been thinking a lot of the g/t of coal mine canaries. relying on this tiny little creature to keep you alive. listening to them chatter and sing while you do arduous work. did you know there were safety measures that’d resuscitate the canaries, because the miners would get so attached? how could you not get attached? a tiny spot of singing sunshine in a dark cave. they fit in your palm, but hold your entire life in their hands. this could be g/t. i’m so so so so normal about canaries and miners.

Morgan and Risk Pt. 1

The sight before Morgan was as impressive as it was terrifying. An entire pirate fleet, devastated, reduced to nothing more than chunks of wood and metal sinking between the monsters massive coils. He felt his stomach turn as he watch the leviathan start plucking what unlucky humans had survived from the water, downing them in quick gulps, not granting them even the curtesy of at least chewing. Morgan closed his eyes and took in a long shaky breath, so, he thought to himself, this was the monster his kingdom employed for their safety.

a little lore bit:

the facility they are at used to have a bunch of other scientists researching the happenings with the weird stuff going on there. They either ended up abandoning the project or.... became part of it! dun dun DUNNNN!

so theres a bunch of different anomaly *monsters* (mostly hostile) that are around, and its basically the same way that Jace got turned here too.

and the nearby town that Jace is from, just assumes the area is an abandoned military base cuz its been quiet for the last 10 years.
