart of Project Serve meet us tomorrow or select Fridays to be announced at The Center located at 10420 S. Halsted St. Chicago, IL 60628 for a power hour roundtable discussion about resources counseling and how it can benefit you and others in the community! We are asking clients to come at noon, 1pm, or 2pm and volunteers and/or clients to come at 3pm! We will be offering produce boxes and other essentials courtesy of SSHC on a first come, first served basis from noon until 2pm or exhausted. We will also be offering confidential health assessment for consideration to be entered into a paid study alongside offering many other opportunities including sign up for training and subcontractor electives! Moreover, in celebration of our 20 years of dedication to the community, we will be hosting the 20th annual Love Out Loud Ball happening Valentine’s Day weekend. Congrats are in order for In Demand Entertainment! IDE was accepted into the 2nd of a now 3-year Nonprofit Management Capacity Building Program at The University of Chicago! This means more support doing the work we have been doing for over 20 years in the Black community in part involving HIV prevention, treatment, and advocacy. Imagine being accepted into a graduate program literally 1 hour before class was to start; that was my reality. As daunting as that may sound, I remained resilient for I knew I was being led by the Holy Spirit.
