OOC Post: Hiatus

(Yeah... I probably should have done this a LONG while ago.)

So, I've been REALLY struggling with this blog and writer's block. I'm not really satisfied with my character, Forest, and I just can't connect to the ideas I've had. I wanted this to kind of mirror me IRL, but... I just can't get into it.

It'll be a while before I come back, but I have an idea for a new character, and hopefully fleshing them out will let me think and create more clearly.

When I'm going to rework the blog to better reflect this character and their personality.

This happened to me once. I regularly Pokemon-sit for a kind lady that has one each of every Eeveelution (including an Eevee). It was winter and the heating wasn't working right, so it was pretty cold in there. At one point I sat down to play with them by using a laser pointer (they all love it and it's adorable and hilarious seeing them run around like kittens), and then, as each of them grew tired of the game, one-by-one they curled up next to me... and then on top of me (and each other) when there was no more room.

None of them even fought each other for a place! They just plopped down on top of each other until I was practically trapped under a pile of life-sized, living, breathing, and HEAVY plushies.

Honestly it was kind of relaxing once I finally accepted I would be stuck there for a WHILE. And it was really hard to keep from laughing at the absurdity. XD

Next morning I could barely get out of bed because I was so sore...

...I freaking love watching those goofs! <3

So, I think I've probably established by now that all my girls think they gotta be held at all times, and ofc Snuggs the pichu isn't any different.

Right now the sleeping arrangement is Snuggles at my neck (cute now, I fear for when she gets bigger), Boodles at my stomach, Snuffles at my feet, and Fluffles continuously trying to sleep on top of my head until she eventually gives up and goes to cuddle with Snuffles.

Hello! I'm Forest, and this is my very own Pokémon blog!

I live outside the Pokémon regions, but I dream of traveling through at least some them. Particularly, I have Unova in my mind because that is where my great-grandparents came from, and all-in-all it's just a fantastic place from all that I've seen.

You probably read the title of this blog, "Searching for a Pokémon Partner", huh? Yeah... Pokémon aren't nearly as common where I currently live and that makes things a bit more... complicated. But I want my partner to be from around where I live so we can journey together from the start.

However, I do have one special 'mon in mind, and you can probably tell who that Pokémon is by my name and avatar. I already have a friend that's a Zorua, and he can be such a scream. XD

I've been thinking about how Professor Mystic explained them to me, and I'll admit that I don't think I'm a big fan of Friend Balls, either.

I don't see them as bad anymore and someday in the future I'd LOVE to learn how to craft them, but... I can easily imagine the kind of person using them the most are the type that see no issue with spoiling their Pokemon. Of course, not everyone that uses the Ball is like that, some people aren't even remotely close to having that kind of attitude!

On another note, I apologize if my grammar is really bad! I am just really tired, honestly.

So you can catch your favorite Pokemon with a Poke Ball made by someone really special to you, or just put it out as a decoration and a reminder that someone loves you (all types of love, I mean).

I like that tradition a lot more than giving Pokemon away like that, like on Luvday or that tradition in Hammerlock, Galar where you give an Applin to someone you like.

I think I came onto this site around Luvday, and one of the first things I heard is Pokemon Daycare Caretakers PLEADING with people not to give Pokemon away like that. They have to deal with people coming in, dropping off their gift Pokemon, and never showing up again.

I can hardly imagine roller coaster of emotions the poor things have to go through. :(

OH, I see! That makes sense, and it's a huge relief!

Also, Pokemon being able to recognize the amount of effort put into the ball the trainer is using to catch them, too - that actually sounds adorable.

This is really interesting, and it's a relief to know that, even when in the catching process, the Pokemon still have a choice to stay or not most of the time. The games are fun and are great endorsements for the regions, but when I really, really thought about the capturing system I'd get kind of uncomfortable. I was just thinking: "wait, is catching about chance when ACTUALLY catching a Pokemon?"

So, thank you for a reassurance, Professor!

I hope you don't mind my asking, but what do you think of Luxury Balls and Friend Balls? I have a Luxury Ball just waiting to hold whatever Pokemon wants to be my partner, but I only want the use it because it'd be more comfortable for my future friend. I really value having a small, comfy space to just unwind in.

As for Friend Balls... if what I've read about them is true then... they're kind of horrifying. It sounds like they brainwash the Pokemon into being their caretaker's "friend".

When it comes to comparing Pokemon to their alternate forms, I think Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetales are my favorite.

I love the contrast between the two; they're like two sides of the same coin.

Hang in there, Bela. Try to focus on keeping yourself calm! Take long, deep breaths if you can, and try to relax your body bit by bit. That probably sounds impossible but it is, I promise.

What's going on and how it could escalate must be terrifying - I'm even scared for you guys! But do your best to focus on backup plans for defending the nursery or getting everyone out of there if you need to.

I hear yelling. In particular Miss Reye, but can't make out what's being said. The mamas in the nursery are getting upset, Celestie and Ruby have moved themselves to the front. Celestie won't stop growling and her fur is fluffed up.

I wanna believe it's just another Karen that my boss is telling off, but I kinda doubt. My coworker and I are moving the mamas and babies away from the walls.

Would it be possible to ask a Nurse Joy (or a few, considering the amount of Pokemon) to come by and give all the Pokemon a thorough checkup? They're very keen ladies from what I've seen and heard, and maybe someone could get an idea for what's disturbing Absol and the psychic Pokemon.

has the absol shown up again at all since before? or has the disaster already happened? i'm kind of worried about you

A little freaked out at the moment, tbh... he's shown up again, and he NEVER gets this close to us. Got to work not too long ago, and apparently he's been there outside the fence since 5 AM, but as always runs off when we get close and hasn't taken any offered food. But he keeps coming back, which is out of the ordinary. He usually goes and doesn't show back up for weeks or months at a time.

A few psychic Pokémon we're also seem to be rather antsy. I get the feeling something bad is about to happen. Like, really bad. Everything seems fine tho? All our worker Pokémon seem to be fine (tho the espeon seem on edge).

Just, really weird atmosphere rn, no one's really talking much.

The Park

WELL, I'M DUMB. XD

I'll admit that I was kind of wondering why nobody has really talked to me yet, and it took me a while to realize that I've given people nothing to talk about!

I'm sorry about that. ^_^;

ANYWAY, this is a description (admittedly) of a park you might have seen me mention. This park means a lot to me and I go there all the time, especially recently because my home... it only feels like a shadow of a home.

Okay, I want you to imagine an oval-shaped expanse atop a hill. In the middle is a field and the hill's perimeter is marked by trees of all kinds with the most common being fir trees. As a whole, the park is a few acres from front to back. There are three playgrounds; an older-designed one among the biggest group of fir trees, a more modern designed playground in a part of the field closest to the entrance, and there's a third playground in the back with a bunch of climbing rocks of all sizes standing in a circle - that one is my favorite. <3

And, in the very back, there is a slope partly blocked off by trees. If you stand at the top of the slope, you'll see a small pond encircled by stones and a fountain in the center. This place has been abandoned for... I don't know how long, actually.

It's at least old enough to have moss growing all over the rocks, and long enough for that statue that "spits" out water to fall to pieces so much you can see the water pipe. I can't tell if the statue is of a typical dragon or a Dragon-type Pokemon, but the pipe still works and keeps the water moving around!

It's a good thing, too, because this is the place where the park's Pokemon get their water. Oh! Speaking of those Pokemon... (scrambles off to find my notes) SEE YOU SOON! HOPEFULLY WITH A MORE INTERESTING POST! XD
