The only other objectively evil creatures in Rain World are the barnacles. Each and every one of them loves to conspire how to ruin your cycle and we know this is true.

Which is why I propose we need to drop Artificer into a pit full of barnacles.

If Hunter's illness comes from its karmic imbalance and carnivorous diet then Artificer deserves to have a disease for the same reasons. Make it as lethal and painful as possible. Artificer should spend its final cycles in absolute misery.

I think making Artificers dream cutscenes playable was a big mistake. It causes so much confusion to new players. In the scene where the first pup dies you can just choose to give the pearl back and be safe. Then in the next dream it's implied that the pup died no matter what. They didn't even need to add cutscene art or anything. Just don't make any of the dreams playable and keep them in the game style like artificers starting cutscene

Have you read the Metropolis Ending Went Wrong? It's the comic by Elsa rain world stuff where Arti pays for her crimes. A bit violent but I loved it and I recommend it.

I have seen the comic long ago, and while I do like the concept of it I... can't say the same for the writing. Sorry about that but it's wonderful that one version of Artificer out there is having a terrible time.

I'm hoping future watcher updates add the scrapped enlightened scav plot. There's a few hints videocult is planning to do it ( if u know u know)

In the meantime the Guide's modded campaign looks good. Dev said they plan to add Artificer as a NPC you can kill and if that happens it will become the peak of RW modding.

I love me some edgy characters but trying to make Artificer more than that actively made it worse. Not every villain needs a tragic backstory.

Morally gray? Pffft. Calling Artificer regular morally black is putting it too lightly. It's a pitch-black pit of hatred and misery.

For the record I don't think any other character or group in Rain World is evil. Not Pebbles, not the Benefactors, not the Void Worms, not [REDACTED]. Everyone you play as or come across is just getting by, or doesn't fully understand the harm their actions cause or both. It's just life.

Which makes Artificer and it's clearly villanous ways all the more jarring. I do not give it the same respect or nuance I give to the rest because it has not earned it. It did this to itself.

Gourmand clears. It's very smart, a capable leader, an actually good parent and chill as fuck. Artificer fans should convert to loving Gourd instead.
