I'll be real the second any trans person shows up on my dash making any kind of post generalizing transmasc or transfemme people negatively i check out. literally don't care if the evil trans woman or evil trans man said something upsetting to you or you've had bad experiences with a particular group of people; the generalization shit is lame, being defensive about it is lame, you are literally smarter than this - stop, reflect, take some deep breaths, go do something else

Something I want to make clear is that transphobes don't always see straight trans men as victims or "misguided lesbians" or anything similarly infantilizing. I feel like when we talk about transmasc demonization it sometimes seems like there's an implied binary of "straight trans men are treated as lost lesbian victims and gay trans men are treated as dangerous predators." And straight trans men often do get hit by the "lost lesbian" rhetoric, but we also get demonized quite a lot as well- it's like getting the "predatory butch lesbian" attitude except worse. So I wanted to make sure that we don't treat it like infantilization is the only form of oppression straight trans men get, and that straight trans men aren't left out of the conversation on transmasc demonization.

The singer came out as nonbinary in 2021 and said they were using they/them pronouns moving forward. Then, in 2023, they re-adopted she/her pronouns in addition to they/them pronouns. Lovato said the choice came from frustration with always having to explain their pronouns to others. “I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with those pronouns,” Lovato told GQ Hype Spain at the time, translated from Spanish to English by People. “It was absolutely exhausting. I just got tired. But for that very reason, I know that it is important to continue spreading the word.” But using she/her pronouns doesn’t mean Lovato is no longer nonbinary. On Lovato’s Instagram, their pronouns are clearly listed as they/them/she/her, in that order. That’s why that viral post hit a nerve: it implies that Lovato uses only she/her, and that referring to them with they/them pronouns would be a change from the norm. The X user who made the post, @.havingextras, addressed the discourse they’d started in a reply, writing, “Wait I did not misgender that lady,” attaching a screenshot of an article about Lovato’s re-adoption of she/her pronouns. “Y’all can chillax.” But that justification falls short, as other folks on the internet were quick to point out. “Y’all don’t see the problem with a nonbinary person having to re-adopt gendered pronouns because they’re exhausted from explaining themselves?” one user said in response.

what's your technique to give your art that old comic book style dot overlay? specifically on your post of dagoth ur with the caption "reconstituting and waking up", are there flat colors underneath it, or is it, like, painted. It just has really nice colors when you look closely

Aside from that, I add textures with a lot of white flecks and scratches as add layers clipped to the lineart and use a lot of texturizer brushes. Some gradient mapped layer copies at low opacity and yellow overlays around 10% help sometimes too, I did those on that one

in hindsight, it makes a lot of sense that macklemore would happily release a free palestine song that is AS balls-out anticapitalist and antiimperialist as it is, considering in 2011 he won a grammy with a song all about being poor and spending your money wisely while still being cool and looking fresh, bemoaning blind consumption.
