“No,” She answered right away, raising her brows at the other main dancer under Crystal. “I’m just about to head out. I heard the music...You’re improving, Sungha. Maybe someday you’ll be on my level.” Sora teased as she tilted her head at the other.

sungha was minding his own business, dancing, early in the morning. it was a good time to work out, release stress. but he’s startled to see a reflection that isn’t his staring back at him in the mirror, even underneath the dim studio lighting. “oh.” he mutters, turning on the heels of his feet, he glances the person up and down, unable to figure out who is out here in the studio with him at two in the morning. couldn’t be a crazy fan or something, could it? ��hey there, uh– can i– uh, help you with– something?” sungha asks, tucking his hands into his pockets, squinting.

Minjae didn’t know how long the Heaven member had been asleep. He’d come to the Crystal Media building to visit with a friend for a bit, and after insisting that his friend continue their work instead of seeing him out, he’d inevitably gotten lost and found himself in the western wing of the building some way or another. A couple of young trainees had been ogling the sleeping idol’s exposed legs, and so after shooing them away he’d made it a point to shrug off his jacket to drape over her legs — both in case she either got cold or someone else decided to take a look. He paced about nearby, trying to figure out how to find his way out when someone suddenly called out to him, causing him to jump. Once he realized who it was, he wondered if he had accidentally woken her up.

“Eh? The time?” He glanced down at the watch on his wrist ( a debut gift from his father ) before looking back at her. “5:32. Why?”

“Ugh!” She whacked her own head and fiddled with her bag to get her phone in order to confirm the unfortunate circumstance. “I was supposed to meet a friend from 5 until 6...I’ll never make it in time.”

She looked at her phone and scowled. How could she have napped for over an hour? Well, that wasn’t too hard a question. Since Heaven was promoting none of them were getting enough sleep. Sora had almost no friends outside the company and with such a tight schedule on both ends, this hour was the only time it worked for them to hang out. It sucked she had to cancel it.

“I guess I’ll just have to text her to say I can’t make it. Can’t believe it. I never sleep like this. I can usually manage to push through.”

It wasn’t too often Sora got to do photoshoots with members of other girl groups. Lady in particular was still a rookie group and Alice was one of their younger members. Since she hadn’t spoken to her much in the past, Heaven’s main dancer was a little unsure how to begin when they found each other waiting around before the shoot.

“Um,” Sora took a bit too long a pause before starting her thought. “You look very nice in that, Haneul. This dress suits you well.”

“Wait! Hold that door!” The Heaven member called as she saw Natsuko entering the building. Since Sora was holding her coat, a sports drink, her phone and her purse, it hadn’t been too easy to navigate through other entrances on her journey to work. Of course, if got a little over-excited while shouting out to the younger girl. While rushing up to her, she tripped and (of all things) she just had to drop her phone. 

“Shit...” Sora stopped in her tracks and looked down at her cell phone which now sat in a grey pile of snow slush.

“Oh my god.” Elizabeth spoke in English as she sat up from her place on the couch. She was in a far west wing of the company building, a perfect quiet spot to unwind. Unfortunately, the Heaven unwound a little too much and had fallen asleep. She noticed only one person near her, 360′s Minjae, who was walking just a few feet away.

“Hey! Minjae!” She called out. “What time is it?”

“Mmm.. You’re right.” Her head comes to a small nod. Zoey liked shopping, she liked it far too much for her own good, but Sora was right. She didn’t need to spend the money. After all she had so many pair of shoes and was starting to run out of room to put them. “You are full of great ideas! Nayoung grinned as she finished up her banana milk. “Since you haven’t been we must go then.” Zoey had been there once or twice before, but she didn’t mind going again. It was a beautiful place to go and explore and look around. “And sleep! A good nights sleep sounds amazing too.’

Sora smiled as her friend accepted her idea. She felt that, even though she spent lots of time with her members, the dancer did not get to do casual things one-on-one often enough. Even with Zoey, who was her roommate, everything seemed work related. “Perfect. We better not waste any time.” Sora began to walk, gesturing for her fellow member to follow.

“Korea is so beautiful. It’s got a much richer history than North America. I feel like I should appreciate it more.”

Nayoung nodded, she completely agreed with Sora. Nayoung thought her hair was quite bland growing up and although pink wasn’t the colour she would have went for as a child any sort of colour would have made her happy. Though she hadn’t dyed her hair until after debut. Nayoung thought it must have been great to live in canada and be around so many different types of people with so many different hair colours. She always admired the international fans for  for their diversity. “Ah, nothing.” Zoey grinned over to her roommate, “What shall we do? Shopping? Clothes? maybe we can stock up the fridge for the apartment?”

“We don’t need to spend money, Zoey. I’m sure there’s fun to be had just walking around. ” She didn’t mean to be stingy and they were fairly well off, but Sora still felt uncomfortable splurging too much. If they didn’t need to spend and it wasn’t a celebration, she would rather save for a rainy day. “Actually...I’ve never been to the National Folk Museum since I’ve lived here but I feel like I should...We could take this opportunity to check it out for a few hours and be back home for a good night’s sleep, yeah? We both know we need it.”

｡･:*:･ﾟ☆  Truthfully, Gigi wasn’t sure what to think of the Heaven member.  She couldn’t tell if the stunted, awkward responses she was receiving were out of disinterest or embarrassment, but what she did know was that she was already tired of poking and prodding this attempted conversation along when Sora was the one that initiated it with her comments. “Smart girl,” she responded, clicking her tongue briefly before eating the fry herself. Part of her would have expected the younger female to give into the temptation– from her own past experiences she was guilty of sneaking a bite or two of good food when the opportunity presented itself, but maybe that was more reflective of her own headstrong nature rather than the obedience of idols younger than her.  “Good luck out there, by the way. You guys are doing pretty good so far.”

“Thank you, sunbae. I think this is one of my favourites so far. The dances are really fun, especially Bing Bing.” Sora paused, she really missed eating well. She had to start dieting 6 weeks before the comeback and continued to wait for her food freedom. The Heaven member was a huge fan of Heart2Heart when she was young and admired Gippeum greatly. However, she was unsure on how to speak to her without sounding awkward. She was often afraid she’d embarrass herself in front of elders due to a cultural or language block. Sora did think in English and, even after six years, it took a second to remember where she was sometimes.

“Sorry, sunbae...” Was she really just staring that whole time? “I, uh, spaced out for a second. I’m pretty tired.”

of course he didn’t miss her bag—- but that was the whole point of what he was doing. it didn’t take a genius to see that she probably still could’ve fit between him and the walls, even with that giant bag of hers. ❝ if you can barely fit between me and the walls right now, what makes you think you can somersault between my legs? ❞ at that, he stood properly once again, his hands finding their way to his empty pockets as he stared at her. ❝ what do you have in that bag anyway? a corpse? ❞

“I was joking.” She tilted her head as if him returning the banter was something out of the ordinary. “And no, it’s not a corpse. That would be much larger. But would you really be surprised? Who knows what I do in my spare time.”

Sora raised her shoulder slightly to emphasize the bag. “ Don’t worry...It’s just the torso.”

Nayoung shook her head sadly.”Never.” A trip someone foreign sounded like the best thing ever, but it was true that the biggest change they ever experience is a new hair colour. It was quite sad the more Nayoung thought about it. They all worked so hard for so many years and didn’t have much reward for it. “Try going blonde to black- really does a number on your hair.” Nayoung chuckled.”

“When I was little I always wanted hot pink highlights. But I guess most kids did.” Sora didn’t really disclose a lot about her time before trainee years. But Zoey was probably someone who knew the most about it. At least, she knew Sora had been adopted out of South Korea. 

“What are you doing right now? Do you wanna go some place? I’m done my schedule for today.”

“Practice makes perfect as people say.” Through elementary school, middle school and even some of high school, Nayoung was alone most of the time and the girl hated it more than anything. Learning languages became her distraction. Instead of toys she would have asked for books to learn English or classes to learn Spanish or french for her birthdays. With barely any friends, busy parents and an annoying younger brother, learning the languages was a good distraction from it all and took up most of the time she was alone. Alone but never unhappy. “A trip to canada.” Nayoung hummed slightly sipping from her straw, “Sounds nice. Actually.. a trip in general sounds nice.’

“There’s never a break, is there?” Sora shrugged. “We practice then promote and then we go again. The biggest twist in our lives is a new hair colour. And honestly, I’ve been going between brown and black for years.”

Sora had always been impressed by Zoey’s fluency in so many languages. She’d originally assumed the girl was a world traveller. But, as it turns out, she just works really hard.

｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ Gigi was prepared to let this moment go as nothing more than a lapse in judgment, though a tiny part of her was still seething inside at the crass nature of the girl in front of her. Judging by the way her mannerisms quickly switched, Elizabeth seemed aware of the errors of her ways, and that was enough to keep her from pressing the matter further. “I didn’t think it was that much. Wouldn’t you eat this well if you were able to?” The redhead shrugged, reaching into her bag of food (as she eyed the room suspiciously) for a fry, waving it in the Heaven member’s direction. “Your one chance. I won’t tell if you don’t, which I’m sure you won’t.”

“Ah...Maybe, sunbae.” Should she say something about how Gigi’s figure was so perfect that she was surprised the elder could eat so much? Should be compliment her fast metabolism? No, that was a little weird. Before she knew it, the Heart2Heart leader was waving a french fry under her nose. Sora didn’t even realize she’d been following it with her head.

“Umm. No, I shouldn’t. I’m promoting right now. I think I’d get in trouble...” Sora averted her eyes from the fry. Probably one of the shittiest things about being an idol for her was not getting to eat anywhere near the way she wanted to.

“Aigoo.”  Zoey shook her head mostly at herself. She hadn’t thought to tip it back or even tip it forwards, she had thought the milk was never going to be given to her.So she was thankful someone who knew the vending machine trick just so happened to be her roommate. It was to have Sora around because when Zoey couldn’t think of something Sora did vice versa. They balanced each other out nicely. “I’ll have to take notes back at home.” She giggled as she poked the straw she had gotten a while back into the top of the container of milk, “I will enjoy every moment of it’s gross ass-ness” Zoey too replying in english as she proceeded to sip some of the milk out,  always glad to have opportunities to use her English.

She chuckled at her friend’s comments and watched as she drank the milk. “You speak English so well, Nayoung. I wish we had more time off because then I could take you to Canada sometime. I’m sure you’d love it.”

That was kind of a lie. If they had time off, the likelihood that Elizabeth would take her fellow member to Canada was low. It’s not like she had the money to fly two girls overseas after all. But the thought was nice in theory.

“Right, um...my apologies, sunbae. I didn’t mean it in a bad way. It just looks like a lot.” Oops. She hadn’t meant to come on so strongly. Elizabeth made a note to watch her tone in the future and tread carefully for the rest of the conversation.

“I was only expressing my surprise on your, uh, ability to eat so much. I just mean that you eat well, sunbae.” The Heaven member made herself look smaller, trying to appeal to a kinder side of Gigi and bring down the tension.

｡･:*:･ﾟ☆  “don’t you think that might be none of your business?” gippeum asked, defensiveness sprinkled all throughout her tone as she glared daggers at the person. though she had a wise mind to just ignore the question directed at her, now wasn’t a moment that she could hold her tongue. it was bad enough that she wasn’t particularly fond of eating around other people to begin with, but questions about what she’s eating and whether she’s supposed to be eating it was enough to push her towards a bad mood. be it her age or her industry experience, gippeum was more than done with worrying about diets and what other people thought about her weight. if she was hungry, she was going to eat, even if she could sense her manager glaring at her out the corner of her eye. in her logic, there was no way she could get the job done if she didn’t have the energy to do it in the first place. “i haven’t eaten since five this morning and i’m starving. i’m eating this burger and the only thing that’ll stop me is death himself, damn it! don’t crucify me over it, geez.”

“a couple of weeks ago.. though, this car isn’t mine,” she answered after getting into the car and turning the engine on. “i asked our manager whether i could get one, since all of us don’t live at one place anymore and it’s getting difficult to pick us all up.” she explained, playing with the heat settings until the temperature seemed to be high enough to keep them warm until they get there. “but manager said i should use a company car before buying my own since i haven’t driven one in a while.” putting her seat belt on and checking all of the mirrors she made sure everything’s in tact before hitting the gas pedal. “though, manager probably gave it to me because this car has a tracker or something.” she laughed silently at the thought of their manager monitoring them like that. her eyes stayed focused on the road. “have you even driven a car after getting the license?” she laughed, trying to recall sora behind the wheel. “shouldn’t you get one , too?”

It was sort of a strange answer but Sora could see their manager making such a decision. “Me? Get a car?” Sora put on her seat belt after Sangmi, realizing she hadn’t yet. “Nah, I don’t have the money for it. Besides, as I said, I don’t drive too much. People drive us around all the time. I don’t feel the need to save for a vehicle.”
