Now it’s this guy’s turn to claim the blanket. And again I must put down my hook to accommodate.
Edit: look how snug and comfortable he is... I'm never getting this back am I?

Made it to the end of part 6 (and wove in all the annoying ends). I can see light at the end of the tunnel!
Blanket's getting so big now it getting more difficult to get a decent photo.

Got a bit of time on it before the feeling of 'I need a gd nap' won out. Progress is progress though and I really love working with this one. It's gonna look so good when it's done. 😀
Edit: the lighting in this room doesn't do this yarn justice. I'll get a better pic out in my garden when it finally stops raining.

Having a bit of a shit day, so going to cheer myself up by starting on a new project. I've had this yarn in my stash for close to 5 years now. Should probably do something with it. 😂
This is Vidalana Aloft in Tiger Lily, an old knitcrate yarn. It's a super soft and squishy dk weight; a blend of merino, baby alpaca and cotton. And it is so, so soft.

Working on a danger noodle. Pretty rough right now but making good progress. So happy with how much I've improved over the past week.

I also make amigurumi, though it's been a while. These are some of the things I've made in the past:

And a shawl that I'll never wear (but it was fun to make):

Unfortunately I don't remember the patterns I used for these, though I'll be sure to come back and edit if I figure it out.

Some progress this week on my Octagonical blanket. After almost a year of not working on it, I made it to the end of part 5. It always seems to take me a few years to make these things. 🤣

As a self-certified crazy cat person, here are some obligatory pictures of my feline overlords.
The beautiful lady up top there is Hera, queen of the house. She's a 16 year old domestic long hair who has been with me since she was a kitten.
Then there's Pippin and Merry, two almost-identical brothers who turned up on our doorstep in the middle of winter about five years ago:

And finally, Zeus, an 18 year old Manx, whose favorite place in the world is a very specific cardboard box in my wardrobe (he's tricky to get a photo of since he spends 90% of his time in there now).

Quick, simple silhouette of a woman, art deco inspired. I don’t draw people too often but I needed a placeholder for my carrd template. I used ai to help me out a little on the pose, but everything is drawn by me.

I created this to act as a placeholder in my carrd template. I wasn’t sure about putting this up because I’m not happy with the middle bit (the petals are kind of everywhere… roses are hard). It’s the first time I’ve done so without the use of a tutorial to guide me so thats progress. Next time though, I think I’ll choose an easier flower. 😅

I made a carrd template! After years of just sticking to the defaults I decided to try and have a go at making my own from scratch.
And so I present, Romantic Rose. A clean, easy to read carrd template for displaying character profiles. I created this for my own FFXIV RP character but it can easily be adapted for other settings and/or original characters. I included sections for character details, a gallery for artwork and screenshots, and an ooc section for player information. All sections can be adjusted, including colors and layout (add or remove images or even whole pages as you wish).
If you’d like to use this template yourself, feel free (you’ll need pro+ unfortunately because I went a bit ham with this one). I’ve set it up as pay-what-you-want so you can pay nothing, if you wish, but coffee donations are most welcome.
 Price: $0 | Demo
The placeholder art is all original, drawn by me. Replace it with your own images but please do not alter the attribution at the bottom of the page.

Third practice lesson, a peach. Had a lot of fun playing with a texture brush for this one. Still think my shading is a bit weak but hopefully with practice that will improve. Drawn from a photo provided as part of tutorial series by Freya.art. I found this one a little faster to do but I also think it’s probably not quite as good as the others I’ve done so far. I’ll come back to this one and try it again in a few months.

Second lesson done. This one was harder and took me a few days of interrupted work to complete but I feel like I’m getting the hang of this already. Leaves are a bit borked, but other than that I love the result.
