I always thought the 'School Accessories' went waaay better with this outfit than they did with the 'Flower Power Outfit'.

Some friends I've noticed whilst hanging out on the patio this year! According to InsectID, we've got a Deidamia inscriptum (lettered sphynx moth) on the top row and a pair of Xenox tigrinus (tiger bee flies) in the middle. Yesterday I found this teeny little toad on the bottom row chilling on a shelf near a succulent pot.

It's Addy's turn to be re-stringed!
First up, untying the ridiculous neck string as per usual. I had to use a safety pin to get the final double knot undone, which worked, but ended up bending the pin so badly I had to toss it.

And here's her shoulder tag. Apparently, she was manufactured in May of 2003.

Another thing I did to my childhood dolls -- in addition to tying their neck strings into octuple+ knots -- is write the month and year I got them on the bottom of their foot. The writing is blurry because vinyl is absorbent, but it says August of 2003. Turns out I've had her for 22 years this month! This was entirely a coincidence.
Addy actually ended up being the hardest doll I've re-stringed thus far, entirely because, for the life of me, I could not get her head back on. No matter how tightly I tied the neck string, her head always ended up wobbling. I tried and tried for the better part of this entire weekend, restuffing her and then unstuffing and then trying again, but I ended up having to leave some of her stuffing out in order to be able to cinch the string tightly enough. I'm rather impressed that her neck string didn't snap, honestly. I even ended up with a blister on my finger from pulling the string so hard/often!

But it was all worth it in the end, because here she is, able to stand and gesture with her arms again. I also gave her a spa, so she's nice and clean.

I don't know if it's because of the trauma of his vet visit last week or because it's getting too chilly for his old bones a bit early this year, but it appears to be that time again. Seamus has been so incredibly cuddly this week--he barely leaves my side.

Seamus prefers to spend his days with my mother in her bedroom, where she works from home. He almost never comes into my room except to bask in the sun on the floor for a little before my mother's lunch hour, which is when he gets his walkies for the day.
But it's a whole different story once it starts getting chilly outside. Once I start using my heating pad in the fall to stay warm, he becomes absolutely glued to my side all day every day until spring comes.

Pictured: my best friend in the whole world, but only between the months of September and April.
