From the dawn of our republic, we, the people of the United States, have been bequeathed a sacred trust: to uphold liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness. These ideals, so elegantly encapsulated in our Declaration of Independence, must also safeguard against the excesses of the very government they seek to establish. It is in this spirit that I ponder the proposition of a 28th Amendment, which I shall herein refer to as the "Safeguard Clause".
The proposed Safeguard Clause echoes a sentiment deeply rooted in the American psyche: "No state shall be compelled to remain in this Union against its will, should the federal government persistently and irremediably breach this Constitution. After exhaustive attempts at reconciliation, including arbitration and mediation, and upon a supermajority vote of its citizens, a state may pursue dissolution from the Union."
This is not a call to sever ties lightly, but rather a reminder of the essential American principle: governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. The framers harbored an acute awareness of the potential abuses of a centralized power. This awareness stemmed not from cynicism, but from an astute understanding of human nature and the lessons of history.
It might be easy to misconstrue this clause as a challenge to national unity. Instead, I view it as an affirmation of our shared values. By including a rigorous process for reconciliation and requiring a supermajority, the clause ensures that any decision to dissolve ties is not taken hastily or out of transient grievances.
While the trials and tribulations of leaders such as President Buchanan serve as solemn reminders of the complexities of federal-state relationships, they also underscore the necessity for clear mechanisms of redress and balance. However, the onus remains on us to ensure that such a clause is not wielded as a tool for petty disagreements but reserved for truly grievous transgressions.
To my fellow country men and women, I submit this: our Union was not forged in blind obedience, but in a shared commitment to liberty and self-governance. The Safeguard Clause, if adopted judiciously, stands as a testament to our enduring commitment to these principles. It reminds every future federal entity of its obligation to the states and its citizens.
In drafting this nation's foundational documents, our vision was not to craft an unchangeable edict, but to provide a living framework, adaptable to the challenges and evolutions of time. As we consider the Safeguard Clause, let us not be swayed by fear, but be guided by the principles that birthed this nation.
Our path forward must honor the spirit of self-governance and the sanctity of our Union. The Safeguard Clause represents not a threat to our unity, but a commitment to our founding principles. Let it serve as a reminder, a safeguard, ensuring our Constitution remains the enduring beacon of liberty it was envisioned to be.

A Clause for Rebellion
There is hope yet, join a populace revolution today! Check out the tyranny clause of the US constitution that has been hidden from us behind divisive ideologies, --- "No state shall be compelled to remain in this Union against its will, should the federal government commit persistent and irremediable breaches of this Constitution. Upon a supermajority vote of its citizens and after exhaustive attempts at reconciliation, including but not limited to arbitration and mediation, a state may seek to dissolve its connection with the Union in accordance with the procedures herein defined..." --- Hidden by division stoked by our collective unconscious' insecurity and inability to admit that we too are capable of becoming what we despise. That we too are capable of an insatiable greed and a hunger for power. This is an insecurity that even our founding fathers wrestled with and thought best left unspoken. And upon which James Buchanan suffered most greatly for and has been unduly shamed, for what no states man or woman has done since either.
Lets be the ones who return dignity and faith in this institution, our Nation, for all Americans. Let us be the ones who add the Tyranny Clause. Let us be the ones who do what has yet to be done.

The Lost Clause: How Federal Expansionists' profit from a divided Union
So, I worked with the ghosts of James Buchanan and Thomas Jefferson to imagine the right of secession being written into the bill of rights. (As imagined by chatgpt)
Thomas Jefferson came up with this:
"No state shall be compelled to remain in this Union against its will, should the federal government commit persistent and irremediable breaches of this Constitution. Upon a supermajority vote of its citizens and after exhaustive attempts at reconciliation, including but not limited to arbitration and mediation, a state may seek to dissolve its connection with the Union in accordance with the procedures herein defined…"
When I read it, I realized how absurd it is that there is no tyranny clause in the US Constitution. And after reviewing more of the history and accounts of the civil war, I learned that the Norths perception of southern people was shaped by people who have never seen what life was really like in the south. I'm not saying I agree with slavery or the antebellum south, but I do agree with practicing tolerance and temperance. All one needs to do is take a critical look at the media campaigns being conducted at the time, and see it was clearly propagandized; how power hungry federalists saw it as a way to exert more power. Regardless of our feelings towards slavery, it wasn't the issue at the heart of the civil war. The issue at the heart of our country was, and still is, the problem that the minority voice does not have a system in place to fully address grievances. And because there is no legal framework to address grievances, our southern cousins knew that they would only end up participating in a system of despotism.
Look at our modern federal government, we're told they are the final solution. If not the Pres, the Senate. If not the Senate, the Supreme Court. With the federalists having legally defined secession as illegal, they are free to divide the Union, and reap stronger Federal power. Don't worry, just give us more power and we will solve this! They've indoctrinated us into having complete blind faith in the federal institution, and would label any individual who holds anti-federalists sentiment as anti-American, as a nut job, or extremist. They even label Thomas Jefferson as an anti-federalist, a label he never used. Call me a white supremacy sympathizer, but the civil war was always going to be fought, for if not over slavery, than over education or any other polarizing issue that is solved through a federal mandate.
All I'm saying, it's high time we start a true reconciliation with our southern patriots. It's high time we begin healing the fractures that divide us. It's high time we stop protecting the foreign interest of the multinational elites, while our own domestic issues are ignored. It's high time we reclaim our authority and hold the Federal government accountable. It's high time we add a "Tyranny Clause" to the US Constitution.
