Concept: I finish school. The job I work isn’t my dream job but I enjoy doing it greatly still. It pays enough to cover everything I might need. My bills are never overdue. Money is not a thought in my head. I have a place to live. So do my dogs. It is nice and warm, I have some plants, my bookshelves are full, my sheets are always clean. There is time to read at the end of a day. I read a lot. Thinking is a good thing. I meet up with friends regularly, old and new. They love me. We make memories. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I travel a few times a year, always different places. The places I see steal my breath away. The people I meet teach me of life. They are good. There is no war. The sea calls to me and pay visit. I am independent. I am content.

how often on a daily basis do you wonder if you’re One Of Those Annoying People Who Cant Take A Hint and people only respond to you bc they feel obligated

being a trans woman is not like being trapped in the wrong body.

it is like living in ‘invasion of the body snatchers’ after the pod people have taken over.  at any time they might discover you and begin squealing.

it is like a twilight zone episode where everyone has a strange body but yours is the one they decide is disgusting.

it is like living in a magical world where the muggles are nice enough unless they suspect something is up - enormous effort must be maintained to ensure that they do not - even if it means risking your life at times.

it is a stepford utopia where everyone says ‘be yourself, love yourself,’ except for you, jesus christ we didn’t mean you.

its like being an android where everyone wants to fuck you but its seen as embarrassing, and they would never guess you have your own feelings.

its a little like being frankinstein’s monster, in the book not the movies.

its like living in logan’s run when your jewel has been deactivated.  you have to change your face so no one will know you.

its like being a half vampire, and you want the humans to see your humanity but they refuse to.  even as you risk your life for theirs.

its like being a goddess who was deposed.  and now she is cast as a demon even as the priests harvest the fruits of her creation.

cis people encounter so many metaphors for understanding us every day.  they just refuse to see that these are our stories.  they stick with a narrative that no one can identify with because they fear to see the world through our eyes.  they find it easier to identify with monsters than with us.
