Kai and Princess

I opened my eyes and found myself under a tree...that was confusing since I was just at my wedding in Balmoral castle. Everything looked so different..

I spotted a building with big sign "Target", I wondered what place was that. I felt scared but curious. I stepped in and saw many things that looked like...food? Only covered with some transparent fabric [it's plastic but she doesn't know that]

Suddenly young man spoke up:

- what are you doing here? -

Man he was handsome.. but very different from prince's I was used to see.

- oh my apologies sir. I didn't mean to intrude. I'm simply very lost. -

I said sincerely, looking at him with curiosity 

- You haven't intruded, i was just admiring your dress. What's your name, princess? -

Kai said, raising an eyebrow. 

(I have this dress on)

- Names Princess Kimberley -

I said politely and curtsied 

- Kimberley, that's a pretty name. -

Kai said still amused by my mannerism. He stepped closer a little bit

- and may i ask what's your name, sir? -

- Kai, my name's Kai -

- Kai, very nice to meet you. In all honesty i really don't know how i got here. One minute i was at my wedding in Balmoral castle, the next lighting struck and i woke up here under a tree. -

Kai tilted his head at my words, surprised that a bride would be wandering an empty town without her groom

- Balmoral castle? Are you Scottish? -

- Yes, Kai. I'm Scottish princess of the 19th century - 

Kai walked around me inspecting me from every angle. For Kai my story sounded completely ridiculous... but it's not every day a bride appears in front of you out of thin air. 

- How did you get here? -

Kai asked me, his gaze flicking over my dress. It was like something straight out of movie 

- As I said, I was in church 'Crathie Kirk' that's near my Balmoral castle. I was getting married to prince  Edward, when suddenly grand lighting struck and the next thing i know is I'm here -

I said in complete honesty. Kai looked at me for a moment, trying to see is I was trying to pull his leg, but my sincerity was obvious

- You're telling me lighting hit you and teleported you to 2015? -

- Yes, look my dress is proof. Also my tiara and jewellery is out of real gold -

I said feeling sad he wouldn't believe me. Kai looked at the outfit a bit closer, taking in the complicated fabric of the clothing. It would be a strange thing to fake.

- okay, i believe you -

kai said simply, his eyes returning to my face. He let out a slight chuckle of this strange situation 

- Thank you so much. I promise I'm not crazy. But may you help me? I have no place to stay noe anything to eat. -

i said softly as i checked out his appearance. Kai thought for a moment. What were the chances he'd stumble across a girl from century ago? It seemed ridiculous, but she was real, and needed help

- of course i'll help you. You can come stay with me, but I doubt I have anything for you to wear -

- oh don't worry about that, i don't need a grand dress, besides people look at me strangely when i walk around. I noticed that everyone is wearing something... how to say, 'uncanny' i guess.

Kai chuckled at my words, not in a mean way but he find it endearing, to his own surprise. 

- It's called jeans and t shirt -

he explained softly. Kai took me to local shop and helped me look for some kind of outfit that wouldn't make me stand out so much. People were staring at me, my grand dress and shiny tiara was a massive contrast to others simple jeans and tops or shirts. I gave Kai my tiara which he held very gingerly and observed. I stepped out of changing room and the moment Kai's eyes landed on me he felt... mesmerised. I had simple low waist jeans and dark blue top that said '68', you know one of thoes tops. 

- so, how do i look? I have to say it's so strange to wear as you said 'jeans'. I had never had anything on my legs except tights. But I like it... what do you say? Kai? ... Kaii? - 

as i rambled on Kai sat there with his lips parted and completely shocked. Something so simple as jeans and top made me look so beautiful. 

- oh yeah, right, sorry... you look... amazing, beautiful... -

kai finally snapped out of his trance. I looked in his eyes and the world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of us in this store. True, prince's have said more fancy words and read me poems, but... this ... this felt real, he wasn't saying that because he wanted to get the crown and throne by marriage with me, he was saying that because he found me beautiful, really beautiful in this simple outfit, as a simple girl not a royalty.

- pick anything else you want, I'm paying -

kai said snapping me out. I nodded and thanked him before looking for more clothes.  After we spent the day shopping and at hairdresser, he took me to his home. It was apartment, something I've never seen before. I observed everything, touching things lightly not to break them. Kai watched me from side with a small loving smile. He was falling for me and fast. It surprised him, he was never the one for romance, as he said himself ''romance stories are for babies'', but now... now he felt his stomach curling and his heart doing flips just because of this girl... this princess... real life princess. It wasn't because i was royalty, but because i was so... beautiful, kind, elegant. Most girls just threw themselves at him, hanging from his neck and asking for it, but I... I was a girl he never knew he needed or wanted but now.. i was all he could think about.

- take your time, princess. You don't have to rush -

Kai said softly, as he continued observing me. 

That night Kai was walking to kitchen when he noticed me sitting at the window peering at the stars. He approached me carefully

- what are you thinking about, princess? -

- I'm just thinking about my family... do they remember me or am i replaced... do I even exist in their time line anymore... i feel... i feel like fish out of water. It's not that I'm ungrateful for everything you've done for me, but... I miss being home -

I said softly, i truly was grateful for everything Kai did for me, but i was homesick. All this modernism was hard for me to accept 

- oh princess... i know you're grateful and i can imagine how you feel, but i promise i'll help you. This is your new home. -

Kai said and softly hugged me from behind. It seemed like world has stopped and left only two of us in eachothers embrace. I looked up at him and he looked down at me. His gaze fell on my lips and my breath hitched. I was not used to this but it felt right. Kai leaned in and our lips met in soft and tender kiss. My eyes closed and world stopped. It felt right... like I've found my place. Maybe destiny took me here to find my true 'prince'. No matter what happened I've found home.

Kai and realities

I opened my eyes, it had happened again...different world.. different reality. I've been waking up in different realities since i was a little girl. I haven't discovered if they were real or just dreams.

I felt like someone was watching me, but when i turned around no one was there. Suddenly a young and may i mention handsome guy stood next to me:

- I thought only Damon and Bonnie came here...Well who might you be? -

he asked me with a beautiful smile. He was so beautiful, brown hair, and those blue eyes..

- Hi...I'm Kim -

I said softly, he truly was mesmerizing. I wondered was this just another dream or reality, but then why was there only me and him. The guy smiled back, taking a moment to check me out. I was indeed pretty girl, brown straight hair till shoulders and brown sharp eyes pretty. He chuckled and moved closer to me.

- Well, it's nice to meet you Kim. I'm Kai -

He held his hand out for me to shake. I took his hand and shook it lightly. It was the best feeling Kai has ever experienced. My hand was soft and gentle. Kai's eyes widened slightly at the feeling of my soft and gentle touch. He wasn't expecting it to feel so pleasant, especially considering that most people's touch was something he learned to avoid.

He held my hand tighter, his grip soft and gentle, as if he was hesitant to let go. His eyes roamed over my features.

- You have beautiful eyes, Kim -

He spoke softly. Kai couldn't understand why he was so drawn to me.

- Thank you -

I said softly. Kai couldn't help but chuckle softly at my shy response.

- No need to thank me for stating the obvious. -

He continued to hold my hand, tracing small circles on my hand. Kai couldn't remember the last time he felt so drawn to another person.

- Do you have any place to stay? -

I asked him. Kai tilted his head slightly at my question.

- no, I don't. I've been stuck here in prison world for years, and there's not really anyplace to go. -

We walked and walked around prison world looking for a place to stay, when we saw a big beautiful house. We stepped inside. The house was spacious with high ceilings and large windows that allowed natural light to come in. Kai seemed to be taking in every detail of the house.

- This place isn't too bad -

He commented, running a hand along the back of an old couch. Kai walked over to that couch and sat on it, gesturing for me to join him. I sat next to him.

- You know, I still don't understand how i got here -

Kai chuckled softly.

- Welcome to the club -

He leaned against couch, his legs stretched out in front of him. after a moment, Kai looked over at me, his gaze studying my face once again.

- But seriously, I don't know how you got here either -

He said seriously. I looked at him studying his face before i decided to trust him, something in me told me i can trust this man.

- I remember i was going to sleep...it was late and full moon shined above sky.. I read a book before laying down and the next thing i know, everything was like...sparkling, incredibly beautiful and then it stopped and i opened my eyes and I was in middle of road what you call prison world. -

Kai listened intently as i recounted my experience.

- Full moon, you say? And everything was was shining, like glittering? -

kai asked me surprised. I nodded.

- It has happened before, but each time it feels like it was all a dream -

After a moment, he looked at me, curious.

- This has happened before? You've experienced this shining, glittering effect while trying to sleep? -

- Yes and i dreamt about many different things, but they were so real.. like I was in that time -

kai let out a soft chuckle, a hint of amusement in his voice:

- Well, isn't that something? You've got quite unique experience there- he paused for a moment - But these dreams... You say they were so real that they felt like you were actually in that time?-

- Yes, I could feel grass beneath my feet and wind blow trough my hair -

Kai's expression grew more thoughtful as i spoke. He seemed genuinely intrigued.

- That's... quite remarkable, actually. These dreams seem to be more than just hallucinations. - he paused for a moment before speaking again - You said you read a book before going to sleep, right? -

- Yes, each time different one -

Kai leaned forwards this time, his curiosity piqued even more.

- different books every time? Any particular thing that all these books have in common? -

he said. I thought for a moment before answering:

- All of them are fantasy books -

- Fantasy books.. There could be something there. Perhaps these books triggers these dreams, or maybe even transports your consciousness to different realities... just out of curiosity ..what was the book you read before you ended up here? -

- I read about a guy who is very lonely and stuck in some alternative reality. He needed to find his escape and love of his life -

Kai let out a soft, amused chuckle at my answer

- A story about a lonely guy trapped in an alternative reality, huh? One where he needed to find his way out and the love of his life? Sounds quite familiar, to be honest... -

- how so -

i asked curiously. Kai smirked lightly.

- Well, think about it. It's not everyday you come across a story about someone being thrown into alternate reality and having to find their way out. And finding the love of their life on top of it all sounds like some kind of destiny or prophecy. I'd say there's a certain resemblance to our current situation, don't you think? -

Kai couldn't sleep that night thinking about this all. He stared at ceiling, his mind racing with thoughts.

- Kai, Kai I remember! -

I called as i suddenly ran in his room and sat in bed

Kai was startled out of his thoughts by the sudden sound of the door slamming open and me barging into the room. He sat up abruptly, his sleep-deprived mind trying to process what was happening.

- Every time i was i different reality or a dream I had a guy... he loved me... no matter the circumstances, no matter the story, no matter the decade. But i never remembered his face after i woke up -

I said in rush. Kai sat in silence for a moment. After a few moments , he spoke softly:

- So... you're saying that in every one of these dreams or realities, you were loved by someone, but you can't remember his face? -

I nodded. Kai studied my face before speaking:

- Interesting.. what else do you remember about him? -

- Every time I was destined with him and we ended up together. But right before he could kiss me i woke up. Also i been wearing this necklace all my life since i was a born, my mom says it's from my grand grandmother. Every time i touch it before falling asleep i end up in some reality i read about. And the books i read.. i found them all in our attic. There are hundreds of them, it's also from my grand grandmother -

Kai's expression turned contemplative as i mentioned the books

- Hundreds of them, huh? And they all belonged to your grandmother... Do you know who she was? -

- Well, i once heard my parents talking about some kind of witch... it was when i was a baby, yes i know people don't remember anything from their baby years, but i do. I remember them saying "She's just like her" after i was just born -

Kai looked at me, eyebrows raised in surprise

- A witch, you say? And they said you're "just like her"... Tell me more about this  witch your parents mentioned. -

- There is one book in attic that is like a dairy. If we got out of this world i would show you a picture. It's my grand grandmother, she's so beautiful... There was also written something about different realities and fairytales. Many dried plants like flowers, but the ones you never see in real life. Some words were strange like Latin. -

Kai's expression grew increasingly intrigued

- Latin? That would make sense if your grandmother truly was a witch. Many ancient spell books were written in Latin. Could you remember any of the words or phrases? -

- Ignis in corde,flamma in manu, Exsurge, potestas, nunc ad meam voluntatem! Fiat quod volo - nunc et semper! -

I said in precise Latin. Kai's eyebrows raised in surprise at my perfect Latin.

- impressive, that's flawless... Did your parents teach you Latin? -

- No, i knew it since the day i was born, i just never told anyone -

- You knew it since the day you were born? That's... unusual. It's not common thing for someone to just know a foreign language from birth... You mentioned your grandmother wad a witch.. Could there be any other clues in the dairy? -

- there is one spell i think about a lot. It says, Luna sussurrans, noctem aperi, Verum sub velis ostende mihi. Per somnia clavis, per lumen via, Fiat lux in mente mea. -

Kai listened intently.

- That's quite fascinating spell... do you know what it means? -

i nodded

- it means, Moon that whispers, open the night, Show me truth beneath the veil. Through dreams a key, trough light a path, Let there be light in my mind. -

Kai nodded, impressed by my knowledge

- do you know the purpose of it? -

- it's to see the meaning of your dreams -

- So it's meant to interpret dreams and their meaning.. do you know why your grandmother chose the name "spell of the moon's whisper"? there seems to be a strong connection to the moon in the spell. -

- well, the necklace I'm wearing is also moonstone -

Kai looked at me, his gaze thoughtful

- moonstone...that explains it. Moonstone stone is said to unlock hidden powers and inner knowledge, which is why its often linked to dream recall and insight -

I suddenly realised what was happening

- i think i know what's happening... I'm a witch -

Kai looked surprised his eyes widening

- A witch, you say? How certain are you about that? -

- Very! Because think. I have a necklace that was only given to me. I have a twin sister and she has no necklace or jewellery given as baby. The necklace is moonstone. My grandma is moon witch. I know Latin since I was born. I see and visit different realities. The books lead me in different realities, and it never happened to my sister who also read them -

Kai listened intensely, nodding slowly

- I think you might be right. All of the signs point towards you being a witch... a very powerful one at that -

I smiled softly, happy we got to bottom of this at least

- Promise you won't tell anyone? -

i asked as i took his hands and small electricity shot trough us both

- I promise, i won't tell anyone -

Kai said as he felt the shock of the small electricity

- so the only thing that we need to discover if you're the guy from all my realities -

Small smirk formed on Kai's mouth

- You think I'm the guy from your dreams? -

- I think so. Cos think... every reality, the same guy. Every time a fairytale. Every time ends with that almost kiss... There is only one way to test it -

i looked him in the eyes

- alright... how do we test it? -

kai asked

- Kiss me. If i wake up it won't be you, but if i stay it's you -

Kai's eyes widened for a moment, his expression surprised. He wasn't expecting me to ask for a kiss

- are...are you sure about this? -

i nodded and held his hands as the connection swirled trough our bodies. Kai felt the connecting between you. He closed the distance between us, his lips brushing aginst mine in tender kiss. Electricity shot trough kai's body, his heart racing as he deepened the kiss his hands coming to cradle my face.

- it's you -

i said softly as we broke the kiss. Kai felt a mix of emotions at my words

- me? - he said softly - I'm the guy you've been dreaming about, the guy you've been seeing in your realties? -

i nodded

- every single one of them -

Kai's expression softened. A smile formed on his mouth

- it's me...-

He wanted to introduce himself, but while he was thinking of a cool way to do it, you beat him to it, by coming straight up to him

That's when you two become friends. Your brutal but funny personality was something he liked very much about you
