Central Ring Planetary Maps (Current as of 2/12/25)
just gonna plant these here to get my brain workin as i continue this process for what i have down for the Mid-Ring, before taking a break for the night. each image description has the following, in this order: Planet Name: -Language; Race -total moons -# hour day cycle -# seasons -% water, % land used: donjon; Fractal World Generator to create the maps! may color edit them in the future to look more like each planets' environments. should be funnnn. but for now, have some basic stuff about each system (so far!!!!!!!) and their habitable planets. roughly estimated it would be likely, with terraforming sciences, that thered be up to 3 habitable planets per system. humans... spread. rapidly. need to come up with potential colonized planets by other races still, so thatll be fun! generally, if it says that the race is "human", its gonna have people of all kinds from elsewhere too. us humans just like expanding rapidly lmfaooo
Obit One System: 3 lifeform planets, 2 uninhabitable, 3 gas
------
Au Vermi System: 3 lifeform planets, 1 uninhabitable, 3 gas
------
Xiomar System: 2 lifeform planets, w/ moons terraformed, 3 uninhabitable, 4 gas
------
Corthi Sept System: 1 lifeform planet w/ terraformed moon, 3 uninhabitable, 3 gas

The Dritoon Federation
Dritoon is the only habitable planet in the Coribar system, far from the rest of the Intergalactic Union in the Outer Ring, and runs on a 248 day cycle around their sun, 28 hours a day, with typical 60-minute hours and 60-second minutes. A planet with nearly half-land and half-sea. Once a colony planet from a human planet of unknown origin somewhere within the Mid-Ring, the planet blossomed into peace and prosperity. There is no poverty, no hunger, completely accessible healthcare, education, and so much more. Run by a global government titled simply as the Dritoon Federation, the people of the planet live in complete harmony, a population of just over 2 billion.
Everyone on this planet is treated as equals, no matter what they do. At age 18, the youth are given their future career by the government, based partially on their grades, but mostly seeming at random. Once one is given their career path, they cannot change it, cannot complain, and they must learn to embrace it and enjoy it. Those in - what other planets would deem “lower” - positions of farming, or garbage care, janitorial, and other similar duties are seen as esteemed by their friends and family, as it is a great duty to the Federation to serve the people and the planet. While pay is still based on the position, no one goes hungry and no one is homeless.
But it isn’t as it seems. Not entirely. To some it’s all seen as an extreme. Students who do not meet their age requirements in their grading are removed from school and placed in a secure institution where they are taught until they reach the requirements expected of them. Those who are born with certain “mental deficits” are removed from society as a whole - no one knows what happens to them. Anyone deemed outside the Federation’s norms are found out quickly and, in order to “keep the peace,” removed from public view. In severe cases, those who protest against the Federation, those who purposefully deviate from the norm, or are loudly presenting as outcasts are arrested and, if they refuse “treatment,” are executed. On public television.
Dritoon only has one television station, the news, which is broadcast across the globe simultaneously across the timezones. It produces the same basic things: new government worker announcements, weather, intergalactic news - mostly in cases when Dritoon is visited by the Intergalactic Union Council, which almost never happens - and, very rarely, executions of deviants.
Anyone deviating severely, ones who "refuse to listen to reason," are executed on live television. Those who chose to go against the Federation, rebels and dissidents, as well as those who cannot fit in whatsoever, are tracked down by government workers ("police" would be putting it harshly, of course), and, without being given fair trial - as it's seen there is no reason for it - put to death. In severe cases, it's by firing squad, but usually the execution is deemed "painless."
But of course, planetary laws deemed the process typical, so the I.G.U. has no reason to step in. So, naturally, the rest of the galaxy has no idea that Dritoon is not what it seems.

quietly thinking abt one of the main characters for this that I'll be using eventually
how shaken she probably was when she fled her home planet. an outer ring planet that started as a humble human colony, which in future decades ended up turning into a global facist government disguised as more socialist/communist-like (need to research the difference better). a planet that only ever interacts with people from foreign planets when trade ships land (and the shipyard workers are the only ones who ever see the other planetary races...and can't talk about it outside of work due to governmental job laws).
just. how stunned and conflicted she was at the first planetary waystation she was at, seeing so many people from so many other planets. people from planets also around the outer ring, to travelers from the midring and central, along with other humans.
no wonder it took her so long to notice the almost concussion she gave herself when she stowed away on a Kroll ship, when the ship got out of hyperspeed travel and she smacked her forehead against a pip above her shdjgkglhl
#m rambles#m's ocs#scifi#intergalactic union world building#someone p l e a s e gimme inspo questions I BEG#maybe abt the planets? if i ramble in writing itll help shdjgkg#the dritoon federation#<-planet in mention and also the book name for the character

thnx! I found a copy of it online the other day, haven't gotten around to talkin bout it yet, but it was definitely a rly interesting read!!!
"All Tomorrows" it's a story about future of humankind where they meet more advanced alien race.
Honestly you should read it yourself is you want the full (a bit unsettling) experience, I'm not sure if you'd like to be spoiled on everything, but it has a lot of different civilizations spread out all around the galaxy. Human ones, the ones that hardly could be considered human anymore, and even couple with non-earth origins.
The races have their history, cultures and so on, at least for me this book is a great sci-fi inspiration.
There was even a big "fandom" for some time, after one guy made a video on yt about it, but many people quickly left, due to lack of more content.
But still, there's a lot of fan made stuff too, you can DM me about it if you'd like. About "All Tomorrows" or different sci-fi books/media.
oh bet that sounds amazing and legit right up my alley for the scifi thing I'm workin on imma def see if my library has it
thanks for the recommendation!!! I love having new reference material for my space nerd brain to get wrapped around ^3^ /gen

HI! SO!!! @mpathicoracle HERE TO BE A COMPLETE NERD AND USE THIS ACCOUNT TO INFODUMP ABOUT MY NEVER ENDING SCIFI CREATION
The Intergalactic Union (the name could change eventually) is something I made up about a year ago or so after trying to binge all of Star Wars in chronological order - gave up around the middle of the Clone Wars series but it's fine. It is heavily a work in progress, as there's so much to it, and, ngl, I'm so super close to making it a big collective project. I've begun making the planets in the IGU, a design of what the galaxy looks like, the planets' people. The simplest of things, solely for about Four(4) books I plan on writing (that could change too!).
I am genuinely looking for references of the following: other similar scifi novels/shows/fiction, astronomical references, sociology/theology/etc references (to better enhance the planets' cultures, races, ideals, etc), and general other scientific sources (i.e. chemistry, biology, technology, and so on). I am trying to make all of this as relatively scientifically accurate as I can, something I seriously love trying to do when worldbuilding.
I've so far made 36 planets, of which 12 are habited/colonized by humans, the rest of their own races. I do plan on having non-carbon-based lifeforms as well, so references of how that could work would be great, too!
Some of the future posts will probably seem like disorganized ramblings, but there will also be organized posts, especially for each planet that gets made, each organization (of which is the Guardsfolk, Temple of Kinest, Psy-Medica, and The IGU Council so far), and, eventually, the character's of my making.
If I can manage to make this a collective project in the future, there will, of course, be posts shared about others' people and so on and so forth! I dug myself my own grave in attempting to galaxybuild all by myself, so it'll definitely ease my mind lmaooo.
Again, the name will probably change, but I'll be using "#intergalactic union world building" as the main source of the tags to keep things functional, as well as attempting to sort posts by their respective areas (i.e. each planet will have a tag, each group, etc)
I've been using notion.so to keep myself organized, but def needed a space to endless ramble like a goddamn crazy person. if anyone is curious: i am indeed neurodivergent as all fucking hell. gimme space and worldbuilding, my two biggest special interests, and you'll never hear me shut the fuck up lol.
