this episode was focused on rei but it made me appreciate kazuki even more. jokes aside about our favorite malewife™️, it takes a lot to support someone who is at rock bottom. kazuki wasn't in a good place either but he still made an effort so that his friend ate well, slept in a clean bed, wore clean clothes and wasn't alone all the time until he got on his own feet again. and that's something rei will never forget.

I just realized (idk if I'm right) that we're past with the present part in Episode 1. It happened somewhere between episodes 5 and 6.

This is now a different timeline. That present in Episode 1 seems out of place right now if you follow the emotional flow of the events from the start.

That means we're getting a different resolution for this family and I will fcking give my everything even my virginity to PA Works if the ending become greatly satisfying.

I already absolutely loved Kazuki but after ep 8 my love for him reached a whole new level.

Episode 8 has convinced me that the opening song isn’t just about how the guys feel about Miri, but also how Rei feels about Kazuki specifically.

Hey, I want to love, is this true love? Is just wanting to be loved insincere? What should I do? Oh, what should I do? As usual, the whole city is madly in love and excited. Extras like me just go home, but I’m not sulking at all. And then you appeared suddenly, as though you were ripping through those days with your smile that leaves me numb. You shattered my heart. Hey, I want to love, is this true love? Is just wanting to be loved insincere? What should I do? Oh, what should I do? How the heck should I know? Their whole conversation in the car, talking about when they first started living together… they’re describing the song exactly. How Rei was alone, and had never experienced anything even remotely resembling love and affection. But then Kazuki comes blazing in and completely turns his life upside down. Kazuki immediately shows Rei that he is, in fact, worthy of receiving the love and affection he didn’t even realize he craved so much.

You didn’t matter much to me… but then you suddenly started cleaning.

I couldn’t stand watching you live like that.

I wanted to tell you to back off.

Yeah, I’ll bet.

But… it’s wasn’t so bad.

And now that Rei is confronted with the possibility of losing the life he’s built with Kazuki, he realizes just how much Kazuki actually means to him. And I think it’s suddenly dawning on him that he’s happy. And he’s absolutely going to do everything he can to protect his happiness. To protect Miri. To protect Kazuki.

No wonder Rei immediately assumed that Kazuki had abandoned them in ep 7 after not seeing him for a whole day if you take into account that he would even go as far as cutting Rei's hair and making sure that he showered regularly. Rei must have been really freaked out to find himself suddenly completely alone since Kazuki is basically his rock/emotional support dog.
