Fortnite: New Year event
If you are spending New Year's eve playing Fortnite, be ready to party. Epic Games has put an in-game occasion to observe the changing of the calendar by falling a giant disco ball in the skies and forcing everybody around the map to dancing. The event happens each time the clock strikes midnight at a new time zone, so don't worry when you find the ball fall and you do not have a glass of champagne all set.
Here is the way the continuing in-game occasion functions. When it is going to become January 1st someplace in the planet, a giant rift in the sky opens above the map along with a disco ball gradually descends from the skies. A countdown begins, and once it hits zero, fireworks are taken off and everybody is made to dance for approximately five minutes or so. It is essentially like Epic Games is pitching a giant boogie bomb everyone playing.

The event was grabbing gamers off guard, with a few theorizing it had been a scheduling dilemma. Members of this Epic Games group have needed to remind players there are additional time zones and it is New Year's day at certain areas. "Woke up to find out that lots of Fortnite gamers are oblivious of time zones," Nick Chester of Epic Games tweeted. "We are an educational and global game."
