Zeno daily life is the furthest the story gets, yes! Though there are other side games, they all take place after different endings of the base game rather than daily life.

im super curious your take on this (since iirc, you are one of the main ones updating the wiki right now) but i was reading over maeno's wiki page, and it says towards the beginning of his personality description that he has "altruistic habits" and does " self-sacrificing actions"; which i clearly see throughout the game ofc. but towards the end of the description that he is "is basically not interested in other people, though he finds treating people 'interesting'", which seems contradictory, but i also saw this mentioned when reading maduzu's q&a translated.

i guess this is more character analysis related, but what do you think this means? does it mean when he finds someone interesting, he starts to sacrifice himself for them? or is the "not interested in other people" part from the past? i'm just slightly confused from the wording on the wiki. hope this makes sense, sorry!!

prefacing this with I wasn't actually the one to write aki's page (nor any of the other main four characters!) I just wrote the wiki pages for the side characters! I'll still share my thoughts regardless though!

When talking about aki's "altruistic habits", it's less that he's inherently selfless towards strangers, but moreso that for people important to him, he's willing to sacrifice himself to any length in order to "save" them. You can see this throughout most of the base game, but i think this tendency is exemplified best in zeno daily life ending 3, where he gives himself up to Kanrai's experiments to protect Tsugino and Kochi.

As for the lack of interest in other people, I think it's less that he doesn't care about people, but more that he doesn't really look at them as human beings, but rather more like an interesting creature to examine and learn from? It's stated pretty explicitly in the aquarium short story with Tsugino, where Tsugino has an entire realization that the way Aki looks at him is exactly the same way he looks at the fish in the aquarium, and like all other living things he interacts with.

It's not like he doesn't care for the people around him, or that he's not viscerally upset when they're hurt, but he just doesn't always see them in the ways that they want to be seen--Tsugino especially.

This line in particular made me laugh really fucking hard because Kanya… really didn’t know Risshun well? Risshun would have left Kanrai by the time Kanya was 10, and I can’t imagine him having contact with the Kareno family after that

So Kanya is comparing Aki to someone he looked up to with a child’s eyes… who was out of his life before he grew up and was able to understand him… who’s been haunting him his whole life since…

Meanwhile, Kanya was essentially one of the most involved in raising Aki himself, given he was looking after the Ushirono siblings and aki rather often, so of course Aki isn’t mythologized in the same way!! You can really tell from their banter about their mutual foul mouths that they know each other quite well…

They’re pretty much exclusively mentioned in the side games! White rose academy has white knights as a prevalent cameo, and there are small cameos in ghost 6 and grave of traumerei for both white knights and corpse burial

Hey idk if im an idiot or something but when was it ever mentioned in zeno daily life that fuyu and tsugino are brothers? because i played through everything and i still don't see where that was said, or was it mentioned in a tweet? I don't know. Im just curious to know where it was mentioned, that's all.

It’s mentioned once in a super offhand way— kanrai has a line where he mentions to Kanya that aki is looking after his relative. It’s only ever mentioned explicitly that kanrai is his father in a family tree from like . 2016

While I don’t think that aki would return tsugino’s feelings in canon, I think if he did he would just feel like shit about it and literally never let himself act on them do you see my vision

Aki who feels horrifically guilty about feeling this way about not only his patient but someone so much younger than him. Aki who knows that returning tsugino’s affections would make him spiral even more. Aki who’s self sacrificial streak kicks in and he believes it would be best if he stifles his feelings until they go away. Surely they will, right? And aki who feels EVEN MORE GUILTY with how much tsugino reminds him of natsu…

hihi!! i dont know if you've gotten a question about this before in the past, though, do you know anywhere that i can read zeno daily life eng translation? i've been looking for a while trying to find the supposed doc that someone has translated it in, but i've had no luck trying to find it.

the translation doc has been taken down, unfortunately! Someone reposted it to ao3 without permission, and when asked to take it down by the translator, they orphaned the fic and it took months to get it properly removed. Because of this, the translator took down the doc until he finishes the official translation! As of his last update, it should come out somewhere between May and June at the latest.

So basically, currently there's not an easily available way to play daily life in English, but there should be soon!

IIRC off the top of my head, after good true end E! technically though, it takes place after good true end E from the original ZENO, so there may be small differences between the two. I haven't played the original myself, so I can't provide specifics
