Does anyone have any tips for getting a good birdie? I really struggle getting my back leg up!

I was ready to quit before the world championships this year under the impression university came first and internship applications were around the corner. I practiced for hours everyday and went to the gym, worked on my nutrition and put dance before everything else but only out of obligation and not out of enjoyment. This year, my goal is not a placement. It is not to achieve something better than before but only to enjoy and fall in love with dancing again, to fall in love with the process and have the same passion a pigeon toed 3 year old had with her leather soft shoes.
