WIP Wednesday!
Where the Spirit Meets the Bones - CH4
Trevor peeked his head into their bedroom, Sypha’s strawberry curls resting just under his chin as they both watched Adrian’s sleeping form still resting peacefully in their large bed.
“What did you put in that potion? Is he even still breathing?” Trevor whispered, though his attempt at whispering reminded Sypha of how softly a bear might lumber through the woods.
“Lower your voice,” She pulled on his arm to get him away from the door, “I didn't kill him. I can hear him breathing.”
“I never said you did,” He huffed, “...But you’re sure he still has a heartbeat?” Trevor asked with a considerable amount of concern in his voice, returning to normal volume now that they were ambling towards Adrian’s study.
“Treffy, amor.” Sypha stopped him to put her hands on his cheeks, “The potion was only to prevent nightmares so he could rest better. Adrian is going to be fine.”
