Hi ilovemylawyer ;D first of all I would like to say I love your fics so much. I'm planning to read all of them but I've been reading real slowly so I can savor it. I love how you write Ohjae specifically!!! If it's not too much of a bother, can we see more of Ohjae and Sangwoo's dynamic as friends (or maybe more but I can't get too greedy hehe)? His death made me sad and he needs to catch a break from having to put up with dyds... maybe Sangwoo would be his only option for freedom...

CONSIDER IT DONE. i love ohjae soooooooo much and i love that he is so loved. he is also just a blast to write so YES! OF COURSE! and no such thing as too greedy. they deserve some peace (and gentle love) between all of the violent gay bullshittery shaping their lives and, well, killing them to death. i realize as i am typing this that i have not posted them kissing at all and that is absurd of me. this is a wrong that i will right(/write, haha) expeditiously.

sangwoo being his “only option for freedom” is soooooo on the nose for how i read them btw. beautifully said. i’ve been working on a sequel to ‘overworked’ for a few months and once that finally gets out of my body and onto the internet… yes… just yes… it’s SO that… only option for freedom his only space to be normal and not walking on eggshells around insane people… a chance for both of them to be happy on their own terms…. just very well said i agree so heavily.

i’ve been drafting something up for this all morning, haven’t even had my coffee yet! and call me crazy but i think i am going to try to pump this out before july. i’ve been lamenting not having anything ready to post during pride month but i think i can make some ohjae sangwoo happen. getting requests kicks me into overdrive (IN A POSITIVE WAY) so this is entirely possible. if i end up with a wip that starts consuming me instead of me beating it into working order, instead expect it done in early august(i will be busy 100% of july)… but honestly realistically HOPEFULLY i can serve this to you extremely soon.

11 - do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

recently i have been Trying to write scenes in order. i am a fan of outlines, so i’ve been trying to have things planned out before going in and tackling the actual words and sentences and such. starting at the beginning is NOT EASY, and usually my first scene/intro is what i struggle over and edit/revamp the most. but i like things to wrap all the way around to be all nice and neat, and having a sure start is helpful for me to get through the rest of my words. right now in my process, i don’t even really allow myself to tackle scenes that are Down The Line, because once i start skipping over the things that string it all together, i’ll just be making more work for myself in the future... i have to really immerse myself to get the best results, and the best way for me to do that is to live through everything i write as i go! i think!!

55 - have you noticed any patterns in your fics? words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

god yeah. i often feel like i am repeating myself LOL. i write so much about car rides and phone calls and the damn yusung office!!! i also think i bring a lot of attention to the hands (and feet. sorry. i swear on my life it is Not Always intentional) of dyds.. i feel like Everything i have posted is about how they just CANNOT work out in a healthy happy way. or how they are on completely different pages. but i think all of this is just a direct result of the show itself. there is lots of car and hands and phone in canon. crime and torture and suffering and unlabeled freaky lawyer/client relations are my bread and butter. i love to repeat myself but i hope i present slightly different angles of things, even if i am telling the same story over and over!!!!!

36 - what fic are you proudest of?

AS A CORPSE! easily! AAC took me months to work through, at the cost of my sanity!!! i am proud of myself for finishing it at all, and i edited it SO many times that i think it turned out quite polished and Good.

AAC is sooooooo serious to me. i felt very carried away writing it, but i reached a point in its progress where i knew EVERYTHING that i wanted to do, but it was a matter of actually stringing it all together in a way that i pray makes sense. i am not sure how successful it is in conveying what i was going for (i cannot Describe or Explain what i was going for-it’s all written there) but even if it doesn’t land/go over well for everyone*, i still think it is an awesome feat :]

*AAC is, i imagine, the most challenging of my fics for most readers… i know it is a painful slow horrible drag just to get to the Penis Scenes that many people click for, but… well…! that’s just the way things are! i feel some sense of guilt for starting that series out on a SEEMINGLY positive note, only to end it the way i did. but AAC/the lovesick series was in part my way of enhancing/preluding to/recreating the canon ending of the show. it feels inevitable for all of my writing for evilive to end up… deadly… corpse-like…

43 - is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?

YES, OF COURSE! i have So Many ideas. all the time. Every Day. i have been able to bring maybe 30% of my ideas all the way to the publication stage. the rest are just rattling around in my brain or being slowly tended to in my docs. i struggle to find the motivation unfortunately. i have (at least) >30k unpublished words. i have big ideas but not the time, focus, or drive to see them all to fruition in a timely manner. i of course PLAN to write ALL of my ideas… BUT….!!! it’s very hard >_<

most notably, i have 3 alternate endings planned. one is 17k deep and will absolutely turn out over 100k, another is 8k deep and i have NO clue how far i can reasonably take it, and the last one is a measly mini doc of scattered notes and planned dialogue. and actually there is a secret 4th alt ending that is nothing more than an idea. #4 doesn’t even have a doc yet. but it is written on my Idea Board. i also have the scales of justice attached to my Idea Board.

i have only ONE full on Alternate Universe planned as of now, as i am deeply in love with the canon setting. this AU i have poured many(MANY) hours of (fun) research into, but it is nowhere near enough. i have lots of plot beats mapped out, but again, nowhere near enough. if i had the confidence to write in chapters, and could post them as i go and just see what happens, this would be the one. but i am much more comfortable pouring over my words alone in the dark for years to tweak them to my personal satisfaction than i am sharing them before i am 100% sure about what i am writing. i think it would be really FUN to do, but… really scary, too! and difficult! this AU needs lots of time to cook, so maybe in like 4 years i can pull it off. maybe less. maybe.. more…

and of course i have various scattered ideas that just. have not happened yet. smaller things more along the lines of what i have already posted. but as i have been writing so much evilive for over a year now, i have grown increasingly long winded about Everything. i will plan for something short and sweet, and then it will grow into something huge and scary and often times it bests me before i can complete it. i am not one to give up, though. all of my ideas will be executed in due time. i live my life very very slowly!!!

good morning!!!!!!!! i wanted to put a possum emoji but .. THERE ISN’T ONE? something in this world needs to change.

29 - what’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?

dialogue!!!! conversations!!! i loooooooove making guys say things... in a lot of my stuff, i start off with a conversation, like just the plain speech all by itself, and then i work around it to bring it to life… however! one Han Dongsoo very very often says whatever he wants instead of what i lay out, so there is always room for forced change XD he drives me crazy!!!!! but i am proud of my dialogue :] and in tandem with that i am proud of my delicate ability to leave things Unsaid. i love writing convos with completely unspoken counterparts. maybe this is because i like to keep things Real. in the case of DYDS , there are so many things that both of them Cannot Say Outloud. dongsoo can’t express his love (because … is there any?) and doyoung can’t express… well…….. much of anything… not outright at least… it is these communication issues that leads to their canon downfall really…! so i love playing around with their speaking and i am proud of the way i can execute a conversation between them! yahoo!

35 - what’s your favorite fic you’ve posted?

THIS IS HARD. either as a dog OR forty minutes ….??? MAYBE? both of those have a heavy vibe of uncertainty which i do quite like…. but honestly hint hint has a big place in my heart… all of these are all about that uncertainty and uneasiness and change and weirdness… that is what i enjoy doing the most maybe? WHO KNOWS. i change all the time. eight minutes could also be my favorite… it’s extremely hard to pick just one! i have extremely complicated feelings about every single one of my fics LOL.

i have been reading a lot of ao3/fanfic writers’ discussions about the difficulties around posting fics in Current Year. something that has stuck with me most is this: people see fics as another form of Content to consume. i know everything is very fast paced in the world nowadays but please, take my hand, slow down with me… i do not want to be a content machine! i want to discuss and chat about and dissect this show and it’s characters with people who also care a lot about it. i am perfectly happy to be the conversation starter (by posting my labors of love! again, this is the only way i know how.) but please! i am an earthling just like you! have mercy!

the way you write dyds makes me think of the song “entre caníbales” by soda stereo. maybe partially because it came on shuffle while i was reading one of your fics but the vibes match really well imo

WOW!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! just gave this a little listen.. first of all great song on its own! def getting added to my rotation. i am absolutely picking up what you are putting down. from a doyoung perspective particularly. permission to ramble? :3

the ‘final showdown’ episode 10 warehouse murder moment hurts. it hurts bad because well dyds complete each other and if you have one half killing his other half… ouch! but it’s inevitable. doyoung HAS to die for dongsoo to understand him, the loneliness he had before meeting ds… how pointless it all feels without a partner… but doyoung has to die this is just the way things are. but couldn’t it have been different? couldn’t his death have been slow and intimate? doyoung spends their whole relationship trying to drag the violence out of dongsoo, and once he’s FINALLY on the receiving end of it, it’s over in a flash! bang! boom! DEAD! this song is one i would play during his last breaths on those stairs!!! he waited so long and worked and tried so hard only to Barely experience that sweet sweet lawyer violence… if only that brief moment could last an eternity…!!!!!

^(this is all stuff i have yet to fully write out in my fics, because tackling post-canon is… HARD! i have …3? postcanon AUs in the works but well. writing is hard. this will all be woven into my shared words eventually.)
