Imagine this is tfemflightinstructor because its my sideblog
How long have you been flying? Do you have a career in aviation? Are you Also a flight instructor?
hello mutual 👋
I got my PPL in 2016 and then started working on my instrument rating but had to stop before finishing due to a lack of free time and money. I haven't actually flown since 2019, but I'm planning to start again soon™.
For aviation jobs I've worked as both a ramp agent and an airport weather observer, but I'm currently unemployed.
My goal is to be a professional pilot and that may or may not involve being a flight instructor at some point along the way.

Hiya this might be impossible to ID for various reasons, but u was playing Horizon Zero Dawn: the Forbidden West and came across this awesome room with a plane hanging above the throne, so I was wondering what it was and if it even exists irl

Yeah, I'm thinking that's a fictional plane, but it looks inspired by the F-35 with that lift fan behind the cockpit.

apologies if you've been asked this before but how does one go about developing the ability to identify planes with such accuracy?
Be obsessed with planes from a young age
Read about them on Wikipedia a lot
Play flight simulators
Major in aviation
Get a pilot's license
Get a job at an airport
That's how it went for me anyways. Your mileage may vary.

Hi! I play a daily game with my family where it shows you pictures and your goal is to guess when and where that picture was taken. Today we got this picture, which it turns out was taken in Boston, Massachusetts in 1973. My dad is a big airplane fan and was stumped trying to figure out the plane pictured here - he was confused since he couldn’t see any engines on the wings. His best guess was either a 727 or a DC-9. I had shown him your blog one day so he could guess planes from the pictures there and he was very impressed with your “plane prowess” and asked me to send this over to you as the expert. He also told me to thank you for all your great plane posts!! :)

Yep, your dad was right, that's a 727!

Maybe? Though I think the tail still looks a little different. It's missing the step.
