me thinking: hmmm I should try to start a conversation with my coworkers...
the sentence my brain immediately came up with: "does anyone else ever wish they could time travel to the cambrian period safely just to see what earth was like then?"
they started laughing

Man I鈥檓 getting sick of my job lowkey. Like I know I should feel lucky for even getting a job in my field that isn鈥檛 to develop the Orphan Crusher 5000 but I鈥檝e been here 2+ years with no promotion and mediocre raises. And I鈥檓 bored
The only thing saving me is that I can wfh a decent amount. I鈥檇 look for sth else but I am somewhat tied to my job for the next year or so due to [REDACTED] so I just need to tough it out and then maybe I can go back to school or at least try to do something else

hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset
the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

anyway I love things like having independence, being intelligent, taking pride in my skills, not feigning incompetence, referring to myself as a woman instead of a girl, aging unapologetically, having pores, stretch marks, grey hairs, wrinkles and body fat, listening to my body's needs, eating as much as I need to satisfy my hunger, being bare-faced, wearing comfortable clothes, etcetera
