I think one of the best pieces of writing advice I ever got was to ask yourself constantly, 'What is the most interesting thing that can happen right now?' Whether you have writer's block or you feel like you're simply moving in a generic/uninspired direction with a project. Stop, and treat your story to a little chaos.

There's nothing more important than writing what you want to read. Don't worry about who will like your book. Don't worry about what market it can neatly fit into. Don't cut corners or blunt edges to satisfy an imaginary person who might dislike aspects of your art. It's yours. Treat it as a pure expression of your soul. Compromise is for cowards.

When a Character Is Grieving Someone They Never Got to Say Goodbye To

✧ They talk about the person in past tense… then correct themselves. Then stop talking entirely.

✧ They touch things that belonged to the person like they’re fragile, sacred, about to disappear.

✧ They hoard the last voicemail, last message, last anything. Play it. Don’t play it. Just knowing it exists hurts enough.

✧ They leave something untouched, an empty seat, a half-packed bag, a coffee order that isn’t theirs.

✧ They get irrationally angry when someone else seems to be “moving on.” As if forgetting is betrayal.

✧ They don’t let themselves cry all at once. It comes in pieces. Like they’re afraid too much grief will drown them.

✧ They over-apologize. For being quiet. For being distant. For not being okay.

✧ They become hyper-aware of time, dates, anniversaries, time zones, the exact moment everything ended.

✧ They get superstitious. Ritualistic. As if doing things "right" might reverse something.

✧ They smile when they talk about the person. But it’s brittle. And it never quite touches their eyes.

Had a dream recently about Will being a teacher in a PRIMARY SCHOOL. I know, sounds insane, right? And the man actually was on a brink of insanity sometimes. But, the funny thing is, he developed some kind of scheme, where he would treat the kids like he would treat his dogs and it worked ridiculously well. Also every day Hannibal would drop him to his work and kiss him goodbye, wishing him well maintaining and manipulating his little beasts into something appropriate. So, yeah. Gotta thank my brain for showing me this one

But just now mizumono happened and GOD DAMN. Cried like my soul is being pulled apart

It's my third rewatch and I literally feel like I'm watching a human-made jesus being born or an undying peace of eternal masterpiece or I'm being served a godlike full-course meal idk. This show is so perfect for art freaks I feel like it's impossible to get tired of it
