“Well, I’ve heard of him myself, in England,” said the doctor. “But the point is, had he money?” “Money!” cried the squire.

now feels like a good time to reiterate that Iranians have been martyred by america + israel already, both empires that possess nuclear weapons, and that Iran does not have nuclear weapons. so now is not the time to joke about america getting nuked-- any retaliation on Iran's part is justified and the only way we escape this situation, but Iran is not going to nuke us, because the entire premise that Iran has nukes is how america justified bombing them and also the exact same rhetoric we used against Iraq and how we killed my countrysmen when there was again no evidence of nuclear warfare. New York City is not going to get fucking nuked. go listen to a podcast or something

If we are to truly reach a moment where we might be finished with England cleared away to make room for something else there most certainly lies a dark moment between here and there. A moment of terror where everything appears to be without hope. I know this.

This coming Eid AlAdha, please consider contributing to The Sameer Project's Eid AlAdha Campaign
Salam,
Eid Al Adha is a time when all of humanity, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, should be reminded and encouraged to give to those less fortunate. Who in the entire world, is more deserving of our solidarity, collective prayers, sacrifice, and communal responsibility than Gaza, Palestine.
"Due to necessity, scholars have permitted that the Qurbani/Sacrifice money go to Gaza." - Sheikh Isam Talima
Eid is a time of celebration, but more importantly it is also a time of giving, and of unity, compassion, and shared devotion - and this is why it is crucial that we support people in Gaza during the ongoing famine that they are currently experiencing. The Qurans says: "And righteousness is not that ye turn your faces to the east and to the west, but that he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, and be of those who give in charity, and be of those who love righteousness, and be of those who guard the family of God." (2:177)
Meaning of Eid Al- Adha
With broken hearts, we welcome the second Eid Al-Adha with Gaza in genocide. The ruthless military occupation has stopped aid from coming in to the Strip since March 2nd, forcing people to spend all of Ramadan with minimal food, and their Eid Al Fitr in bloodshed from airstrikes. Now with the Eid Al-Adha coming up, the border crossings still haven't opened. Due to the lack of aid and food entering Gaza, a plate of rice costs $10 and a bag of flour costs between $300-$400 (with a high of $640 over the past few weeks).
Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, is a major holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide for three to four days. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of unwavering faith, and Muslims interpret this event not only as an act of obedience but also as a profound symbolic act of self-sacrifice and spiritual purification. Muslims all around the world sacrifice a sheep on the first day of Eid Al-Adha and distribute it to those in need. The words ŰŁŰ¶ŰÙ‰ (adha) and Ù‚Ű±ŰšŰ§Ù† (qurban) are synonymous in meaning ‘sacrifice’ (animal sacrifice), ‘offering’ or ‘oblation’. This sacrifice of an animal serves not only as a religious ritual but also as a powerful expression of generosity offered to those experiencing dire circumstances.
Eid Food Distribution in Gaza
Unfortunately, in Gaza, there are only a handful of sheep left at exorbitant prices - starting at $3,000 or $4,000 per sheep - and while borders remain closed, there is no access to meat or chicken of any sort. This is why at The Sameer Project, we will focus on providing the food that is available to as many people as possible so those who are experiencing this immense hardship can still take part in the blessings of the occasion. This includes rice plates, bread, canned goods and vegetables. Vegetables are grown in Gaza and we would like to raise enough money to purchase some for those most in need, sick children in hospitals, vulnerable displaced families, etc, in order for them to also benefit from fresh food and nutrients. Rice, bread, and canned food will be distributed to various camps and random areas.
A plate of rice is now $10, but can fluctuate and change in a matter of days. We will fundraise according to the current prices but we will also keep you updated about any significant changes on our instagram page.
Zakat & Sadaqa Eligibility
As Eid quickly approaches, we wanted to share some information with both our Muslim and non-Muslim contributors about how their donations will be used during this sacred occasion. We have spoken to numerous Islamic scholars and to ensure proper designation of all funds according to Islamic Law, and God knows best. For Zakat, Sadaqa, and Kaffarah, any commission fees will be covered from our non-Eid funds so 100% of your donations will go to food, water, and other items.

Mostly living in cities, towns, and villages within Israel’s internationally recognised borders, many Palestinian citizens of Israel found themselves excluded from life-saving infrastructure during the worst nights of the Iran-Israel conflict to date. For Samar al-Rashed, a 29-year-old single mother living in a mostly Jewish apartment complex near Acre, the reality of that exclusion came on Friday night. Samar was at home with her five-year-old daughter, Jihan. As sirens pierced the air, warning of incoming missiles, she grabbed her daughter and rushed for the building’s shelter. “I didn’t have time to pack anything,” she recalled. “Just water, our phones, and my daughter’s hand in mine.” The panicking mother tried to ease her daughter’s fear, while hiding her own, gently encouraging her in soft-spoken Arabic to keep up with her rushed steps towards the shelter, as other neighbours climbed down the stairs, too. But at the shelter door, she said, an Israeli resident, having heard her speak Arabic, blocked their entry – and shut it in their faces. “I was stunned,” she said. “I speak Hebrew fluently. I tried to explain. But he looked at me with contempt and just said, ‘Not for you.’”
...
Yara Srour, a 22-year-old nursing student at Hebrew University, lives in the neglected neighbourhood of al-Mahatta in Lydd. Her family’s three-storey building, which is around four decades old, lacks official permits and a shelter. Following the heavy Iranian bombardment they witnessed on Saturday evening, which shocked the world around them, the family tried early on Sunday to flee to a safer part of the city. “We went to the new part of Lydd where there are proper shelters,” Yara said, adding that her 48-year-old mother, who suffers from weak knees, was struggling to move. “Yet, they wouldn’t let us in. Jews from poorer areas were also turned away. It was only for the ‘new residents’ — those in the modern buildings, mostly middle-class Jewish families.” Yara recalls the horror vividly. “My mother has joint problems and couldn’t run like the rest of us,” she said. “We were begging, knocking on doors. But people just looked at us through peepholes and ignored us, while we saw the sky light up with fires of intercepted rockets

This holiday season, please consider supporting Dahnoun Mutual Aid’s campaign to provide winter clothes and blankets in Gaza. Dahnoun is a Gazawi-run grassroots initiative that has been providing thousands of people in multiple areas of Gaza with water, food, baby milk, diapers, tents, and other supplies since July. With your donations, they are able to buy blankets and clothes in bulk at a reduced price and give them out at no cost to people sheltering in displacement camps. Their Chuffed campaign is linked above, and you can find their Venmo and Paypal in addition to documentation of the past several months’ aid initiatives on Instagram. The blankets and clothes fundraiser is detailed in a recent post: instagram.com/dahnounmutualaid
