imagine your f/o offering to wash you up after you've fallen into a depressive spiral. You've neglected to take care of yourself. You've isolated again. Your f/o isn't mad or disappointed that you've failed to look after yourself. They're just very worried that your mental health has taken a dive to the point you can't stand up on your own sometimes. It's increasingly concerning how much hurt you've directed to yourself and to others to keep away because you think you deserve to suffer alone. But your f/o isn't easily convinced to leave you be.

they prepare a bath and go in with you. they gently lather your body with soap, carefully clean your face, taking it slow to not hurt or shock you. they scrub shampoo and conditioner on your hair. it's a quiet moment for the both of you. nothing to hear but the water running and splashes every so often. you close your eyes trying to keep calm and just let yourself breathe in this moment. you've been pushing them away too. neglecting them.

but your f/o isn't bothered by the gap. they're just scared that it'll extend with time and they might not be able to see you again. to see you happy again. you're alive now. that's a first step.

they wash the soap clean, making sure to not miss any part. they dry you off with a warm towel and brush your hair. you're alive now. that's all that matters.

they guide you back to bed if you'd like. they've promised themselves to keep a closer eye on you now. it's eating you away. they need to help you as much as they could. they don't mind doing it again. you're alive now. you should be tomorrow.

It was a cosy morning at home. Archie and Jacques slept soundly in their apartment, cuddling in their large bed together. Jacques is a rough sleeper, so Archie holds onto him as best as she can every night, to keep him cosy and still. Plus, she likes using Jacques's fluffy chest as a pillow.

Eventually, their 11:00 AM alarm went off, which is the ideal time for them both to wake up. Both of then stay up really late, so they sleep in late, too. It gives them more time to snuggle and stuff.

Archie sat up in the bed and gently shook Jacques to wake him up. "Wake up, sweetheart." She whispers to him, with a look of love in her eyes. "We gotta do things this morning, baby! Remember? It's grocery day."

Jacques slowly falls out of sleep, grumbling out of tiredness as Archie consistently attempts to wake him up. He mutters something in gibberish, and then looks over at Archie. "Groceries... Grocery day... What fuck...?" He says, confused after just waking up. His sleepy voice is unintelligible enough, but his French accent makes it even harder to understand (For some people). Archie has been around Jacques long enough, though, to understand everything about him.

Archie giggles and puts her hands in Jacques's messy bedhead hair to straighten it up a bit. "Yes, baby! We have lots to do! First, we gotta get in the bath and do our medicine things! You know what that means?" Jacques's face turns into one of horror as he thinks about how he has to get a shot, like he does every morning.

"D...Do we really have to? I don't like needles...!" Jacques asks this question every morning, and the answer is always yes. "Of course we do! You gotta be the manliest man around, y'know?" Archie says enthusiastically, rubbing Jacques's cheek feathers with her thumbs and then nuzzling her nose against his beak.

"You're so nice to me..." Jacques says in a whiny tone, but he isn't complaining. "I'm nice to you, because I love you, Jacques! You're the guy I wanna marry someday! You mean the world to me!" Archie says. She emphasises on this statement by kissing Jacques on the tip of his beak, in which Jacques responds with a whimper and a face that would probably be full-on red, if you could see anything past his feathers.

And with that, the two of them get ready to go grocery shopping. First, they start out by taking a bath. They bathe together, all of the time. It isn't out of sexual gratification as some might think, but just because Archie and Jacques like to take care of each other. They just have cosy baths with bath bombs, hot water, fancy scrubby soap, scrubbers, and lots of bubbles! Archie's favourite part of taking a bath is washing Jacques's feathers with special soap for birds. She loves how embarrassed he gets for having someone wash more than his backside for him. Frankly, it's just very cute.

After their bath, Archie starts to gently brush the water out of Jacques's feathers. Jacques usually just shakes all of the water off like most birds usually do, but Archie likes to help Jacques by brushing his feathers, and blow drying them. Mostly, because she likes to see how fluffy he gets after a long drying.

Lastly, they get dressed, check their finances, and walk out of their apartment to go shopping. Archie puts on a baggy T-shirt, a skirt, shorts underneath, knee-high socks, and sneakers. Jacques just wears his favourite beanie and flannel, along with a band tee underneath.

As they go shopping, they split up to focus on different things. It's time apart for them, unfortunately, but it's much more efficient, and Archie likes to get little surprises for Jacques while he isn't around to see her getting them. This time, Archie picks up a big box of chocolate for them to share, along with a big, weighted, stuffed bunny with hearts on it's faux fur. She also picks up a little notebook and glittery pens to write love notes in.

Meanwhile, Jacques is picking up completely different things. He gets the usual cheap foods like cup noodles, microwave dinners, processed pastry "food", and boxes full of soda cans. But, he also picks up some things that he knows Archie loves, like boxed macaroni and cheese, ingredients to make pinwheels with, raspberries, peaches, sour candy, cartons of juice. Jacques isn't the best at showing affection when he's tired like this, but he at least does the little things to show that he cares.

Later in the day, Archie and Jacques meet up in the middle of the store to check out their groceries. Archie already checked out a few things (The presents for Jacques), but not other things that she picked up, like soaps, pads, toothpaste, etc. Jacques is a little confused by that, but he kind of understands why she did that.

After checking out, the couple walk back to the apartment together. Once they get in, they start putting things away, and then Jacques goes into the bedroom to work on his music. This is a great opportunity for Archie to put together a surprise for Jacques! She knows how hard he works, having a job as in cosmetology by (week)day, and then making music at night. So... Why not put together a little surprise stay-at-home dinner date?

Firstly, Archie sets up the coffee table in the small living room area. She puts a little lacy blanket on top of it, and then some dishes to keep it held down. Then, she goes to make an improv recipe in the kitchen. She makes an attempt to do some sort of pasta-type thing, and a desert made out of bread, peanut butter, and cinnamon, but it doesn't look super great. She puts the food that she made on the plates that she put on the coffee table, and then pours some soda into two wine glasses. She lights some incense next to the TV, and puts on some romantic music. She dims the lights in the living room and the hallway to make things extra atmospheric.

Archie doesn't know how she's gonna get Jacques to come to the living room without spoiling the surprise, so she just figures it out along the way. She starts by walking into the bedroom. Jacques isn't paying attention, with his headphones on, so there's no need to worry about making noise. You surprise Jacques, though, by hugging him from behind and kissing him on his neck and cheek.

"Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!" Archie vocalises as she kisses Jacques. "Arch..." Jacques sounds defeated, but he's actually quite flattered! He loves getting random attention from his girlfriend, even wheh the time isn't the best. Archie pulls his headphones back a little bit so she can speak to her birdy boyfriend. "Are you at a stopping point on this, baby? I put something together for you." She days quietly into his ear. "Uhh..." Jacques murmurs, checking the time on his desktop. "Yeah...! I've been working for a long time now, I need to take a break, zut alors." "Awesome! Follow me!" Archie takes Jacques by the wing and drags him down the hall, into the living room.

"This is a lil' bit spooky..." Jacques is afraid of the dark hallway. "It's not like this hallway, and this dark living room that we are approaching is scary to me or anything, zut alors!" We totally believe you, Jacques. "Come on, baby. You'll love it!" Archie approaches the living room and sits down on the couch, patting the space next to her to tell Jacques that he can sit there.

"Woah... Did you do this for me?" Jacques is surprised. Archie does this all of the time, but Jacques's reactions always make it feel like these kinds of things are brand new. "I put this dinner, this desert, this everything together for us!" "Why would you do that?" "Because I love you! I love you so much! More than I love the Earth, the moon, the stars..." Archie goes on and on for a moment, listing examples of things that she loves less than she loves Jacques. "Okay, I get it, zut alors..."

"I love you bunches, is all! Is that too much?" Archie pleads with fluttering eyelashes. "Not too much at all." Jacques responds, inhaling from his vape before looking at Archie. "So, um... Shall we eat?" He asks, to which Archie responds with an enthusiastic nod.

The food was very average, but it was obvious that Archie tried her best. She made it with nothing but true love in her heart, and that is all that matters. After they finish eating together, they cuddle up on the couch to watch a movie. In the middle of the movie, Archie grips onto the sleeves of Jacques's flannel and gazes at him with needy eyes until he notices her. "Do you need something, mon amour?" Jacques asks, noticing Archie's blatant need for attention. "Yes! I do need something! I need to show you another thing!" "Another thing? You're spoiling me today, zur alors." Archie giggles at this comment and then pulls out the stuffed rabbit and box of chocolate that she bought earlier at the grocery store.

Jacques, not really knowing what to say, pulls Archie in for a kiss, and then the two of them cuddle with the stuffed rabbit for the rest of the night. Hooray! The end!

i had a really bad nightmare that felt so real to me. it was of someone here on tumblr and they self shipped with thunderbird (my #1 biggest f/o. he is my world). but the thing is. their self ship got more attention and fanart than mine and their love for him was more intense but they weren't even a couple for that long. and i've been self shipping with thunderbird for like a little bit over a year now. but like. lemme get back on topic. they were self shipping with thunderbird and i so miserably tried to 1-up them but i wasn't able to and it was just. so heartbreaking.

god. if this happened irl i would quite literally just end it all right there. i genuinely love being alive. but if someone were to take my precious love away from me like that, i would feel like i had no reason to live anymore.
