I happened to walk out into the kitchen to see my mom frantically waving a spatula back and forth through a fire she had started on the stove. How would the RO's react to this if the MC had done it?

Azriel sighs, snapping his fingers to put it out. "And this is why I wanted to get takeaway." He snakes his arms around their waist from behind. "Trouble since the day we met," he whispers, lips pressed to their ear, but MC can hear the smile.

Eli fails to contain his chuckle as he gently takes the spatula from their hand, turns off the burner, and smothers the fire with a pot lid. He pulls them in for a hug and drops a kiss on their head. "Well, you tried." Eli laughs harder when MC lets out an indignant squawk.

Cass releases a string of colorful curses and grabs MC to pull them away from the fire, then chucks a glass of water at it. It does nothing. "Fuck!"

Kai grabs a fire extinguisher from a cabinet somewhere and puts it out, then runs his hands over MC, demanding to know if they are okay. "How about I handle the cooking from now on?" Though he's trying to fight the smile pulling at the corner of his mouth.

Lir dumps a canister of salt over the flames and then looks at MC after a moment. He laughs and kisses their forehead. "So, how does Indian sound?"

Xander pinches his nose bridge between his thumb and forefinger, mumbling something about a chef on retainer as he grabs a pot lid to drop over the flames. He shakes his head, a hand over his mouth to hide his smile.

Rook looks furious as he grabs MC's wrist and, after a brief moment of nausea-inducing vertigo, deposits MC in front of Mo's Diner and yanks the door open for them. "Don't fret. I also extinguished the flames," he grounds out. He grumbles something about keeping humans alive and impossible as they walk in.

Wren grabs the pan and drops it into the sink, turning on the faucet. He lifts MC's hands up to inspect them, pressing a kiss to their palm after he's satisfied they're unharmed. "And you said you had no need for a knight-in-shining-armor," he jests.

??? lets out an alarmed "Shit!" and grabs a cookie sheet, slapping it over the fire. After a moment, he runs a hand through his curls. "How about you... handle the salad and I'll take over at the stove." He laughs at MC's glare when he places a bowl, a prepackaged salad mix and jar of vinaigrette in front of them.

OK, tiny headcanon:

When Cove is away to Nevada to see Kyra, you and Mr. Holden can have bonding moments while sending care packages or letters.

Imagine going over to take care of Cove's fish and bonding with Mr. Holden over how adorable he was when he was younger while making tiny boxes of gifts. I just find that cute.

Cove’s kisses are hesitant and soft, but there’s so much feeling behind them that they still seem to always take your breath away

If your first kiss is in step 2, it was less a kiss and more a brief chaste pressing of lips. Chances are neither of you knew what you were doing -and Cove definitely didn’t- but he was so incredibly giddy and nervous afterwards he didn’t know what to do with himself

If your first kiss is in step 3, it’s less of one of those we-touched-lips middle school kisses and more of a “real” kiss. It’s still brief and Cove still has somewhat of the same reaction of all nerves and happiness. 

Cove is one of those people who will put his face close to yours in a way of asking consent for the kiss, waiting for you to close the gap to make sure you want to kiss him just as much as he wants to kiss you

After you kiss for an extended period of time and the two of you break apart for air, he always rests his forehead against yours, close enough where you can kiss again and his warm breath continues to ghost across your lips
