It was an honor to be involved with PAUSE FEST 2012. I was asked (alongwith other incredible artists) to create an animation ID. This year's theme was "Future", which I struggled with a lot in the beginning. Good friend and talented sound designer, Alain Mikuni, created the brilliant music piece upfront for me to work off from. During my process of research and development I stumbled across an inspiring Quote by Barack Obama, which served perfectly as a lead narrational element. The main visual key object is the "oh so popular" aztec calendar, which worked with the theme and had some interesting geometrical details that I could play with. I also took advantage of the amazing ancient aztec and mexican patterns to underline & reinforce this idea and concept.

In summary, my idea of the future is pretty bright. I am very aware of all the danger and negativity that surrounds us, which confirms my theory of "It can only get better". The music and animation style go hand in hand with that idea and overall atmosphere.

As usual, I learned a lot whilst working on this project and to be honest, conceptually this really had me going crazy at points, however it also helped me evolve and get a deeper understanding of the relation between moving image and it's message&content.

Adobe Creative Cloud Launch China - Process Reel from Never Sit Still on Vimeo.

For the launch of Adobe Creative Cloud in China, we were asked to animate the illustration of a Chinese Dragon by Brian Yap.

The highly detailed illustration was made with Adobe Illustrator from thousands of strokes. Our challenge was to bring the dragon to life in a 20 second animation, creating that moment of impact when the Creative Cloud was announced for the very first time in China.

To animate the dragon, we converted the layered illustration to a flattened file we could work with in Adobe Photoshop to cut out all the parts of the dragon. Then we used Cinema 4D for rigging and animation, along with the clouds. We created the cel animation of the fire in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects was used for final compositing. The Adobe CREATE NOW event took place at the Shanghai International Convention Center on November 10, 2016.

Next, I answer some questions you ask to me frequently about this project:

- The sync with music was animated manually, there was no automatization process. That was one of the objectives to reach, to obtain more organic movements. - The explosions or "2D" look-alike elements were made in 3D, but detailed in 2D process. - About 4 months, 4 to 5 hrs a day took to me to realize this piece.

This is a process reel of the project SIM/NEBULA we have done in an international collaboration. 45 minutes of expressively futuristic visual poems, shaping the emergence of cybernetic organism counting down its time code in live acoustic waves of classical music conducted by Jiri Belohlavek and Czech philharmonic orchestra. The story made of seven sections/themes, set against the background of the visual show, which uses technological and creative attributes of projectionmapping, VFX and motion graphics. Project was commissioned by Ceska sporitelna to celebrate 190 years of their existence and the new partnership with the Czech philharmonic.
