saw someone say "an 11-year-old isn't even supposed to know what sex is and if you do something horrible must be happening to you and you need to get out of there" like can we be for real for a moment. have some people honest to god never heard 11-year-olds making sex jokes in their life
#i will scream this until im blue in the face#proper age appropriate sex ed aids in reducing sexual abuse in children#you must teach prepubescent children the proper name for sexual organs and that it is not okay for anyone but themselves to touch them#when teach children consent for their bodies theyre more likely to come forward and report abuse against them#because now they know its abuse and not normal like their abuser would be telling them#this is also why im very pro sex ed in public school#because if that kid discovers its not okay to be touched then they can go to teachers or administrators to report whats happening#so yes its fine for 11 year olds to know what sex is#they were gonna have to learn eventually#not tf

As someone whose lab literally owns more kimwipes than paper towels I fully support the frivolous use of glorified kleenex
NO FOR REAL LIKE YOU GET IT!! Like yes, I do use them regularly to clean out the inside of the machines because they're lint free and good with delicate parts and that's what they're designed for. But also we have three untouched cases of kimwipes that we ordered almost two years ago and still haven't cracked open. It is a rare day that I throw out an empty kimwipe box so using a couple to ensure I don't sweat into an experiment is totally excusable.
#those kimwipe cases are also the structural foundation for other boxes in our supply room#which was a good call considering we never fucking touch them

The lab I work in has a set temperature due to the machines needing it to operate properly but it also means that there are times where I'll be running around and getting sweaty and hot and have to blot my face with a kimwipe like a southern preacher so I don't drip sweat into a 96 well plate and ruin samples

Atmosphere pressure changes causing headaches for me is such bullshit. Sorry I can't function today because there's a storm rolling in and my sinuses and nervous system freaked the fuck when the barometric pressure dropped. holding politicians accountable is important and a crucial freedom in any democracy, but holding Kamala Harris under a microscope of incessant critique when we’re less than 2 months away from an election and the only other person who can win said election is a cancer on society who has actively tried to end American democracy before and will undoubtedly do so again if elected….is not useful. hold her accountable after she wins and is inaugurated, not when we’re trying to win a razor thin race where our fundamental human rights are at stake. If you can’t grasp the seriousness of this election, then it’s your right to sit it out. But I’m not going to pretend you’re not being actively harmful by spreading rhetoric that discourages others from voting and political participation in general.
