True Crime Post 12: Jeffery Epstein
Epstein was a very wealthy and power businessman who was found guilty of involvement in sexual abuse and trafficking of young girls. Many women came forward with their testimonies about Epstein and his abuse to them. He had other women recruit for him to get young girls and offer the girls large sums of money to perform different acts. Many of the young girls came from households with lower income. He confessed to these crimes. He was arrested in July of 2019 and found dead in his cell in August of that same year. His death was ruled a suicide but there were many things that all added up to be suspicious. The two biggest in my opinion being security footage of the night of his death as well as an unbroken hyoid bone. In majority of suicides by hanging the victim is found with a broken hyoid bone. In recent findings it was been announced the footage was found and, in the footage, he is seen alone in his cell.

True Crime Post 11: The Tylenol Murders
In 1982 seven deaths occurred after Tylenol was laced with cyanide. The victims included a wide age range from 12 years old to 35 years old. Investors found that after the medicine was produced an individual tampered with the bottles on store shelves. This led to a recall of Tylenol due to the uncertainty of how the contamination happened. Two suspects, James W. Lewis and Roger Arnold, were detained but charges were not able to be made because direct involvement could not be proven. Lewis was suspected because he sent a letter to the owner of Tylenol demanding a large sum of money to stop the murders. He was convicted of extortion but not for the murders.

True Crime Post 10: The Golden State Killer
These crimes were committed during the 1970s to the 1980s and included burglary, rape and murders. Despite these crimes being committed at least 38 years prior, Joseph James DeAngelo was found responsible in 2018. They were able to link him to these crimes through an online genetic database. DeAngelo was found guilty and charged for 13 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of kidnapping. When he was charged, he also confessed to numerous rapes that were never reported. He is now serving for 11 life sentences and was denied the possibility of future parole. This case is very significant because it is the first time genetic databases led to the findings of the individual responsible.

True Crime Post 5: The Menendez Brothers
Referred to as the Menendez Brothers are Erik and Lyle Menendez. They were arrested for the murder of the mother Kitty Menendez and their father Jose Menendez. On the night of August 20th, 1989, Erik and Lyle walked into the room of their parents with shotguns and shot their parents. After these murders they later called 911 and put on a production to distract the investigators from getting on their track. Once they got the money for their parent’s life insurance they spent lots of money. Erik had a much harder time dealing with what they had done and broke down and talked to a psychologist. That psychologist then went to the police and told them everything that he was told in their session. Once investigators looked into the crime it became known their motive for killing their parents. Both boys were repeatedly sexually assaulted by their father from a young age. Their mother knew about the assault and did not stand up for them. The boys saw no other way out other than to kill their parents.
