was that "if you don't take down the pictures you can jeopardise the show" just a way to create an excuse not to release it?? What the hell???
Taken from the latest The Times interview Michael Sheen gave.
As well the return of Nye, there is the potential return of Good Omens, the fantasy show he made with his friend David Tennant that was due a third series before sexual assault allegations arose against its creator [NG]. Sheen and Tennant filmed a feature-length finale instead of a run of episodes. “But I really don’t know what’s going to happen with it,” Sheen says. “We were both relieved we finished the story, but that’s within this really difficult, complicated, disturbing context. I hope people get to see it, but that, to a large extent, is out of our hands.”

I'm seeing so many people saying that Ncuti deserved one more season, that he got robbed, that wtf why so short a run?? And so on.
I just want to say, 'cause clearly not many people knows, that it was decided since the beginning that he would only make 2 seasons, and that it was his decision 'cause the role is very demanding.
I would have loved to have him longer too, just saying this 'cause I feel like a lot of people think he got kicked out, or something, but that's not the case

This
also, come on folks! Let's not spread hate on a story (and a writer) after having seen only 5 seconds of it!
After sleeping on "The Reality War", I've come to a sort of verdict on it: I don't think this episode can be properly judged without acknowledging the behind-the-scenes issues that heavily impacted it.
Specifically, Gatwa's decision to step back due to the postponing of a formal renewal of the show.
Tumblr media
This image has been kicking around. It's a promo image from "The Reality War" of a scene that isn't in the final episode.
It's known that reshoots for the S15 finale took place in February. Based on what the rumours and leaks say, the episode originally had a totally different ending, involving that dance party. I've also heard speculation that it would have set up Poppy as a plot hook for the next season, and there would have been a cameo from Susan Foreman to set up the plot about her return that RTD has been teasing from as early as "The Devil's Chord".
It's clear that RTD and co. were expecting the renewal to come much, much earlier than it did, and that waiting until after S15 had broadcast was not actually the original plan at all. Gatwa gets fed up because he doesn't want to put his career on hold like this, so RTD quickly concocts a new ending with a regeneration.
Poppy was never, ever intended to be turned into Belinda's daughter in the original ending, but whatever RTD had planned for her, he clearly felt it would only work with Gatwa, and so he hastily wrapped that up while also setting up a regeneration. (Incidentally, this also may have left answers to the Belinda/Mundy resemblance hanging.)
As for the Billie Piper of it all? The reshoots being almost last-minute meant RTD didn't really have time to do a full-blown casting for a new Doctor, and he clearly decided to go for shock and spectacle (for reasons that have yet to be determined). I suspect he decided on this rather than a mid-regeneration cliffhanger as a way to have a more decisive cliffhanger, hoping that people will want to know why this happened.
I will also add that Piper probably isn't playing the Doctor: no official source up to and including the episode credits have referred to her as such, and the regeneration itself also looks off.
Although RTD bears some of the responsibility for the messy way things went down, he doesn't own all of it since the lack of decision on a renewal was clearly the inciting incident here. I do hope that someday we learn what the original ending was – it doubtless would have fit the story better. And it would have fit Belinda better as well.
At least we got Jodie Whittaker in a scene not written by Chris Chibnall. The way Thirteen is written there tells me that RTD hasn't completely lost his touch.

DW SEASON 15 FINALE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
So, ok, I know I never posted about Doctor Who before, BUT!!
What the hell?  I won't say I hate that Billie Piper is the new doctor before seeing how the story continues, both 'cause I think it'd be very disrespectful to the writer to make such a judgment before having see the whole story, and 'cause I can't judge a story I haven't seen yet, and I have no reason to say I hate it after having seen 10 frames and having no idea of the reasons behind this choice!  And let's be honest: there are plausible reasons for this happening in universe: the Doctor has already been a guy he saved from Pompeii, and got his face back in his 14th incarnation.  Plus, the bigeneration of the Rani makes me think that whatever did the Toymaker to make the Doctor's bigeneration possible must still be influencing reality.  So this might have something to do with it?
But damn I was not expecting it!
I'm thinking 2 things:
is she the new Doctor? As many others have noticed she's not credited as such! What if she found a way to get back in this universe 'cause something has happened in Pete's universe, and she needs the help of this-universe-Doctor? Or she needs to warn the Doctor of something that is going to happen in this universe? Or some other similar reason? And talking of parallel universes, we had a few in the last 2 seasons: Rouge is in one, likely the Doctor's granddaughter as well, and the underuniverse or whatever-the-technical-term-is where Omega is imprisoned. Even more, but for Omega, all of those things are still to be resolved...
if she does be the new Doctor... damn, think of when she look in the mirror for the first time! How would this change the Doctor? What would she do? Would she be able to live with that face without getting dragged into the abyss like ten was in season 3, or even worse than him since she would have to see Rose's face every time she looks in a mirror and feel Rose's body every time she's awake, hear Rose's voice every time she talks?

Crowley: "You speak all the languages of the world, we both do. So what's with the French??"
Also Crowley: "When Gabriel smites you, you've been... smited? Smote?"
What's with the English, Crowley?

Me when people who don't necessarily need sign language to communicate still make an effort to learn sign language: 😍
(btw, it's BSL, it's the spelling of his name, and when he put his hand flat in front of his chin and moves it forward, it means thank you)

Why is Jim naked?
Tumblr media
During the naked!Jim-Aziraphale conversation, Az says "and why you are naked" and every time I get to s2e6 I wonder why he was.
We see in s2e6, from the footage of Gabriele's trial, that he says that he would "get off [his] clothes and clean up [his] desk," and I guess it was just an excuse to go to put his memory in the matchbox and run away from heaven. But if this is the case, than why does he actually gets off his clothes? What's the point? It can't be in order to not get recognised, I mean heaven knows his face! So why? I think this is important because Az himself literally asks him

Jimbeiel-Abraham parallel
Today, watching for the I-lost-count-th time s2ep5, I noticed the parallel of Jim and Abraham.
So, my Bible is rusty, but I guess almost everybody knows the story in which god asks Abraham to kill his son as a test of faith, and stops him just before he does.
Crowley asks Jim to "jump out that window" and stops him when he's about to do it, to test his identity.

The witch finder Get Them Before They Get You Dalrymple, or was he a surgeon?
One thing that keeps showing up in my mind, every time I hear or read that name, is: Doctor- Mr! He's a surgeon, not a doctor! Ok, calm down! So,I was saying, Mr Dalrymple might be "condemned as resurrectionist and hung from a rope." And than we see the pub "The Ressurrectionists" with a double sign, on one side our doc- our surgeon, and the other side The Resurrectionist. And then there is our witch finder.
But we have an interesting remark of Shadwell's as well: "Nobody has done what I've done today! Not [list of name which I don't remember], not Dalrymple."
So... what did our Dalrymple do of such an unusual nature? (other than not getting catch by a witch, that is)
Is he Jesus? I mean, after the Antichrist being mislead, I wouldn't be surprised if a plot point were on the line of "well, you know Jesus, right? The guy who can resurrect people? And who died and came back to life himself 3 days after? Yes, exactly, him! Well... it turned out that wasn't the only time he came back to life 3 days after..."

Had a Good Omens Nightmare
So, this morning I had an exam and yesterday evening I had to study for it, 'cause like any responsible adult would do, I always study the day before! The point his, I didn't want to study, like at all. So I put up an episode of GO (s2e6 btw, not 'cause I hate myself but there I was and I can't skip episodes 'cause my brain doesn't like it if I do). It helps me to study, having the tv or music as a background, for some to me unknown reasons.
Well, all this to say that the episode ended, I finished the chapter, like 5 minutes later, and went straight to sleep.
I was waken up by the alarm, and I remembered exactly the nightmare I just had:
s3 was out. I was watching it. It begun with Crowley changing hairstyle at a sudden, like 40 seconds in. He and Az came into a bookshop which looked more like Maggy's shop but with books instead of records, and at that point Crowley took out a lot of sunglasses, and Az said "you remember when you wore those?" indicating a specific pair, and Crowley begun to tell a lot of past episode, like flashbacks but told instead of shown. There I thought "it must be for time reasons, it takes less screen time to tell than to show." Crowley went on with a few pairs of glasses, and telling a few flashbacks. At a point Adam came in the shop, he sat in front of Crowley and the two talked, I don't remember what about. After all that talking Adam went away from kind of a back door, which led to a corridor, and Az and Crowley went in the door in front of that, which led to a white room where they met one person... being... whatever they were. Here Az said "did they all come?" And I'm not sure why, since only Adam did and now there's this stranger, nobody else... Anyway at that point there was a "you remember when she said..." and a flashback started where a woman was predicting the second coming. Aaaand... credits.
So, it was awful, it was kind of Crowley telling stories to explain what didn't make sense in s2, only his stories made even less sense! The second coning was left as something happing in the future.
And you are probably saying "yep, it really was a nightmare" but nope! Not for this! I haven't yet told you why it was a nightmare! It was 'cause not only they didn't kiss, nor hug, nor touched each other's, like... hands... they're relationship was not covered at all, they acted like acquaintances, no Crowleian teasing, no Aziraphaelian side glances, nothing!

Good Omens Finale mild-kinda-spoiler-I-guess-so-I-wouldn't-read-if-you're-avoiding-them behind the cut
so, am I wrong, or the first time we see Az's bookshop is in 1941? It's mentioned in the Bastille ("weren't you opening a bookshop?"), but the first time we actually see it on screen is in 1941 (again, am I wrong? Haven't rewatch s1 in a while 😅). So what if it's a flashback? A previous bookshop of Az's? 🤔
Crowley's coat seams to be along the style of the one he wears in 1941, same for Az's hat...

So I’ve seen the news re: Good Omens now ending as a 90 minute special instead of six full episodes.
Just a bit of encouragement here.
Think of a movie. One of those short, lighthearted 90-minute summer flicks where you went into it maybe not expecting too much. A distraction. A few laughs. A decent story. Some cheesy special effects.
Remember how that movie changed your life? How you got SO invested? How you were smiling so much at the funny parts? How you were so emotionally devastated by the sad or dramatic or tense parts? How you watched the credits roll after the happy ending, nicely wrapped up, and you couldn’t believe it had only been 90 minutes? How it felt like a dream where you had lived a whole lifetime with these characters? How you couldn’t stop thinking about it and you rewatched it again and again and you continued to build on this world and make it so much bigger than the 90 minutes we were given?
It will be okay.
