it was the constant pull, like a proximity alarm. it dragged her to him, but, then again, she was a willing prisoner. she craved his arms, wrapped like irons bars around her, promising to always keep her safe. and here they were again, about to be reunited after another death. she didn’t announce herself, only swung herself into his arms standing on her toes to kiss his cheek.

“Nothing, literally,” He states, voice hard as he looks down at the ice. In a swift move, he kicks off the biggest chunk he can and makes his way off of it, “I have nothing,” He concludes, “Thanks for nothing.”
“I don’t believe that.” Everyone had something. Even if it was just the sound of the ocean, the feeling of wind, the taste of an apple. The warmth of the sun or the cold of snow. “Look. You don’t have to tell me. Just focus on something you like. Focus on it instead of the fear. It might help.”

Looking around, Eldon noted how he’d been the one to cause this. It was small, but imagine how his mother caused the whole kingdom to become icy and a barren wasteland. What could he possibly do with this curse? “Love?” He questions, glancing around as if to find the answer directly in front of him. His mind is blank and he feels himself sigh, “No one.”
No one. Oh, yeah, that was super helpful. “Alright, then, favorite food? Favorite color? What do you like to do? What makes you happy?” If she couldn’t get to love, well, not fear would be a good place to start. Everyone had SOMETHING that made them happy, right? Even kids from the Isle.

“Can you stop talking to me for five minutes so I can figure this out?” He speaks rather harshly, though he was beginning to stress himself out to a maximum extent. He wasn’t used to this, he was normally able to keep it at bay. “You’re a really bad liar, you know that, right?” He questions, feeling the sweat begin to form along his face. “SHIT,” He breathes out as he watches the ice begin to grow from his fear.
“Yeah, yeah, silent as the grave.” She mimed zipping her lips closed, but didn’t back away. If things went bad here, what was she supposed to do? It wasn’t like she had Merlin or the Fairy Godmother on speed dial. Oh, what did Merlin tell her about Queen Elsa? Accidentally froze all of Arendelle. Melted it all with-- love? Was it love? It was something to do with her sister and family. “Eldon who do you love?”

@korrhaphi
She probably shouldn’t be freaking out this much about this. It was just a conversation. With her dad. Who already didn’t trust Nimue, and, by extension, didn’t trust her son. And she’d been ok with that because she trusted him to get over it eventually. After all, Meilyr was Merlin’s son, too. But nothing really seemed to have changed and now cotillion was coming up and, well-- well she needed to talk to her dad. “Hey, dad, do you have a minute?”

there was so little time and so much to do. anwen’s birthday was coming up faster than arthur could coordinate everything he had to for the celebration AS WELL his usual workload, even with guinevere helping. he was walking through the halls, his voice echoing over the stone walls as he reminded the castle aids of all that was still left to do ( and he felt sorry for how fast they had to walk to keep up with him but there was no time ). once he was done and they hurried away from him, he took a moment to lean against a wall and take a DEEP BREATH. it took him a moment to register the steps that approached. looking up, his eyes found the boy and he frowned. ‘ beg your pardon ? ‘
He probably should’ve bowed his head, showed some sort of deference to the king. And yet, he stood still, almost as if he didn’t know who was standing in front of him. After a cursory glance to the king, his eyes returned to his examination of the kingdom. “My father speaks of this place so often. And Anwen, too. It’s weird, seeing it for myself. I thought everything would be--- bigger.”

The ginger proceeded to look up at her with his icy eyes, as if begging her to leave so he could figure this out. The stubbornness was only making him more anxious. “Eldon, my name is Eldon Westergaard, of Arendelle,” He announces, almost like a robot since he was so used to saying that title. “Just go, PLEASE.”
“Eldon. That wasn’t so hard, was it?” She smiled, though all she could do was wish that Meilyr was here. If anyone was going to know what to do, it would be Merlin’s son. But he wasn’t here. Figures he wouldn’t be around why she actually needed him to be. “Look, I know you’re scared right now, but being scared is only going to make it worse. You don’t have to be afraid. You see this?” She pointed to her necklace, the red dragon crest of Pendragon. “This protects me from all magic. So, you see, you don’t have to be afraid.” Now she just had to hope he bought the lie.

Eldon hands were coated up to his elbows in frost from his sudden outburst. He was scared — no terrified. “I said STAY BACK.” He orders again in a wavering voice. Eldon wasn’t up for any small talk. He was a monster when these things happened and the fact it happened in the open was even more terrifying.
Advance halted, the princess refused to retreat. “Hey, I’m not coming any closer, ok? But I’m not going to go away.” She wracked her brain, trying to think of the different forms of magic she had learned. Obviously, Auradon Prep didn’t teach much about magic, but she’d had the benefit of being tutored by Merlin. Ice magic? The only person she could think of was Queen Elsa, and she’d been told that fear made things worse. “I need you to tell me your name.”

“STAND BACK,” Eldon shouts, his hands extended outward to keep them at bay. “Please, just stay back,” He breathes. Ice surrounded him, with jagged edges and frost along the sidewalk. His heart raced due to the anxiety racing through him. This wasn’t supposed to happen, god this wasn’t supposed to happen. “It’s dangerous, just stay away from me.”
While others skittered back, Anwen stood firm. This girl who had grown up in a saddle, with a sword in her hand, with an unshakable need to help others. This girl stepped forward, treading carefully when her toes hit frost. Her hands were help up, palms forward to show that she was unarmed, that she meant him no harm. “Hey, you’re new here, right? I’m Anwen. What’s your name?”

Name: Anwen Pendragon Status: Princess of Camelot Family: Arthur Pendragon (father), Guinevere Pendragon (mother) Hair: Blonde Eyes: Blue Bio: The king and queen of Camelot prayed desperately for a child, an heir to carry on the crown of Camelot. When they had all but lost hope, a miracle! Guinevere was pregnant! While a son was preferred the king and queen rejoiced when their baby girl was born. Naming her Anwen, meaning very fair, she was installed as the princess of Camelot. She grew up happily, knowing the love of her family and her people, tutored by Merlin when the wizard could spare a moment.
She cried when she was told she had been enrolled at Auradon Prep. She hated leaving home, leaving her father, but she went anyway. Though she is a princess, she never had much interest in hanging out with the other royalty. She much preferred being on her own and being diligent in her studies. She spoke to them all at some point, of course, but she didn’t think any of them actually considered her a friend. Through the years it has become easier to be away from home, but she always misses Camelot.
When the villain kids arrived in Auradon, Anwen wanted nothing but success for them.

korrhaphi:
a soft huff and a mocking grin welcomed the news. ‘ no surprise there, ‘ he snarked but the smugness only lasted a short moment. it was difficult to contain the curiousity, even for him who grew up to keep everything hidden and tucked away until it was wise to open up. perhaps this was just too important to be contained about. for a moment, he thought about merlin—— he would hate arthur asking questions, knowing about things that he surely didn’t. anwen wouldn’t have gone to merlin first, arthur was always the first on her list. a pang of guilt ate at him as he spoke. ‘ well… did you speak to him ? ‘
“Well,” she mused, “with everything that happened, I can’t really blame her.” She did admit that she didn’t know much of Nimue, either. She didn’t even know if she and Merlin were married or if their son was the result of a one time event. Merlin just didn’t talk about her, though he would at times make the journey to Avalon to visit the pair. But she did know of the trouble Camelot had once had with magic. If she had a child with magic, she would be wary of raising him within the kingdom. “Only a little. He kept to himself mostly. I think he just wanted to observe.”
