I would like to hug you
kiss you caress your hair
dive full of love into your
eyes express my gratitude to
you for being here for being you
but I won't.
Instead I'll keep filling my journal
with these thoughts safe in the
knowledge that they'll remain hidden.
This is my silent way of saying the
myriad Thank You's that I feel I owe you.
If you have by some miracle become the
listener of my soul
then this thing here is going to be my
secret confessor something/someone that
will never speak
aloud unless I want them to reveal
my hidden truths
the things that are better left unsaid.
I am but a flower that slowly fades away
consumed by a secret poison.
Lakis
The last two lines are by Greek poet Maria Polydouri
