“And would you let me have her?” Aemond asks, looking up at the black Queen. “I asked you to honour our betrothal and you refused.”

“She is already promised to another.”

“A promise that can be broken,” Aemond says, spitting the blood from his mouth once more. “Wed her to me and I shall bend the knee.”

Rhaenyra’s eyes widen in shock at his words.

“Or at least give her the choice,” Aemond spits, wiping his mouth. “Allow her to choose.”

“And you will kneel before me?”

Aemond grins. “Give me Aemma Velaryon and I will give you your crown.”

“Education has a cost,” Aemond repeats. “My price is your pleasure.”

Aemma inhales sharply, ignoring the stampede in her belly and the fire that burns through her veins. There is a part of her that wishes to strip from her gown. That part wants to bare her body to the one-eyed prince. That part wants to feel his tongue between her thighs once more.

She swallows her desires away and wonders what price she’d pay to ride a dragon once more.

She wonders if her dignity is worth flying through the clouds again.

And she knows the answer.

Inhaling sharply, Aemma kneels before Aemond Targaryen, curses him with every ounce of her being and says, “Teach me to claim a dragon, uncle. My pleasure is yours.”
